Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

Could you give me some information how to distribute the points towards your build on the way? I am 27 now and I put the 6 points following the attack speed node (@ the beginning) and I am now @ the evasion cluster just west of the starting point. I took all the nodes on the way.

Soon it gets more difficult for me to say which nodes to take.

Your build is nice so far but more squishy than my now level 45 crit ranger was on his way up. But I am looking forward to it.

I´m level 58 and taken the bm node.
Since then i feel more squishy then ever. The level 10 lifeleech with 2% and my 2,8k dps on my LA never bring me more life. I feel i always need to run healing flasks for regen. I also did take armor for life regen and was playing around with life reg totem.
Is this intended?

don't use life leech use life gain on hit
let LA stay at lvlv 1 or lvl 6

so a tradeof

more life and life regen for 5% max res and maybe a bit of dps decrease - maybe even increase coz of the 8% ias more?

Hey! Sorry for the belated response, had a busy week.

I think this is a very legitimate variation of the build. I personally haven't focused on life regen - to me it's more about dealing damage and leeching life than the regen, but I've not tested it so maybe it would be terrific.

With the new resist changes, whether or not Elemental Adaptation is worth the investment/diversion to get is really dependent on one's gear. Clearly there's no value on raising your cap to 80% if you can't even hit 75% in merciless. However, getting elemental adaptation also puts Diamond Skin and the other resist nodes in easy reach.

As for IAS vs Proj Damage - I would estimate that 12% Proj Dmg gives more bang for buck (and is of course more mana/life efficient) than 8% IAS, but not by a great deal.

I had already planned on trying this variation this build, but with the res penalties and minor res node tree changes I think this variation now looks even more appealing.

It only requires 1 extra point for the new diamond skin down by IR which is right on the southern path to BM. This gives an extra +15 res all early when resist gear is in short supply. This is even more important now that the +15s all along the path have now been buried behind +6 res all (if we end up needing the res, your better off helping kraityn than taking the point, but I think endgame the point will still be better).

Would it make sense to do this same build as a duelist in order to get out of the useless starting area faster? Also, would it make sense to take resolute technique?
