This bow is about 149.35 DPS. Since our build doesn't Crit, I suppose we don't ignite, chill, freeze or shock mobs originally? That's why we take the shock nodes? Thus apart fro giving more total dps and scalable elemental damage, I feel that it is not critical to get Tri-Elemental in this case.

If we are talking about an ideal weapon for mapping in the current end game, weapon DPS you might want to look at somewhere above 300 dps and hopefully a 1.7 APS weapon.

How do you calculate dps? Because when I remove all my gear and just leave that bow in with no skills, my autoattack gives me 293 dps in the character sheet?
Hi i'm a little stopped in act 3 cruel. Is too hard i think i have a problem with the gear but i'm not sure...

i go with the "iron grip and resolute technique elemental" build (0.10.0) and i have 63 level.

Any advice?? What items of gear must be change?

Thanks

I'm new to Petrov's build approach and just hit lvl 24 - long way to go.

Two Questions I have after reading 119 pages:

1. The term Exalted is used frequently in some posts as well in the trade forums. Will someone please explain? I can't seem to find anything that makes sense.

2. Posting my gear in here is accomplished how. Please be very specific I am by no means computer savvy.

Petrov -- thank you for your builds.

To everyone else, many, many thanks, I am amazed how you make one think when you present all the variables to building and critiquing a players approach.

Do still do have your nodes and stats. They are affecting what you see.

Calculation:

Example

(31+75+5+56)/2 X 1.55 = ~129 DPS

You add up all the damage numbers and divide them by 2 to get the average damage, then you multiply it by the attack speed of the weapon to get the dps.

Do take note that this is the basic dps of the weapon. It will be further modified by your stats, the nodes you have taken, the affixes of your other gears.

These are the few I think you should upgrade immediately:

1) Bow (85DPS. Aim for 150 dps Grove Bow. If you are buying, and since you are Lv 63, get a Thicket or Imperial Bow with about 200 dps. They shouldn't be too expensive.)
2) Helm (More HP pls)
3) Neck (Really time to upgrade this to a rare with better affixes. You know it.)
4) Chest (Get a 5L with better affix. More HP. More Evasion or Armor.)

You deserve a scolding. =P I bet you have saved alot. When I looked at your Chest, I was like 'OMG...', speechless. Any regular rare chest drop in Act 3 Cruel should be able to replace the one you have. (Edited: I take back this paragraph as I just realised that you are in Hardcore. Since I have never played HC, I think what I said may not be fair to you. But seriously, try to upgrade if you can. I will leave this para here for those in Normal League to read.)

Though mine isn't that great, I'm still surviving with these:

I'm still looking for upgrades for them though.

When you look at a gear, you might want to dismiss those irrelevant affixes and see what actually is benefiting you from this piece of gear. For example, if you have:
1) Blood Magic - Mana is irrelevant
2) Resolute Techinique - Accuracy is irrelevant
3) Unwavering Stance - Stun Recovery is irrelevant
4) Using a Bow - Block recovery is irrelevant

Also, Reflect damage (Spikes) is not useful. 2 Life Regen per Sec is Meh compared to 2% Life Regen per Sec.

Hope I make sense.

1) Exalted is an Orb. Wiki it. It's usually the top currency used in trading in game apart from its original use.

2) This was explained in another post. Copy and post for you here =)

How to Post Items

When you have your post open, if you look to the top left of your screen you will see your character. Clicking on it will cause a window will pop up, allowing you to choose different characters. Find the character you want (in case the item is in that characters inventory). Once it is selected you will see that characters inventory and an option to look through your stash. Your stash will look exactly like it does in game when you open it, tabs and all, including the names if you have premium stash tabs. Once you find the item(s) you want to link just click it ONCE. It will automatically link it in the post, then just close the window! You should see some code in your post, that's the item you just linked.

Spoiler Tags

Under your thread title you will see the spoiler tag. Once you click it it will add the spoiler code. Just link your items between that code. Obviously if you want to label your spoiler you can. Here is an example

Remember to preview your item posts before you submit them!

Hey guys, I was using Nalaas build, but with the berserkering move I am considering trying this one instead. Has OP posted a variant of this for those with Lioneye's Bow? What path would OP suggest for those that don't need Resolute Technique?
