You should make it a bit clearer in the OP thread
"
9. Increased item rarity DOES NOT work on Burning Miscreations
10.Increased item quantity DOES NOT work on Burning MIscreations
Is this somehow verified? What i have read is Chris saying this: 'we are aware of this and are hoping to resolve this matter, kills by burning are made by an effect of the skill, not the skill itself, hence linking item rarity / quantity gems does not apply to the kills made by DOTs, however the item rarity and item quantity from gear are still applicable and function'
Taking that into account you should add the word 'gem' into both of those sentences unless you have some information that would state otherwise.

This guide is outdated. IIQ and IIR gems now work correctly with Degen Kills.

I would love an updated version of this build as well if anyone is running it. I just started up my summoner again and realized how powerful the unrighteous fire guys are after raising them in Cruel Act 3.

Check out Matt's guide here, it focuses on burning miscreation spectres: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/409940
Plenty of experienced summoners post there and can help if needed.

Sorry i'll just ask this here out of the blue, but what is GGG's stance on using these spectres? To me they seem completely broken, i've seen quite the streamers now just cruise through 76-78 maps with them. To me they seem too powerful.

After patch 1.0.2 there were some changes to the DOT system.
-Previously, modifiers to damage dealt applied only to damage on hits unless they specifically said otherwise (for example, Increased Burning Damage).
-Generic modifiers to damage dealt will now apply to damage over time that your character causes. Damage over time is not spell damage, nor attack damage, so modifiers specific to those types will not apply. Non-specific "increased damage" modifiers will apply to damage over time. Type-specific modifiers will apply as well. For example, "increased fire damage" modifiers will apply to fire damage over time.
That means minion damage works with burned miscreations now right?
Will this guide be updated for the new patch?
BTW - thanks for all of the great information you have provided. It really helped.
sorry if this has already been answered but i can confirm that minion damage does now work with BM's.
did the hillock test 13.3 secs w/o minion damage. 10.4 secs with it.
