BloodMagic from gear swap broken!

It seems like this patch has broken the use of alternating gear to use bloodmagic for auras.

I am using Malachai's Sumula, swap it in to cast 3 auras, then swap it out to cast another 3 on mana, and when I zone out (town and back to same zone, or straight to a new zone) the auras I had applied using BloodMagic get moved over to mana, and the ones I applied via mana are completely gone (as there is probably not enough mana left for them now, as I had been moving around a reduced mana gem as well).

I am not sure if this is expected behaviour, but this doesn't work anymore.

Same issue here - was this an intended behavior with the patch? I didn't see anything in the release notes?

Just to add - I am also doing the swap technique with Malachai's Simula.

Rip lowlife, and rip the two blood magic items. Completely garbage if it's intended.

Fixed a bug where auras would not update when you changed area with a different aura level and setup than that which you cast the aura with.

So different setup would imply gear swaps I guess.

It still works in the same zone, so low life and bloodmagic aura swaps isn't nerfed completely. It just means you need to recast everytime.
lol this has been spammed on the forums the last 5 days...what did you guys think everyone was talking about....of course if you are not a forum reader you are excused :)

If you loose blood magic, then your skills no longer reserve life rather than mana, so they will revert to mana when they notice this. Currently this only occurs on changing area, but in future we hope to eliminate this completely by having it update if the aura is currently on you at the time of the change.

In short, yes, this is intended, and was in the patch notes.
If you want to gain the benefit of a piece of gear, you should be wearing that gear. If you take it off, you should no longer gain benefits from it.
Not a forum reader :( sorry.

I skimmed the patch notes earlier but missed the whole "setup" part. I was happy that when I lvled my gems they would now update, but I can live with having to recast everytime I think. At least for now.

Uggggh, I get why, but then what is the point of Simulacra and Covenant, design wise?
