One-week "Resistance Penalty Testing" Hardcore Ladder Race
" The last time I played D2 was 2005 when patch 1.11 was released with a new event. The only thing I saw was my entire friendlist getting banned with 2 expections and suddenly new accounts begging for items. Guess why I quit D2 it was because Blizzard stopped caring in 1.10 which was announced as their greatest patch? There are no public HC games because everybody is botting. It already was like that in 2003: In classic a sorceressbot received Battle orders teleported to the first spawn point of the Chaos Sanctuarium created a TP gave a command for the followbots which were hammerdins opened the seals and repeated that till diablo. A common LoD bot run was a itemshopped enigmabot that soloed everything and called followbots while in Throne. You certainly are no expection I did a google search on your botter board account and there are several screens including 3rd party software It doesn't really matter if you clean your photobucked folder. I made enough screenshots to prove that you are cheating. Everybody that played D2 after Blizzard added Realm down knows that D2 Classic leveling was a source of realm downs. Also everbody knows that the so called loader is a tool Blizzard banned for because it was used to load 3rd party tools. If somebody comes with "D2 Ladder Experience" it's already shady, because when D2 was still game where the majority weren't cheaters there was no ladder. Basically everybody had level 99 and the HC list was greyed out. Botting on Cow runs was out of question there were instant RIP starts called MLEB, you could barely escape while a Bot would have tried to start killing normal cows and getting killed. It's really easy to count 1 and 1 together, if somebody uses the same/similar nicks or visits trade areas without a single Offering or Selling in Global chat. If you could read then you would know that PoE shouldn't be Pay to win and my /whois checks saw several players being in mud flats without a single global chat offer, so it's obvious they bought/sold maps/currency items for fools gold. That's also the way you obtained more beta keys. Nice way right? Instead of supporting the poor devs you buy a bunch of beta keys for fools gold. So your goal was to reduce certain loopholes while ignoring others on purpose. Your real goal is to have certain loopholes some people are not aware of you can exploit. What about high level fillers? What about followbots? All known from D2 Botters What about Botterboardscum? Doesn't matter which site that uses virtual currencies for pay to win. Buying maps or currency items for fools gold. This race had 5/10 users in the Top 10 that obviously use the botterboard and I also suspect other users but I can't prove it since they are at last that smart not to use the same Nickname or create 1 to 1 matches. " Sure you can but it costs tons of money. Look at Diablo3. Hiring a studio to write wardensoftware were at last 1 million bucks. Each game before warden used they quiet common "load a dll" check for installed 3rd party tools, which only resulted in an unload and reload as a counter measure. Till 2005 their old games were basically cheater food. Then they pay people to analyze scripts and write filters for automation. And they sued hackers that sold hacks. Other games don't invest much money into anticheating software because they sell a new game within the next 2 years anyway look at Call of Duty and other games. Punkbuster and other public software is quiet beaten for quiet some time and it's still used in other games. " You have to consider is that some players certainly get level 31 gems first and delete their characters after that or rename their characters that may reduce the number of deaths even further. Considering the Deaths on areas where multiple resists are needed there was indeed a change. Act 1 is just an act where you have to stack coldresists most of the time. So you must look at the progress. I took 1 day longer to reach merciless than I did last race. Ok one reason is that I wasn't in a party this time so I lost much time in cruel. The Top rankings aren't affected much by resists but if you look at the Ruthless levels -/+5 levels for Vaal and Sins you will see that many people died there. " Sadly taking a TP or and exit leaves you in the area during the loading time, that won't rescue you at all. A delay will result in many players creating unsafe TPs or spawnspots and you will die within the delay time. It already happened 2 races ago that one maradeur was inviting people to his party and treid to kill others with unsafe TPs but ironically died while trying to generate an unsafe TP. Do you want something like:"Come Town and take your own TP before I take yours" People won't care if it's an urgent real life situation. Also you don't seem to understand how such a called "chicken" works. Hackers find out where the life value you currently got is stored and check this value with ReadProcessMemory which can't be detected. To leave a game there are many ways which can't be detected by the best anticheating software. So detecting it is not possible. But since it's primitive people will play riskier because they trust in their tool, so unless they get killed in one hit there is no way they will die. But this riskier style of playing will result in many leavings and that's obvious a normal player is really unlikely to leave that many times, so you can add the occasions somebody left the game one player left within certain time. A clean player won't have many leaves because he plays differently and a dirty player will have trigger his script all the time despite the situation, so you can punish him. Or you wanna tell me somebodies house is on fire he took out the fire but it started to burn again within some hours? Remember Out of Town and left while life <X% several times. Potting on low life is a common situation on life leeching characters Now let's say depending on life nodes ES nodes etc. the devs can find out what kind of value is considered as dangerous. That might be 50% on a marauder(duelist, Broken ES and 70% on a Shadow, Witch or Templar, <35% on a ranger, 20% ES on a CI witch.(Those are only examples) This value will be considered as critical value from that point it will be considered really hard to escape death. Even really good players won't be able to escape such situations because they have a reaction time from a half second at best a script has a reaction time under 0,1 second. Comparing the delay between the last received damage and quitting is sadly really inaccurate because even a human might receive damage when he already tries to leave. That's why you check for critical values. Considering the restriction the problem is that you can send players in the moment they you finish of the monster. Changing the AI can easily become exploited. For example you create a character which can cast immortal call quiet fast has a good mana regeneration and and good duration for its level. He will just cust immortal call while a boss attacks him and another player kills the boss. I gave quiet good examples on restriction for Merveil in normal. I have never seen a racer character that killed merveil under level 11 and you will certainly not be able to finish ruthless with a level 30 character. If you want to create low level challenges then those characters must be either alone or there must a a damage output chart till 11%(no culling strike abusing) Whats the point if the character didn't even do 5% damage. For Vaal on normal the lowest level I can imagine would be level 18 but I highly doubt such a character will have level 18 if he will comletes all quests. On normal -6 Arealevels are quiet possible. On cruel and ruthless it will balance itself over time so you will more likely have -3 arealevels Last edited by Hilbert#4232 on Oct 1, 2012, 3:01:04 PM

And the rarest jewel of them all, over a 1000 words with little to no good commentary or feedback from Hilbert.
GGG will have a design that prevents the "easy" boosts, that's why there is a Beta to catch them. Given how Chris has responded to other questions, I think its reasonable to assume that he is of the school of thought that tons of restrictions, akin to a crazy DRM on a piece of software which only punishes the "casual" user. Those determined to exploit, cheat or hack will continue to do so unimpeded. "When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Diamond Supporter."

"It doesn't matter. I want to be able to try and take Merveil and fail horribly, because it may be fun and I play games for fun. People will not do it in race because it is not worth it. It is risky and trying to survive on low level. For example to get through prison without killing stuff but not dieing is much slower than normal rushing. There is also nothing wrong in having a friend at merveil be in party with you when you just killed brutus. Then you can both go to meri even when you are only level 10. As I said, casual players can't be hurt by mechanics that that fight exploiters. I don't like things like "You cannot enter, you are too low level." They really destroy the feeling of the game. Anyway, I think my idea of party exp sharing (never get more experience, just give experience to both party members) is enough and then level restrictions are not needed. I would just like to say there is only one player in the whole PoE universe that has ever asked to play with me and I straight up told them no. It was Hilbert. It was based on his reputation as a troll and a foul human being on these forums. I stand vindicated by that decision today.
2nd, the -75 resists is great. It makes things a lot more interesting. "You certainly are no expection I did a google search on your botter board account and there are several screens including 3rd party software It doesn't really matter if you clean your photobucked folder. I made enough screenshots to prove that you are cheating." Ok, it is kind of creepy having an internet stalker, but what the heck lets go with this. I have a jsp account. I've never tried to hide my status as a jsp member. I even posted on here asking if the devs had any problem with jsp and they said yeah dont talk about it in your trade posts and I said ok no problem. Whatever your views the facts are that tons of people use jsp, you have mules full of items that you will never use and boom you cash them out. I've never purchased forum gold because I don't need to, if it makes me a bad person for wanting to cash in the digital items I earned in the games I played then call me a bad person. I really don't care. But being a jsp member doesn't make you a hacker or whatever. The irony of it is, the terms and conditions there prohibit discussion or anything related to hacks/cheats and you'll get banned for it. It is strictly a currency exchange board for video games now. If your good at video games its a way to carry forward your efforts, instead of just playing a game for 2 years and having nothing to show for it. You can hate jsp, you can call it pay to win, you can say whatever you want, that is fine, you can have your opinion...being a jsp member doesn't make you a hacker anymore than being Hispanic automatically means your an illegal immigrant. Idiots like to group people up, reasonable people look at the individual. Post your "evidence" I'd like to see this. The only thing I've ever had on photobucket are A.) item screen shots B.) screen shots of characters This should be good stuff lets see it. "Also everbody knows that the so called loader is a tool Blizzard banned for because it was used to load 3rd party tools." You know how many times I was banned by blizzard in 8 years? None. Chicken hack makes you soft, map hack makes you lazy, and you don't need hacks to use loaders. -You just get multiple PCs, or use the alternate users on windows with multiple copies of D2. It can easily be done legit, unless your too stupid to figure it out, which for you is probably the case. I started playing at the end of 1.08. I only did ladder runs on classic. There has never been a time in D2 classic's history when "everyone had a 99" on classic. I finished 1.09 as the #1 honors duke, no cows, no hacks, no cheats, only chaos runs. I died at 92 to lag drop on my goodo' 56k connection, but I had a heck of a run and no duke or duchess ever passed me. In Response to our #1 Troll mascott. "Instead of supporting the poor devs you buy a bunch of beta keys for fools gold." Let us consider the obvious. You see that tag by my name Hilbert? It means I'm a bronze supporter. That means I get 3 beta keys. Right now I'm using three beta keys. Now if I've picked up other keys, and given other keys to friends, that is my business. If PoE has any issue with me I'll gladly speak to them. Let me take a quick look at your signature to see what level of support you have given to this game....oh nothing. SO the freeloader is talking me down for not supporting. Figures. Go look in the mirror and then go pound sand. "So your goal was to reduce certain loopholes while ignoring others on purpose. Your real goal is to have certain loopholes some people are not aware of you can exploit. What about high level fillers? What about followbots? All known from D2 Botters" So by constantly going public with these issues, by spamming global chat on my lvl 1's the minute they get access to maps I'm really doing a great job greedily hoarding the sekrets all for myself so I can get advantages hu?! And I don't think the devs are my pawns or yours. I raise issues and I have faith they will create good systems. They have proven their ability overall to make really good systems. If you had taken any time to try and talk to me in game, or pm'd me or engaged in any level of discussion on these issues or just read the full context of my posts you'd know that I'm against any solution that leaves room for these types of problems. I have even said, level restrictions are not enough, due to people justmaking high level fillers. I've also commented on how follower bots are an evil that must also be considered. But you aren't interested in any type of fair or reasonable conversation. You just want to attack people and be a douche. So it doesn't really matter what I say to you. If you paid any attention at all you would know that I'm against these and I've been raising concerns about these issues while you have been trolling and attacking people. There is an easy chicken hack solution 3-5 second delay timer. Problem solved. If that makes the game too tough for you go back to default. Thanks. Looking for more guild members for races/4 month hc leagues, pm for info Last edited by TEBird#3705 on Oct 1, 2012, 6:48:24 PM

Lets just ignore the troll known as hilbert. Seriously, don't feed those things.
Ill try to post my feedback, but its looking like multiple walls of text, I'm just not good at giving feedback really :( Oh well, maybe I can confuse even more people, or who knows, someone might actually enjoy the read. Yes some of what I say will probably come across as contradictory. There is no need to attempt to understand my logic and reasoning if this happens. To reiterate on my previous edited post, I feel that this new penalty did little to make anything harder. It did teach me that you really don't need max resistances until late game maps, and you can avoid maps where you would need them if you need to. There is only a couple boss's you would really need them to be safe, like Vaal, though I think you could do him with all negatives, one second of lag and a laser is a bit much to risk, at least for me. I ran several into normal mode, but only played marauders into later difficulty's. Some boss's like merviel are very easy for a melee, you really don't need to get resists. Others, it helps, but with a little skill and cunning you could do most if not all with negative resists. Resist options?
Spoiler
As far as gear choices go, I don't understand most people, keeping multiple sets to trade in and out, what the fudge!? I cant even get one good set! Trading in and out would be crazy, if I could get gear to do it to max survive ability against every boss, I probably would, but I would never have enough luck to roll gear to do that. Siding with the resist bandit I saw was just a waste more or less, far better to keep same build, eventually later on I'm sure my gear would max resists without trying, once all my gear is in the 60s anyway, and since I can survive fairly well without, I don't see a need to hurry. Same for speccing into resist nodes, unless its in the way, or is a nice + to all, its just a waste, especially with the ground slam nerf. I will say that I was eventually looking for resist rings instead of hp rings, and enforcing resist to all also on the ring, to keep from being negative as much as possible. I was lucky enough to eventually get a couple like that witch was nice and didn't hinder me much lacking hp. It will change gear choices a little bit, but I imagine less so then how everyone was stacking iiq/iir to get maps inside maps before that changed, between the two changes or that and resists, I think we are still much more flexible on what we allow on gear. I did have very limited experience in maps before the change though, at least limited enough that I never built up a lot of iiq for map hunting.
Gear
Spoiler
Gear ended up as follows, vast majority was bought from other high level marauders (before they died), I don't think I upgraded a single thing in the last 24 hours, once there was few marauders left above me, and with my luck on rolls, that was pretty much the gear I was left with.
Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable A few notes on all the marauders path, as it was mostly the same. I choose to 'test' the new resistances instead of try to power level for the most part, yes I lost some, but those deaths wasn't really from low resistances, just poor play, at least imo. I got a party invite a few days before this event by someone and decided Id try that, as I've never actually played as a group. That was, shall we say... interesting. Maybe Ill comment on that somewhere else. I believe I did merviel with negative resists every single time past cruel, and maybe in cruel once. With a decoy and just being melee, its mostly a piece of cake. The lightning boss in sins 3, well he still hits hard, and ruthless is harder then mercyless I felt like, not sure why, maybe it was gear but I don't think so. Its a tricky boss with low resists as you can only take one or two at max hits, depending on build (granted most builds seem to focus on just getting resists) anyway, I wouldn't want to facetank him even with full resists, though I think with great gear its possible, just don't quote me on that as I might be wrong. I did try to get some resists for Vaal, always best to avoid his attacks anyway, no need to play with him. He isnt as bad after the nerf though, you can build to survive him rather easily now, well as a melee anyway. Brutus was the same as normal pretty much, I never bother with resists on him, Im not sure if fire would help on his wave or not? But it hurts if it hits regardless, I just avoid it. Never bother with them for the run through western forest, I don't find the suciders that much of a threat, not either of the bandits I fight. I sided with Oak every time for the HP. Well in my original group I did kill oak with the witch in favor of siding with the resist bandit, but realized it wasn't really needed and the hp was still far better to get, and did so on the other 2 maras. Marauder one
Spoiler
Died in my initial group as a 44 while doing sins 3 boss at 5% resistance in ruthless. I took at least 2 hits while I had my hand off my mouse and was scratching my back. I was rather shocked it took that much, he can be a deadly boss even with resists.
Marauder two
Spoiler
Second one died at 43 in ruthless. I was rather careless trying to rush content running to way points and was caught off guard by a pack, or two really close, that had triple rares, with auras, fast attack, one set me one fire with one arrow, one punctured me, the other did frost damage, but thankfully did not freeze me. I took too much damage from just the initial attacks, probably thanks to auras and extra damage mods, with puncture there was no running, with them hot my trail, there was no staying put, it was time to meet the ancestors :) I really wish I had been paying attention, would have been a nice battle. But hey, most people have there newb moments.
Marauder three
Spoiler
Not much to say, did several boss's with negative resists again for the lols. Ended up with 41% lightning resists, and up to I think 66/64% on fire/ice. Surprisingly made it into maps, and got to Lv70 with almost 10 minutes left in the event.
So, having said it didn't make it any harder, and hey it is a little harder at once I would like to conclude... not bad, not bad at all. Keep up the good work GGG. On the nerf to GS, yes something was needed, but I think changing its attack speed to being tied to the weapon should have been the first thing (see below), then maybe a minor damage nerf. Its not a super big deal in end game, but I really felt it starting in the last 3 hour. Ill refrain further commenting on it until I do further playing, *cough*, I mean testing. Currently everyone stops at the lv57 maul, as it has the highest damage potential for GS, since attack speed on the weapon don't matter, if it was made to matter, it would encourage progression in weapons, and into the harder to get end game weapons. I think that would be a great thing. I would like to comment on this power level issue. We have people calling people hackers for having two computers and running a client on each, seriously?!? As far as I know, infact every mmo I can think of, actually allows you to multi box, use a piece of software that sends commands from one master screen or whatever to the secondary, and other screens, or whatever you want to call it. I've never used software to do that, I have ran mutli client on a PC, it can be pretty fun. Especially in a game where grouping is a big deal, like for quests and its very low pop in that area or level range or what ever. The issue isn't that it seems, but I imagine it could quickly become that once OB hits and the number of players explode. I myself see no reason to make such illegal or against the rules. I also could understand if GGG does decide to do that. Now, lets talk about this multi client thing... So people have been using lv1 alts to power level in maps... Is that not a somewhat obvious thing to do? There is several obvious things that could be done to discourage this, but you really cant make a party system that totally disallows it, because lets face it, thats what partying is for, multiple people to play together. Maybe they will add level requirements to advance to the next difficulty, maybe a more complex xp formula averaging levels and what not so you get no gain with a low level toon, or maybe just not give the benefits if your too far away. Eventually when there are players coming to a new game here and trying to multi box, as there are some out there that just do that, well see that wont stop them from benefiting, as all there toons will be in range, and pretty much the same level. I suggest a system that keeps it fair for them, and the solo goers, and normal party players. Thats very complicated to do... I really want to see how GGG handles this, as different and unique as this game is, well I have faith they can make it work. Most of this abuse, if not all occurs in maps, making each map worth more, and to me, I hardly ever use more then 2 portals anyway, so using several extras to boost xp would totally be worth it. Perhaps one thing that could be done would be lowering the portals, and then having a system where you use currency to add more, possibly as a mod on the maps. Would require groups to pay for there advantage to a extent or players with high iiq who wants more then a couple ports to pay for the extra loot to bring back. Its not perfect, and has many flaws also, but its a thought. Id also mention, my first maras group went through at a fairly casual pace and everyone in it pretty much stayed top 10 or close to it until they logged off. The xp gain in a group is just insane, no need to power level or be organized at all. I even had party member's I was muted with and we still leveled as fast as I could power level solo, seemingly without effort. I cant imagine what a six man organized group that plays as effective as say Panda could do. In three hours I would not be shocked to see them get into Ruthless ledge farming. It also felt a lot safer, at least until I completely removed my hand from the mouse to scratch my back in the middle of a boss fight, haha. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

All this TEbird is a hacker shit makes me want to say, the day he got his lvl 1s through to merci I was on mumble with him. He said his original post that mentioned this was possible, seemed to be completely ignored so he wanted to prove a point. The point he proved was a top 3 finish when he talked about how he usually finishes top 20, outside of top 10 in these races because he doesn't push as hard as the people at the top.
At that time, I got the sense he wanted to cause the uproar that is going on so this would be stopped ASAP. I played with him early game and late game, I get the sense that he plays like I do, get to the top through persistent play. Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th Null's Inclination Build 2.1.0 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1559063 Summon Skeleton 1.3 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1219856 |

" There are vendor recipes. There is a recipe 2-3 rares of the same name. Complete unid sets or id sets. Also a hacker is somebody who writes tools and most likely doesn't even play the game a cheater is one that uses them. Using such sites only makes you scum. Such virtual currency sites ruin games even more than 3rd party tools do. Races: Unfair advantages by out of game trades. Don't wonder then if purchased leagues will be no party no trade leagues then. Trading: It breaks the mechanics how trades are intended and if there is no stance against it people will be forced to use dirty virtual currencies. Ethical Transactions: Instead of buying additional stashtabs people will just offer them for fools gold to create some room. Great idea to ruin the game how it should finance itself. Why not suggesting buying "friendaccess functions" so people can buy levelservices done by bots and receive fools gold. " Looking at discussion boards of games that ended up in cheating festivals show more than enough cheating screens. You may get banned if you post links to hacks because the site owner doesn't want to be visited by lawyers for distributing 3rd party software. He acutally paid hackers to write a bot for him which he sold for Diablo2 and ruined end of 1.09 Post 1.10 Diablo2 with it. He stopped to distributing it after he found out that Blizzard took legal stances against known hackers. " Even promoting that site..... " Amulets don't have a level description after their name. " You talk about being competive? You are nowhere being competive with it. Diablo runs take 1-2 minutes Baalruns 3-5. Doing that by hand takes forever also D2 got a 4 ip on a game restriction so you had to use proxies. Even if you filled 8 characters its just a 4 player bonus if they weren't in the same area. That's nowhere being competive. " Was your account Pinocchio? Face it you started playing after 1.10. 1.08 was a really short patch, because several items were too powerful also it had massive bugs. Try to be more believeable and same famouse 1.08 bugs that didn't made it into the patch log. There are quiet famous ones and you will have a hard time finding them. Cows had to be done to progress and Chaos Sanctuary gave no experience after level 87, especially if you skipped Diablo, also end of 1.09d(Yeah 1.09 had 3 subpatches) the lowest characters in the classig Top1000 were level 94. Also 56k modems made D2 unplayable because all was needed to disconnect D2 players was a necromancer that skilled lower resist or other large area curses to drop them. That was a common thing to do. Also you don't seem to know that every patch till 1.10 did major rebalances in skills. " PoE doesn't have a problem but the devs might have and players with ethics do that too. " Oh I will support the game once it's released be sure of it. There is another moral dilemma I have, it's the "paid beta". If major companies find out that they can earn extra money by creating paid betas this will create a new strategy for games where the name itself is selling. For example pay 20 bucks to get beta access and pay 60 bucks for the full game. Even only 25% of the customers are paying for beta access thats 1/12 more income. And because marketing experts are smart they could "trash the first beta" say something like "The game didn't look like we wanted it to look, they will kick in another "Real Beta" which has to be paid after some months. Activision-Blizzard still got one game left where the reputation of the game will sell itself. I think this is quiet dangerous because it will affect the quality of future games. Big companies can create terrible games on purpose to get negative feedback. "Fire" the old team and create a "new" one create another bad "unfinished" game. Or even worse paid alpha, beta, "prerelease full beta". Getting money 4 times. Do you really want highly anticipated games get delayed for 1-2 years because the publisher thinks he must get additional money with corpses of a game. Best example is how many people got into the Kony2012 merchandise trap, while many critical reports were unnoticed by most people. If major companies force coders to write terrible games there will certainly be coders that are so sad that they can't be proud of their work that they will create anonymous reports that the company orders them to write terrible games and yet they will remain unnoticed. " Why not mentioning more game breaking factors? You think the botterboard isn't gamebreaking? The botterboard is like cancer that has to be removed before it's to late. Also you aren't the first one mentioning those weaknesses. When I returned for 1.11 in D2 a short time I didn't get what "FG" is but people wanted to have one. At first I was thinking they could mean flawless gems but when I showed them those I got "lol noob". The botterboard totally ruined Diablo2. Ingame trades literally became impossible and your items got worthless because of botters. 2005 had a good restart and the biggest loss of players within 1 week because of fools gold. " I am a HC player I know how to avoid situations and how to create good defensive builds. The problem I got is that a short delay gets another scum into the game besides foolsgold scum called PK scum on a non Cut-Throat server. If you add a delay that will be the end for public HC parties because some PKs will just create unsafe tps and promise or sell help on higher difficulties but in reality they create deadly tps you can't escape in 3-5 seconds. Just look what the 10 second delay did to Diablo3 HC. Even Inferno is quiet a pointless due lack of equipment people will start to pk characters in hell with unsafe spawnpoints. Just google something like "Project pony" and you will see what I mean. PoE got the same weakness because characters will create special Maradeurs to with leap attack decoy totem and Immortal call just to create unescape tps that will result into a rip within 3 seconds. Another point while it may help against normal chicken hacks it will do nothing against chicken tools that incude automatic potting. Then you had to icrease the delay even more because players will generate potions with instant recovery on low life and trigger automatic potting on <35% life till the timer reaches zero. |

" 3 pages of rabid noise and posturing omitted. What I would like for you to do is take a step back and think. This guy you're attacking here is one of the most anti-cheat players out there. Most people, learning of an exploit, have one of two reactions: 1) "How can I benefit from this?" 2) "Ew, this ruins the game for me, f that" Bird goes "Well, we'd better make sure people know about this!" And makes a personal project of educating you about it. Understandably, this behavior focuses quite a bit of hate in one's direction. I know this from experience. But it's productive. What you've done is fooled yourself into believing this person has sinister motives. Instead of getting hate from the cheaters he's trying to undermine, somehow they've recruited YOU to do it for them. You've gone back into the past, and found what? Screenshots that could be used to demonstrate mechanical imbalances in d2? A screenshot of what else? Demonstration of some exploit or another? And your thought is to blackmail this person? Get real. Fast forward to NOW. Look at what's going on NOW. Look at what bird did LAST WEEK, and all the information he placed on the forums during that time. Be thankful that the devs care about their game. There was something else here, then I thought better of it. Let a man walk alone - Let him commit no sin. Let him bear few wishes, Like an elephant in the forest. " I'm one that helped TeBird get alts to maps, (I even got 1 there myself) to help prove this point. I asked Tebird when we had about 10 hours left in the race. "Hey did you want me to use my 2 guys, and your 2 guys to push you to #1?" His answer was "Nope, we already got people talking about it on the forums and we did what we needed to do." That was the end of it. Guess what? Others were already starting to do this tactic of "boosting" including the current people in the top 10. That's how important this change is. In fact I know for a fact at least 5 of the top 10 did this tactic at some point in the race. Including, #1 and #2. FYI we took about 10 or so hours out of the race just to get this boosting worked out correctly too. P.S. How do we ignore people on the forums? Last edited by MrDDT#4590 on Oct 1, 2012, 11:57:43 PM
