Will there be any problems if I follow the OPs build but skip on the Blood magic entirely?

I'd like to know this as well. What about replacing BM with 'Mana Flows' (which isn't out of the way, unlike BM)? With the points you save trying to get to BM, maybe you could put them into other important mana nodes?

I can simply tell you both BM is well worth it.
You don't have to pay attention to mana (which you'll run out of if you didn't have BM), you can level your skills up to max, because you don't need to adjust the mana usage, and you get 2/3 free flask slots to get what you most like.

How is it for end game though? Won't you ever find yourself in a bit of a pickle when monsters start to hit REALLY hard? Won't you need to keep your health as intact as possible for those situations which you'll get out of barely alive?

If you can confirm that it's viable for end game, then I'd be happy to try it out. Also, what HP should you have before going for it? Are the HP nodes in the build enough, or will I need to find gear with +HP on it?

I'm also guessing life leech gear is going to be a must eventually. Anyway, thanks for the reply!

It's an end-game build and it just keeps getting more viable the more you deal damage. Just get enough hp/res/armor and you are good to go. Life leech gem will be enough or atleast it was in the CB and I heard (haven't checked) it's been boosted for OB. And take BM when you can leech enough life to keep you full and alive =)

Since LA has been nerfed, are most ppl still using it? Split arrow for aoe is still good? I think for Blood Magic to be effective, it needs to rely on good gear, and as a new player, it's something I simply don't have. I think a physical build is more suited for new players.

bump for discussion
It seems like Physical Damage Rangers are becoming competitive...perhaps even better than elemental rangers.

Being stuck between the two builds atm I'm curious as to why you say this? I'm have an incredibly hard time picking which abilities (+ support gems) I want to use as elemental and have had a somewhat rough time leveling compared to my marauder in CB. With the removal of crit flasks most posts on this forum made it seem as if physical rangers would be underwhelming but I've always enjoyed frenzy and other physical abilities much more than elemental.
I've noticed this alot;

Elemental Hit,
Weapon Elemental Damage,
Life on Hit,
Life Leech,
Reduced Mana,

Are all the basic gems ele Ranger needs, but so hard to get within the current economy.
So, I don't know right now what is best.

All above except Elemental Hit should be actually fairly easy to get since those are quest rewards (e.g finish act1 with templar and you'll get anger + weapon elemental dmg). Elemental Hit and Chain are probably the hardest to find.

Would you tell us a new Elemental Bow Ranger build or some guideline for OB, Mr. Petrov?

Thank you for your build, Im lvl 51 ranger, and using your build and Feels Elemental Ranger Build, but in OB, there isn't the Diamond flask, and some skills are nerfed. So i dont know what i should do in my build.

anyway, thank you
