Evasion Isn't bad - A Revolutionary Breakthrough
" As I said a while back, I have. And I believe it's pretty much exactly the same being armor melee vs. evasion melee from my experience, at least up to a3 merciless (level 57). The bottom line will always be this: "If your gear sucks, you die." Whether you are armor or evasion it doesn't matter the majority of the time. Obviously if you have all armor gear and armor nodes and you get pure evasion gear, it's going to be crappy (without IR). But if you have stacked dex and stacked evasion nodes, evasion is very viable and I don't think that defaulting to Iron Reflexes, for any reason, is a good way to approach building your character. Also, a lot of people are talking about rangers too because of the recent ranger tree buffs. The ev % + life % nodes are very nice. Thanks for the great discussion guys. It's been fantastic :). Aegis Aurora doesn't need craploads of ES to function; remember that AoE reflect is numerous small hits, so if you have enough ES to absorb a single monster's reflect (not much) you should do fine with AA against reflect. Hit ten things simultaneously for 10k elemental damage? After 75% resists that's 2.5k, after reflect that's a little under 500, which times ten would all but insta-gib you... but with AA, 500 ES, and 75% block you'd actually be pretty darn safe (although I guess once in a billion times you'd get thwapped pretty hard). And yes, we all know Vaal Pact has near-zero downside for ES, but that doesn't mean it can't work with life builds either. I've done it, it's alright. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I have some specfic quesions concering evasion and I hope somebody can answer them:
1, How does the Chance to hit-Evasion formula has changed since the last patch? I exspect that the 0,8 exponent has changed, but I dont know the exact formular 2, what is the max chance to evade(interesting because of ondars guile) 3, Does evasion also reduce Crits from >ELEMENTAL SPELLS< (I doubt it but somebody in this thread made an unclear statement concerning this) |

" Maybe if you get out of 66 maps and do other mods besides extra pack size / rares / maze / monsters cannot be stunned, yeah lol -res, extra 80-100 % as fire / cold / lightning (this is ALL damage, so even a 3-4k physical hit from kole fx), 25-35% extra dmg, boss dmg / 2bosses / gmp, then champs or rares with damage, crit damage, damage aura, and curses like EW / vulnerability. A puncture can hit for 4-5k / second with damage mods. Puncture itself isnt effected by armor, but it is based on damage *taken*, 30-150% of that if moving or not. So armor helps IMMENSELY. IF you dont even notice its on you and move, or have to move anyway, evasion is in big shit. A flicker kraityn, or map oak, with extra ele dmg, boss dmg, dmg mod, and a rare pack with dmg aura near them, for example ... or same for carnage ... or a pack of titty bitches with dmg, dmg aura, -res map and extra ele dmg, and savage / deadly mods on vuln map ... one shoot evasion character fest. Try this and come tell me it isnt true ^^ The precinct boss will prolly come close to oneshot most eva chars on a crit without any map mods lol. Her damage is out of this world whack, the physical portion of LS is insane. Evasion, especially melee, just isnt endgame material, and by endgame I mean highest level maps with craziest mods. Evasion has little to no physical mitigation and relies on not getting hit only as a defense. Evasion also has no vaal pact (and not necessarily massive damage to make good use of it anyway), which is basically the single thing besides heavy mitigation that can let you facetank the craziest stuff in the game, because your bulb is always going back to full during combat as long as you are engaging and aoeing mobs. " Your whole argument doesnt take into consideration endurence charges and Granites of Iron skin which are available to everybody. I have played up to 73 Maps(RNG is not kind to me)with my alch em and run em strategy, only avoiding blood magic, and I must say the only difficulty is the white mobs because of evasions entropy. I facetank the bosses because they hardly ever hit me. The only mildly tough boss is the perpetus boss because of the physical spell damage. But thats why I run EC, IC, GoIS, and for the punctures, granite of staunching. Evasion works, Evasion melee CAN work, melee in general just needs a bit of help. |

Actually evasion is bad.
Get a char to 90 on onslaught league pure evasion build only then will it not be bad. Oh wait just as I thought. A bunch of softcore forum heroes talking absolute BS. Keep linkin that standard league gear LMFAO Nothing to see here move along |
