Consolidated Feedback After A Year Of Playing
I really liked it.

Great one, you wrote what i feel about most of the listed points and issues.
As a feedback to your feedback, also playing solo most of my time, i think Hybrid Armor - AR/EV Hybrid melee worked, at least with shield, before last patch. Now i dont feel like reserving 400 health on grace. As Purity, Determination, Hatred are mandatory/superior in terms of defense, grace is out and nothing much (<30% eva) is left of beeing Hybrid. So i half agree. Mob abilities - There are some more great mobs that give you the oppurtunity (or sometimes force you) to act differently to standard brainsmashing. Lighning warpers, Tit-Gattlings, the almighty roah, Thorn mages... - I also dont understand, and wont ever, how rolling desyncs made it into the game. Worst case of quality check. Balance - At least melee dps is good now. Path of Lifenodes still sucks. BiS - I dont like the d2 all unique(/runewords) approach... everyone and every second build wearing the same shit, no diversity. So, stop the BiS crap. BiS is okay, if you want do something particular, like chargemaxing etc. But not this general, all typical archers go lioneyes crap. The item is much too affordable for its overwhelming strength. You will never go to link your 140% phys thicket, when you can get the BiS for those very orbs. Others like Kaoms suck too, but at least its rare like... Microtransactions - I like many and hate some (flashy crap) of the transactions. I dont like the pricing. Locations - Act3 is awesome, aside the areas with the cockroaches. The side areas need incentives though. Maybe get them all to max content level, too. I can imagine the game becomes quite boring for the non-mappers with docks/lunaris all the time. - Someone brought up the idea of an endless tower just for leveling, while maps are for loot, i like that idea. Skills - Forever wheeping for Arc... |

Agree with most everything you have said, especially regarding RNG and the Map system - the two systems that to me, ruin the game or at least keep it from becoming the game it could become. Personally I believe we need a lot more outcry on those topics, and general balance issues, and not so much about desync - I do not think desync will ever be 'fixed' but they can balance the game, make drops/self found play rewarding, and actually turn the map system into the 'end game' they announced it to be.
Great post Lethal. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

" Pretty good point here. I have/had friends in the leagues who wanted me to play but I didn't like the idea of starting a character over with nothing for four months just to end up back in standard where I was more quickly getting what I wanted. I probably wouldnt have a problem with the drops if it wasn't for magic find builds. Close the gap on magic find and the game will feel better to everyone. Standard Forever

I found myself in agreement with every point. There are a few more which bother me as well...
1) Desync - yes, we know they're working on it, I read it in a patch footnote on a subforum buried on page 15 of a thread somewhere. But to those of us out there experiencing it every time we try to level in an indoor area, or using a high-desync skill - it'd be nice to know it's actually a priority for them, rather than only being worthy of a patch footnote buried in a forum somewhere. 2) Unique item double-ups: Aside from the massive anti-climax of picking up a unique to "Oh, it's just that" removing all of the fun of finding certain uniques, the whole way they implement these is quite worrying... Of course I'm referring to the Infernal Mantle fiasco - where someone paid them $1000USD to design an item, only for GGG to stick Shav's on the same base and release that first. The result being that the item designer was bombarded with hate mail by the entire community for doing nothing other than wanting to contribute to the game (and paying a lot of money to do so!). 3) the Storyline - it doesn't feel like there is one. I know that if you sit around and listen to the NPCs for a (very long) while, they start to put together a tangled mess of non-sequitors and lore... But, it doesn't flow well into the character's experience, it doesn't feel like there is any experience. You can try and listen to a weathered carving when you see one, but good luck standing still and uninterrupted for 2 minutes (or however long it takes for them to complete). I know this point in particular isn't important to many players, but no one has yet to convince me how having a good story actually detracts from a game :) Finally, it feels like GGG are very happy to give quick, one-line/paragraph feedback on safe topics, but incredibly reluctant to do so at all on things like in this thread: very real, very addressable issues... As an aside, with a pretty masochistic desire to make Arc viable, I did make progress by exploiting all of the cookie cutter tricks I could: Dual Totem, Dual Curse (Conductivity + Ele weakness), Low Life, RF... and it works (it only needs a Shav's to be viable *cough*)! but it's nowhere near as fast as its sporking cousin... even if it looks much cooler :D Last edited by theiansanity#2923 on Aug 24, 2013, 1:45:02 AM

Great summary unfortunately after all this time not addressing many of those systems, notably in closed beta, I really doubt GGG is going to go there now. No hint of a drive to turn their decent but ultimately throwaway ARPG into the great game it could and should be.

Excellent feedback, I don't think there was any (Or much) that I don't agree with.

Great feedback, lethal, and agree on pretty much everything you said especially about life nodes, keystones, and the passive tree in general. I'd say more, but really all I'd end up doing is being redundant to what you said, though I will add that auras are in desperate need of fixing right now. They're too important for the most part, and with the whole fixing of the Alpha's Howl exploit (and eventually the complete fix of running auras off BM gear then switching out method) it will show even more just how much build diversity has been overly reliant on aura stacking. If there isn't proper compensation given to builds that relied on auras - and not talking about OP, broken builds - then things are going to keep on shrinking.
