I took out the strikethroughs. and then listed my opinion on the different ones.
Edit: Wow this is huge.

The Amazing List of Ideas
General:
- DPS & damage taken meters to see how you are doing and/or what killed you.Yes, maybe kept track client side and a time limit of 30 seconds or so? Thinking like league of legends here. I would only have this pop up on death.
- The ability to create private chat groups: "/join SuperCoolPeopleOnly" (Credits to Cremice).Interesting, Would be cool to see this, D2 had something similar with their channels. basically users could create their own channel name, give the name out to friends and anyone with the name could join, Be useful for Guilds to have an open chat channel to others in or out of a guild. With people making their own there could be less global channels as people won't use them.
- Hunting Mini-Quest(s): I think adding some mini-quest(s) where you have to hunt down exotic beasts hiding in Wraeclast would be interesting side-quest adventures for players tired of grinding maps. Feel free to take this idea and run with it! (Adaptation of Drkzaleos). Not sure it fits the game style.
- Inventory auto-sort (Credits to loCurnus). Not likely, be cool, but coding wise would be annoying. Simple to do after you have a system yourself. Biggest items first to top corner, (2 wide by 4 tall), then slightly smaller (2 wide by 3 tall) next to them all toughing the top, then insert smallest items at the fit from the lower corner underneath and out.
- The option (please note how "option" is underlined) to have floating combat text (Credits to Hoolilol).Sounds cool, but no rush.
- An ability to create a build on the online passive tree calculator, then import it in-game. Applying an online build in-game can get rather meticulous (Credits to Kurtlolz).Sounds good but I have no idea how to implement this. Would also like to see a summary of the passive tree effects (so all +% life orbs added together, and skill effects list in a list form instead of having to travel the map and add it up yourself.
- Mercenary followers. You could further increase POE's itemization and storyline complexity by having little followers that talk to you and fight. They don't have to be human followers. In fact, you could add an entire "mercenary appearance" section in microtransactions. No, We have minion skills and stuff, The fact that skills are gems could make this an issue.
- A notes tab on each character for reminders and build ideas. (Credits to muzzol)This really needs to be done on the community side, Make a separate webpage and people can make their own builds and have the option of keeping them private or sharing them, and let others rate and comment on them. Have a fan site like this for League of legends.
- The Self Found League - Can only use the items you yourself found, no trading & items are destroyed when you throw them on the ground (if other players are near). (Credits to polymortis)I would love this, though for items being dropped by self I would prefer them to just be instanced. This should have no child leagues and just be standard would be my guess. Make it minimal maintenance for them heh. (maybe give a standard self found child league at same time as other change optional that will merge into the self found parent league.)
- Ability to move the chatbox around the screen, change it's colors, it's shape, etc. I still think it is very basic and unpolished.Yes. Please.
Quality of Life & Bug Fixes:
- Option to always show item level without having to pick it up and type /itemlevel.Would like this, just text at the bottom of the item description. Would fix all other item level issues. Since we can get this information through a command it's not a secret. I deleted all other Item level lines as this is my single solution to all of it.
- Search box for stash to easily locate items, gems, or currency (Credits to Kurosag1).Using item names/types only. This makes it easier to program and just have it make a list of tabs matching items are found on or highlight the tabs until you click another option saying "finished / remove highlights" / semi permanent search box with the x to clear that.
- Ability to set loot to a permanent default state other than SA (FFA, SA, PA - so you don’t accidentally enter a map with the wrong loot setting).Should be done client side (so if you switch computers you'll need to double check, but basically add it to the option menu.
- Permanent small ping on your navigation map when uniques and maps drop (until they are picked up).Have the option of typing a command to get this ping. I can understand kiting a really ansty pack and trying to run back to see what dropped where and possibly not remembering how far you ran (old loot vs new loot) But not a perm ping.
- When you hover over a gem, make it tell you how many of those gems you already have in your stash.Hit or miss, don't really care.
- Allow quicksilver flasks to be consumed in town.Yes please.
- Item highlighting on inventory screens: rares get a yellow hued background, uniques gold, etc. Similar to Diablo 3.Yes please.
- Prevent people from advertising their trades via party names; it makes it more difficult to find groups and detracts from gameplay.Good luck implementing, But do we have a separate list of parties that are marked trades? Add a report function for people that aren't categorizing their parties and result being banned from making parties for a week or something. Also option to change party name while in a party (might exist)
- Gauge that shows the % of map completed (can base this on total number of monsters remaining or % of map explored). The /remaining feature doesn't help much if there are more than 20 monsters.Only at greater then 75% should this pop up. have it be a command instead of a meter and if less then 75% just have it say less then 75% completed... So people can't see the size of a map from barely getting into it, but if mostly done, they know how much is remaining.
- Ability to see player names on player navigation map (I bolded this because it's probably my biggest frustration with POE. Only EVERY GAME EVERYWHERE has this feature. Please add it!!).This. By far this should be done. Everyone has an X already, and it's linked to the characters, having the name pulled over should work or someone elses color idea of color coding the X's to the party members names in the upper left would be fine (might be able to be done client side)
- Making it so that typing slash (e.g. /itemlevel) commands won't remove you from party chat, trade chat, etc. Or at least make party chat the default chat when in a party.Just an option to lock default chat to something and it shouldn't change commends or not. Commands are usually only working on yourself so it's not party of private or general chat. It really should not affect chat default at all....
- The ability to generally move and manipulate items in our inventory while a vendor window is open; there are frustrating limitations when you compare it to the normal stash or inventory window (Credits to hemoglobin1972).Useful, but not high priority.
- The current twitch chat shortkey "^" is annoying. I am now unable to use ^ to reference/agree with the person who typed above me. Additionally, what aboot teh happeh faceees!?!? ^^ (Credits to vTact).I like, but no real opinion (not sure what this is)
- Ability to see ignore list. How are we supposed to see who is currently in there??Also when you put them on the list needs saved. If i ignored someone 1 week ago - 6 months ago because they ticked me off at the moment, I may never run into them again. possibly also notes like friends list.
- The name of the party gets cut off on the social screen; I can't see the rest of the information people put in party names. Ability to scroll to the right would be nice.Yes / scrolling name
- Ability to link what others link in chat (so you can show your buddies and get their opinions on it - price checks, etc.).Yes
- Ability to give someone else party leader. Not sure why this doesn't exist. Should have been a default.
- Display that clearly shows which auras are active as you are selecting the auras in your skill slots: Maybe add the little circular rotating graphic that shows which auras are ON/OFF to the skill selection menu that comes up when you click one of your skill slots. Are you talking about when you rotate the skills in a slot? I would say yes because I can understand going into a zone, you don't need your auras on multiple keybinds if you always want them on.
- Way to message all of your friends at once (/f all).Yes
- Option to temporarily kick a party member to where they can't simply rejoin immediately after you kick them (temporary ban/unban option). Making a party private is NOT a substitute for this; I am sick of hearing that. An option is needed to keep the party open publicly while excluding a troublemaker.Should default to 15 min ban. or have 2 options. A kick with no limit on returning and a ban for until party breaks up.
- Show status ailments under name bar for monsters (see how many shocks you’ve applied, etc.).Sure.
- Show how long ago friends were online. Sometimes you make a friend and then they quit POE for whatever reason and just waste your friends list space forever.Yes, possibly limited, So if not minutes / hours, have it start at 1 day, after it hits a week, just go to 2 weeks / 3 weeks / 1 month / 2 months. So doesn't need a 1 month 1 week option or a 1 week 3 days.
- Physical, Elemental, and Total DPS on weapons. (Credits to Kefkas). Are you thinking d3? we have a dps on the skills which is where it really belongs (including basic attack). So it's done.
- Ability to see passive refund effects on your character stats screen before spending the refund point. Vice versa with spending a passive point.(yes, and a total passive tree summary. all life nodes added, all dex nodes added, so single line and we aren't trying to solo count the nodes ourself (should be in game and on website simulator)
- Ability to select a certain amount from a stack in the trade window. I seriously cannot imagine why this is disabled...No, The reason being If i am trading multiple stacks of currency and i check how much someone put down of the currency I don't want to be forced to recheck and make sure they didn't pull 1 of them out of a stack here or there. Being able to split the currency from your inventory part of the window to throw it in the trade window ok. Means to split it someone will have to take it out and if i'm paying attention I'll notice the pile go away for a bit before it comes back changed.
- When shards stack into an orb, make that orb stack into other orbs rather than creating a new single orb in a new single space (space saver).NO, This honestly sounds awesome. And I agree it would be nice, But I've done coding and this is just asking for possible issues to pop up resulting in currency disappearing. I will explain more below.
- Show which maps are activated on which instance in the Eternal Laboratory instance manager (so you know which one you should join).I'm not that high yet so no opinion. (time stamp of when it was made would probably help. If it's the newest one made then look for the one created last, etc.
- Say who the player was killed by and have the monster insult you: "Crustacean Sniper has killed Neosoph." "Crustacean Sniper: Noob." (Credits to SimonKing)insulting might be too far, I wouldn't like it, players trash talk enough as it is for direct insults, But a cheer maybe with a threat to the others. (Ah ha, I killed him, You are next/I am coming for you) Would like that better.
- Ability to limit # of players that join your party.Yes, Surprised it doesn't exist... We have a limit, just let each player change it for themselves instead of 1 default
- Ability to type text above your head like in Diablo 2. That was a lot of fun!
- Ability to filter who can join party by lvl.Not a big deal, While fun, bottom of the list I would want to see implemented.
- A quick way to reply to the last player who messaged you by typing "/r <text>" or something along those lines (Credits to Cremice).Yes, though another game uses the tab button (not sure if it does something here) and cycles through people that recently messages you on the whisper command, so tab once for last person, tab twice to get next person back, etc.
- Arrows on the edges of the minimap pointing in the direction of your other party members who are outside of the visible map area. If you join a zone you should be able to find your friends quickly without having to scroll all over the map (Credits to Cremice).Yes, and use the color arrow to symbolize people from minimap labeling above. (if you split up for some reason, then if someone needs help you know where to go.)
- Summoning a new creature when you have the maximum number of that creature type should replace the existing creature of that type with the lowest health. If my most recently summoned zombie is about to die, I shouldn't have to summon 4 more just to get them all at max health (Credits to Cremice).Would be nice, for mobs with no time limit only. So mobs that are going to last 30 seconds replace the oldest mob first still, but zombies that last until they die then health check. There are flasks that heal minions would help with this to.
- The option to go /AFK so that players will know you've stepped away and aren't simply ignoring them (Credits to Cremice).an auto response to whispers recieved? yes, and just set it client side.
- An idle timer to display how long a player in your party has been inactive. Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with which players are wasting space idling in town as opposed to which players just went there to buy/sell items (Credits to Cremice).Sounds awesome, but no idea how to implement this really.
- A privacy [stealth] feature so you can hide from everyone if you want to play solo (Credits to Cremice). That would be awesome for some people and a moot point for others.
Maps:
- Map Mod Idea: "Players are drunk" - Players randomly experience blurriness, screen shaking, or random colors.Magic Mushrooms :) lol ok sounds cool.
- Adapted from Faerindel's post: A map (rare drop, maybe unique "Limbo Map") in softcore that you would use to get your 10% experience back after you die. The map has zero IIQ, so no items would drop. It would be a double or nothing type of map where you could earn your experience back, but if you died in there you would lose another 10% on top of what you already lost. The level of the map could be your ilvl (maxed at 77). This item could act as a "get out of jail free" card for dying in softcore and present itself as another form of currency in POE.I can understand this being annoying but I'm going to have to go with a no here. makes it to easy to level at higher levels. Unlike hardcore you aren't kicked out of your league when you die (or in other games deleted), and we have no gold system (which is a good thing) so we need some type of penalty. Either that or put an option to pay some amount of currency before resurrecting to negate the exp penalty (some amount of chaos orbs or something, and the currency amount gets bigger by level.) But the system is designed to not need a currency drain like this so overall thinking no.
- Give maps a time trial incentive: If you complete a map before the timer runs out you are rewarded with a chest or maybe a "Cartographer" NPC that rewards you with maps if you save him/her from the boss in time (Credits to Tuftronic).maybe as a mod on some maps, "Emergency" mod, meaning a hostage needs freed / saved within x time limit (last monster drops the antidote to the poison / rescue from boss pack before killed, get reward).
Microtransactions:
- Helm item effects should replace the helm you put them on. For example, putting ice crown on Alpha's Howl looks terrible. An option to not show helms in-game might alleviate this problem.Invisible helment option (and make it possible to use 2 alterations on an items at once. Ice crown on an artic skull helmet lol, or flaming
Forums:
- Ability to look by last topic in forum profile, not just posts.ok
- More BBCode options. I'm curious why it is so limited? Where are the colors, sizes, strikethroughs, etc?maybe, a list of what exists as strikethrough does exist but not a button at the top. Colors are hex code, go to another website, find your color then alter the code to the hex code.
- Polls (Credits to Schnupfndrache7).If enabled, Only in a specific section of the forum. I've seen forums spammed with bunch of annoying polls they were unusable for other things. So have a polls section.
- Show itemlevel on forums (Credits to xyz).Refer to item level solution at top (add one more row in item description at bottom with the item level.
- Ability to post your entire character (gear, passive tree, stats, etc.) in one click the way you can with items.
- Character counter on signature edit page. It's hard to tell.
- Ability to quote more than one post at a time when you are responding.Would be nice, but if you hit quote and copy and paste that code into a reply box (or use a notepad) you can do it yourself. So atleast we can do the multiple quotes even if it's slightly annoying. (and multiple quote on most forums tends to fail when dealing with posts on different pages so don't care)
Miscellaneous:
- This one is more geared for the community: A spreadsheet that shows what map lvl is most efficient for experience farming at which level (e.g. player lvl 75 would be lvl 70 map, player lvl 80 would be lvl 73 map, etc.) The spreadsheet would show which completed maps will yield the highest % experience at your character level. On the spreadsheet you could also show how experience works in and out of parties. Only player lvl 70-99 would need to be mapped out.As you said community side, Not GGG's job to gather this info, it's our by playing and compiling the data. Could be added to the build sites for notes on a build you are creating (linked to your tree) that i mentioned above as well.
Please bump this thread if you like the ideas!
Ok for the currency messup. I will list how I think it works, and then give 1 example where It's going to break (players fault really, but that fact we can break it at all means it should not happen). Right now the shards combine intot he main stack, if the stack is full it transforms, extra shards take up a new slot in the window / stash tab and if the stasht ab is full they snap back to their original position in the players inventory / other stash tab they came from. So if all slots are full extra stuff ends up where it came from, all is good.
To break this we shall do you idea. So when shards are put into a stack, extra shards a left there and the full orb is moved to a stack of matching orbs. Orbs are less then 20, ok, all is fine. But if the orbs are maxed, it now has to find the next open slot in the stash tab. Stash tab is full, now it must find another open slot. Normally if you moved the full stack of shards, that slot it came from should be open. Ok this could work. But lets say all your stash tabs are full and to mess with the game instead of combining the fulls tack of shards you grabbed 10 of the 15 shards in stack 2 so there are still 5 shards sitting there, and added those 10 shards to the first stack of 11. So there are 2 stacks of partial shards, so no hole was opened and the completed orb has no where to go. Congrats you just broke that system. They could bind the single orb onto the mouse cursor to safe guard this, but the amount of programming this is going to take to make sure no one can break it and no mistakes are made... It is by far easier to keep the simple system in place then to change this and basically invite problems. So while it can be done, the correct answer is to leave it alone (and instead attached the characters to their respective marks on the minimap, which should be a lot easier to program)
