" For a simple guide, go for total damage (physical+elemental) over at least 120 damage. Taking into consideration that you are at least lv 59 now, get a Thicket Bow because of its 1.55 attack speed preferably with increased attack speed because attack speed scales damage very well. Not to mention better LoH returns. Critical and Accuracy attributes are not important and is a waste of affix once u get Resolute Technique. " Thanks for answering my question. :) If you have time, could you please help with a little more? My further question would be what if I'd like to stay with this current bow? It is extremely fun to run with 4.5 attack speed :P I have a back up bow with much lower attack speed but it's not as fun. BUT, if it's a must, I'll be okay to swap. And, Do i swap Elemental hit out with LA? or do i swap my LMP out with fork? Right now my 4L in my bow is Elemental Hit (the skill, not support) -> LMP -> Life on Hit -> Blood Magic (since i didnt pick up the blood magic node yet, and I wanted to see how it'd feel before I get the node). ONCE I get the node and take out blood magic gem, what should I add in there? Elemental Hit -> LMP -> Life on Hit -> Fork? Or Elemental Hit -> LMP -> Life on Hit -> Elemental damage (support) Or do i swap Elemental hit for Lightning Arrow? Thank you very much! :) PS : Hey, As an elemental ranger, is it worth investing in a 20% Quality Frenzy Gem? The added % att speed bonus per charge seems like its worth it right? " 1) Choose between fun and practical. Bow wise. I say get a better bow can improve your DPS and overall survival/progression. You can still whip out that fun bow once awhile when running lower lv content to impress and enjoy. 2) Frenzy/Elemental Hit > Single Target 3) LA > Multiple targets 4) LMP better than Fork IMO, individual wise since fork can only hit targets behind while LMP can do both front and back. 5) LA > LMP > LoH > Fork (good and cheap, Hp wise) / Elemental Dmg (If your Dmg is too low) / Chain (If your Dmg is high enough and can withstand the HP drain) I say try all 3 and see which you are more comfortable in. I am using LA > LMP > Chain, and swap around with Quantity, Elemental Dmg and LoH depending on situation, IE: farming, progressing or running high content. End of the day, as mentioned by OP, this is a flexible build. You should trial and error to experience the pros and cons to better learn the mechanism of the build and style. Cheers. Edited: oh ya. As for Quality Frenzy, it's always welcomed. For me, sometimes I will shoot a few shots of frenzy to get those balls before spraying my LA. Awesome, great advice. Thanks a bunch. :)
I swapped around a few things and now I'm completely dominating everything. I can run cruel Ledge at level 35 solo faster than I do with a 5 man party. I think it was definitely my skill build set-up. I just tried swapping my old build for LA -> LoH -> LMP -> Elemental Damage. This made my life cost per shot drop by 50% as well as raised my damage significantly. I also bought a 13% Frenzy and Linked that to LoH and Faster attack, used as my solo target killer. Both of these combined in use, My APS goes over 6.0 and my DPS sits at 770 at full life or around 400 under full life. Thanks again for the tip, I'll tweak it by myself from now, probably gonna buy a chain tomorrow and try that once i hit 45 and can use my 5L! |

Hi guys!
I see many of you here are still somewhat unsure about what stats are important with these builds. I highly recommend you read Mr. Petrov's entire OP as it contains the answers to many if not all of the questions I have seen here lately. I am not suggesting you read all 100 pages of the posts that follow, but you really should read the WHOLE guide that Mr. Petrov has put together. Then, if you still have questions, feel free to ask away! I hope this helps. To answer the most frequently asked question I am seeing lately,"what should I look for in a bow?" What your looking for in a bow (if you followed any of these elemental builds) is high ele damage and speed speed speed! I am currently running a 1.75 thicket bow and loving it. While physical damage is never a bad thing, you want to focus more on elemental damage due to the elemental damage modifiers we heavily invest in. As mentioned in previous posts, attack speed scales very well with these builds. In addition to stacking shock debuffs, you will also generate almost infinite life so long as you hold the trigger. The above is all based on my own experiences and opinions and the opinions of other posters. Sometimes the best way to get answers to your own questions is testing for yourself. As far as knowing if a bow is an upgrade to the one your using, use common sense. Does the new bow have higher elemental damage? Is it faster? When shopping for bows I tend to add up the min damage values and max damage values to give me a ballpark. However that only works if comparing 2 weapons with the same attack speed. Dragon DISCLAIMER! The views and expressed opinions of Dragon are solely those of a drunken redneck and are not necessarily those of a sane person. Any likeness of intelligence is strictly coincidental and should not be taken seriously. His posts should not be read... by anyone. Last edited by Dragon585#3483 on Feb 25, 2013, 12:07:32 PM
