Been playing
for a while now just to see how the build does on higher tier maps(tier 9+)Build:6 linked lioneyes ice shot>WeD>PPAD>LMP>PtL>FA, dead eye with ricochet and far shot.Hatred + herald of ashes and flame golem.
At lower levels ice shot is awesome, at higher levels it falls off harder than the waterfall at niagra falls. There are much better skills to use that do way more damage and are way more efficient. Iceshot just doesn`t cut it at higher levels of gameplay.
I have no experience with tornado shot, but i think ice shot is just fine. My friend uses lioneyes damage level bow (just a little better) on tooltip does somewhere between 40k - 50k, including far shot and hypothermia its above 80k and with gg bow it would be twice as much. I wouldnt advice going for multiple elements without a good chunk of penetration, it just doesn't work when resistances starts to skyrocket.
Why is this the only elemental "shot" that doesn't convert 50% of physical to its element and thus scaling quite less with support gems and passive skills that increase elemental damage?
The initial hit is just 10% behind, and the cone Converts 100%.

This skill's projectile should have not been affected by the AoE nerfs.

It has come to the point where my character will actually miss targets further away than a few meters, not because of low accuracy, but because the hitbox just passes by them. And that's with 2x Omen of the Winds stacked.

A bit silly.
Can GGG clarify the exact unit radius for the aoe cone?
On poewiki, Lighting Arrow's secondary explosion has a base radius of 18 units.
How about Ice Shot's cone? How many units is its radius?
Also, at what percentage of increased area modifiers do we hit the diminishing returns for this skill?

With 2x omen + witch aoe node + Increased Aoe gem, I'm at 126% aoe.
With dying sun + pathfinder 50% increased flask effect, I'm at 171% aoe.

visually, I see no difference in the size of the cone when I pop the flask.

Please change the Pierce from the treshold jewels to 2 projectiles each for a free GMP instead.

Free pierce is overall a net loss since the gem actually gives damage instead of taking away.

That's all this skill needs.
We don't need pierce on Omen of Winds, we need AOE. I looked for the promised cone and I'm not sure it even exists when I looked for it after my hit connected. Let me explain it this way: I used ice shot and lmp while leveling, then switched to lightning arrow. Lightning arrow was superior by far because it targets nearby enemies.

Alternatively, just make the cone actually deal damage I didn't see any impact when I shot at point blank range while surrounded by mobs. Right now ice shot is more like an inferior version of barrage with built in pierce.
