Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

I'm using the tanky build, but this build seems to be a lvl 82 build when completed and not a lvl 80 build?

Amy I missing something? I took 40hp and then killed all bandits for skill point, and I'm sure I've done all quests as I have checked few times now.

Dhrakken and Hellmode, are both of you guys using one of these builds? Could you link your gear so I know what I should be looking for? You two seem every knowledgeable on all things ranger.

One of you commented on Iron Grip. I was told that Iron Grip and Bear Trap are OP, so I was using it and trying it out. It ups the damage quite a bit. It doesn't make sense to use on Frenzy.

Thanks again!!!

Hellmodes the expert here, not I. A lot of what I know is from reading his posts and of course Mr Petrov's guide has been invaluable!

I've never heard of Iron Will on bear trap so really can't comment. My gear was posted earlier and I'm using the "iron grip and resolute technique elemental" build from this very guide. I'm level 60 at the moment and almost done Act II merc.
Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now: Jack and shit... and Jack left town.

hey im just starting my first ele ranger and i have a question about the builds because i want to be pretty tanky but deal enough damage :) :

is the most popular build (2nd) the more tanky build or is the 4th build aka iron grip and resolute technique elemental tanky enough and with more dmg ?

also if i follow the iron grip/resolute technique elemental guide wont the int nodes be wasted if i decide to go bloodmagic ? same about the accuracy node right at the beginning when i get resolute techinq ?

thx in advance

ps: how much life and life req should i ~ have before i take blood magic ?

You need int for your aura's.

I switch to BM mid 30's. Was a game changer for me.

To petrov/veteran rangers out there:

I would like some clarification on how the mechanics of using a high phy dmg bow and then using elemental conversion equips/gems/skills to attain end game dps

Eg. if you use blackgleam quiver 50% conversion of ur physical to fire, does that mean that ur bow will only do half of your physical dmg now, with another half with fire dmg?

does this works similarly with hatred aura, added fire dmg gem etc, and how does it works when u use both hatred aura together with blackgleam etc, will you be left with very low physical dmg? in that case how does a high physical bow with conversion outdps a triple ele bow with high rolls? assuming with gd gears to support it, thanks!

Note that we are talking about two type of damage changes:

1) Add on
2) Convert

Example:

You have 100 physical damage

Add on

Adds 20% of Physical damage as Fire Damage

Ends up, you deal 100 Phy and 20 Fire Damage. (Total 120 Damage)

Convert

Convert 20% of Physical Damage as Cold Damage

Ends up, you deal 80 Physical and 20 Cold Damage. (Total 100 Damage)

Remember we have different sources of Increase Elemental Damage? Now we multiply.
