[GUIDE] 1339 Fireball Shotgun/CI Sorc v1.0.0

Post-patch update:

As you are all aware, CI has been nerfed in the most recent patch. Firstly, I adopted the new unique ring PERANDUS SIGNET to counter-act some of the es loss. I was expecting to have to sacrifice some dps for more es nodes, but after playing in the new patch this is not the case. Current es is about 6.8k (was 7.5) and I still absolutely face-tank everything. At level 87, I have reached the point where I would say this build is complete. My DPS at the moment is 9.2k. I may decide to gain additional levels in the future just to hit the 10k mark, but for now i'll just chill around here.

Changed from a sporker to this build, with much better experience than iwas expecting!! Clearing 68-69 maps with complete ease. Working on getting a dream fragment ring now (anarchy league) stun is annoying since no eye on this league. Have about 5.8k fireball Dps. Any tips on increasing Dps? Thanks for the guide!!

Hello. I am glad you were able to enjoy playing this build. For anarchy league, I would recommend going for the Unwavering Stance keystone to avoid the stun issues (for onslaught this is mandatory). 5.8k is a decent amount of dps, but you probably already noticed that. To increase DPS all you can really do is improve your gear and optimize your skill tree. If you would show me what your current skill tree looks like, I can possibly help you optimize it if you haven't already.

Well, there are other ways if you don't mind changing your play style. It's not as streamlined as the way my guide is, but if you're decent at multi-tasking this might be a good solution for you. If you are using FIRESTORM as a support skill, you could use PC on crit gem linked to it instead of linking it to fireball. This frees up a slot on your fireball where you can use Increased Crit Damage gem instead. This will drastically your tooltip DPS; however, you will be forced to alternate attacks in order to maintain your power charges. So as far as effective DPS goes, it probably works out to be roughly the same this way, but your fireballs will be much more powerful.

Alternatively, You could use Increased Crit Damage instead of Faster Projectiles gem. Again, this will increase your tooltip DPS. I personally prefer the FCR and projectile speed that Faster Projectiles gives you, but if you're looking for raw damage, Increase Crit Damage gem would be better for that purpose.

Hi,

Very thanks for your build.

I'm a new player on this game, I just have a Templar 2H mace level 30.
I want to play a witch now.

I play with my brother, Ranger.

Your build It's viable for groupe (2-3 max) ?If we dont have a Tank, it's OK too ?

You play with 2 Wand ?

What is a global stats ? ES, life no because CI (if I understand), Armor ? Resist +70% ?

Sory for my english,
Thanks

Great guide, super helpful player; can't say enough good about this as an aspiring fire CI Witch.

Thanks for the patch-driven updates!

As a new player, you can still enjoy a fireball/CI witch, but understand that you will not get the same results as experienced players with high-end gear. My build provides 6.8k es, 9.2k x3dps, and 79/79/79/100 resists at the moment. As far as groups go, I prefer to play with 2-3 others. Large parties are a hassle to maintain charges and shit has so much extra hp that it no longer dies in 2 hits, so I tend to avoid large groups. This build can easily solo 75+ maps with most mods.

As far as tanking is concerned, once you acquire good equipment, you will be the tank. In order to maximize your damage output, you need to be right in the enemy's face with your fireball shotgun. With over 30000 damage going into enemies and quality life leech, your sustain will be insane especially since nothing can freeze or stun you.
Is infernal Mantle Viable ?

You could use it, a gg rare vaal regalia is much better, though. I'd imagine that the bonus dps it provides would be cancelled out by the additional es nodes you'd probably want to take. I havent tested it, though. There is a guy tho who has a thread in this section called "just 6-l'd my chest....." who managed to get his hands on a 6l mantle. I would suggest asking him how thats goin for him (seems like a nice guy, he'll probably answer your questions).

Will do, thanks. But its hard to find a 6l 1000es tho (a) xD
just wanted to say that this is a decent and well organized guide but....

the gear you linked its just.....expensive.(very much impossible to get for a casual player)

I mean only that 1000 es chest is like thousands of exalts, those wands are like 9-10 exa each.

i dont have any problem with the guide but you might want to add a line that says..the build works even if you dont have 50 exalts:) or something like that.

Right now I'm playing a LS/CI templar, but the way the nodes work i can reach everything by just re-specing the templar. I have about 2/3rd of this gear already. Really wanting to respec to a ranged.

I mentioned the two void batteries idea to kripp on his stream and he suggested "just getting a very good rare wand" (or 2) and seemed to favor a shield over two wands. (probably becasue he plays HC/onslaught) The theory i guess was that unless you always , all the time have your charges up , the epic wand would be better. I'm fairly new (just have one character, the level 80 LS templar) so im not arguing, just thinking out loud.

What was the "nerf to CI" ? Seems like something thats hard to nerf, since its just "immune to chaos damage" how does that get nerfed?

They nerfed ES .. So if you have less ES, CI users got nerfed ( since thats all they have )
