Why I'm quitting PoE and no longer recommending it to friends
I'm also one of those people who will probably never attain a 5S/5L/6S/6L unless I happen to loot it or buy it from someone (as I did just recently with a 5L white chest from a friend).
Reason being is that it costs way too much time to grind for 200, 300, 400, 800 jeweler's and fusing orbs when I can spend that time better to advance my characters or make new characters. While I would LOVE to have a 5L/6L, it's not a goal I can reasonably work for knowing that I'm working for a chance at upgrading my stuff. I'm also apprehensive in upgrading my stuff to a 4L at times because it can take over 10-20 orbs of fusings to link a 4L. People believe that a 4L is incredibly strong, and I agree, but 5L is FAR more stronger and allows for more customization that a 4L doesn't quite have. I agree that 6L is something that's probably unecessary and for that I don't mind grinding for, but 5L isn't something I'd want to grind for either knowing the amount of times it would to beat the RNG. 5Ls are becomming a lot more standard from what I see, and for good reason. And I'm sure I'm not the only to experience frustation and fear at upgrading equipment because of a RNG mechanic. For Ranger build tips, tactics, and critiques, visit this thread:

If you would settle for a plain white 6L, than buy one.
When a dev states that if there was a vendor recipe for 1500 fusings, I take that to mean it is supposed to be hard to obtain. That would be option #2 btw, grind for a long time for orbs. It was not as you say a FOURTH SUGGESTION. Quit talking about "me speaking for the devs". When a dev states 1500 orbs, and I say it's supposed to be hard to obtain, that's a pretty good inference. Considering 1500 orbs is currently quintuple the average amount it takes. Which last time I read sits at 300. Only godly items should be rolled to 6L. Currently, I have a 904ES chest, 3L+2L. That would be an item that would be worth sinking jewelers and fusings into. That is what I meant. This is the last time I will post in this thread, since it would appear you fail to understand the basics. The only replies you state are 1) quit speaking for the devs. (which I clearly haven't) 2) It's the endgame (For you, but not for everyone) So here's a tip: Save your currency and buy a base 6L. You said yourself you would be happy with this, so why haven't you done it? A godly item is not one with 6L btw, it is a combination of the stats + the links and socket colors that are needed for your toon. If you're dying so frequently, that you do not gain xp when farming, well, maybe you shouldn't have built a glass canon. |

" If it's so easy to buy, why do you care whether it's easy to acquire on one's own? Do you not see the contradiction there? "It should be super-duper hard to get one. Oh, but you can just buy one." " If a dev suggests a recipe for 1500 fusings, I take that to mean a recipe for 1500 fusings. A recipe for 1500 fusings is exactly that, no more, no less. 1500. If you gather 1500 fusings, you get a 6L. There's no confusion, no obfuscation, no element of chance. 1500. 6L. Simple. Direct. Painless. " Quit speaking for the devs, and I'll quit accusing you. When a dev states 1500 orbs, I take that to mean 1500 orbs. Whether or not the dev thinks that's "hard to obtain" is for the dev to decide. So far, he hasn't said whether he thinks that's hard or easy. Thus, I, unlike you, do not attempt to infer whether the dev thinks that's hard or easy. That's because I, unlike you, do not attempt to speak for the devs. " Currently, I'd take a Cursed Breastplate of -100000 Armor with 6L on it. That would be an item worth sinking every single object of value that I've ever acquired ever in the history of my play of this game into creating. That's how pathetically desperate I am to acquire one. But that, too, is WHOLLY IRRELEVANT as pertains to what the DEV thinks is an appropriate cost for a 6L. Only the dev can speak the dev's mind. Not you, not me, not the dev's mom. Just that dev; and, only for himself, since even the devs apparently don't agree on all issues (which I can state factually, as I can quote a dev as stating such). " Oh, no, it's the dread "This is my last post" post. Let's see, I think your next post will start with, "I was going to no longer post here, but you MADE me reply because you said..." " Yes, you should indeed quit speaking for the devs, since you clearly haven't quit. " What, there's more to the game I haven't seen yet? Are there dragons? I like dragons. " Here's a tip: Stop giving tips. Instead, give your opinion, and call it that. I'm not at all interested in your advice, your inferences or your gut feelings. I am, to some miniscule degree, interested in your opinion. And, though it pains me to admit it, I'm compelled by my own ethics to defend your right to express that opinion, however warped and twisted that opinion will invariably turn out to be, so long as it's done so with courtesy and respect. So say what you think, and be done with it. " Then please tell me how to create a build that will prevent me from dying from lag and disconnects. I am going to lock this thread, only because the title is no longer relevant to what is being discussed in a direct way.
Please start a separate thread to discuss the issues perceived, with the system, based on RNG and skill allocation. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."
