0.10.0! - In Depth Ground Slam Marauder

Am now on Merciless - only flasks I still find myself using are granite and 100% armor buff, simply for the buffs. Rarely use a panicked.

Are the 2 15% flask healing really required? Can someone chime in?

I am working on a thorough guide to a GS marauder, including itemization. I will post it soon.

Sorry to OP if I am thread jacking.
Update on my Marauder

... am still in Merciless, completed act 1 but am still grinding the ledge.

Koam's Sign, Meginord's Belt and Astramentis (+115 to all stats) really helped.

As for skills, I am using groundslam and heavy strike as my "mains" with glacial hammer in the back pocket. Also every encounter involves Enduring Cry and Mark of the Warlord. Depending on the difficulty of the mob, I will switch up temporal chains and kite, if needed.

For auras, I am using Grace (for the added armor) and Anger both with reduced mana cost gems running off of blood magic passive.

I also have phase run (i think a must have for anyone) and frost wall... frost wall really helped with the bosses because even with 17k (with granite flasks, am able to usually have them up at all times) armor, 1.7k HP and about 60% all resists the warden, for example, was one shotting me.

Any marauder pro provide some gearing tips?

I also had a question about armor that provides evasion - so let's say the armor has 297 armor and 300 evasion, does that "evasion" rating give ME evasion? Sorry, I am not very familiar with other characters.
If you don't have Iron-Reflexes/Unwavering Stance Evasion let's you evade. But since you have both, you just get armor.

Brutus is hard, he deals a lot of damage and even with high armor evasion is useful for him (but he is one of a few enemies where that is the case).

Just dodge his ground-slam, I guess this attack is meant to kill you instantly^^.

I personally don't use the flask-passives, since I don't use panicked flasks, but run away and use normal ones (they heal enough, since I get the ones that have 60%+ recovery and use 10% Mana instead, which does not bother me, since I have Blood Magic).

I have a granite-flask and a hp-flask which gives 100% more Evasion (which is 100% more Armor with IR). I have a second granite-flask and a Lightning-Resistance-Flask, since I have 81% resistance and with the lightning-flask I go to 91%, which was enough to ignore the laser of the oversoul until now (I have yet to kill him one last time :P).

I must admit, that I switched to a "use what you get"-attidude. I played one-handed from the start, and switch weapons frequently. If I find a good sword I use it with lightning-strike, while I use ground-slam with a good mace. I sometimes even switch to a two-handed weapon if it is a really good one, but this only happened once. While leveling I find it a lot easier to not rely on certain weapon-drops, but I guess I will optimize the char for 1h-maces, since this gives the option for lightning-strike with +ele-damage mace or ground-slam with the +stun-mace.

PS: A small note to your tree. You should regret the point of Life-Regen next to Golem-Blood and put it into Executioner, so you could save the strength-point going to Steel Skin.

Thanks for the tips! I have since cleared merciless, found a couple of maps and actually ran my first 3 maps (a party member was gracious enough to run one with us).

Here's my updated goal

Also, I am curious if I would gain MORE DPS and/or overall benefit out of a +10 str node as opposed to a 8% dps increase node with accuracy, since my acc. is already at 100%

Edit:

This is in reference to Executioner being something I pick up.

Also, is frenzy and frenzy charges worth getting for a GS Marauder?

I am currently lv 58 doing 3.3k with ground slam with a 2.2 attack speed.

You could try to build up frenzy charges via Blood Rage. Frenzy means 5% more Atk-Spd per Charge, and Frenzy is a great single-target Skill (might switch it with your heavy strike), since frenzy gets an additional 5% atk-spd and 5% physical damage per charge which increase if the gem levels.

But frenzy is a bit expensive.

10 Str means 2% Increased Melee-Damage, so Executioner is worth it. But you could also try to get towards the Melee-Damage Nodes from the duellist, they are worth 10%.
Great build but low hp make chaos dmg really dangerous. Somtimes I die whan I find group of snakes that use chaos demage

True, but actually a build is a general idea about how to play.

This is the one I'm using. I just dropped Resolute-Technique, since with IR I want a bit more Dex to make wearing Evasion-Armor better than Wearing Armor-Armor (sounds strange). I also don't need Armour-Master, since Dex-Armour does not have much penalty anyway. I got BM, but the idea to play without it and use the support-gem is a good one, but I don't have enough links yet, I might respec that point later. I also don't have the flask-boni, since I mainly use granite-flasks to take less damage, than I'm leeching back. Actually I have 3 granite-flasks with life-leech and one with evasion and one HP-Flask. I only need more HP-Flasks for the overlord and a bit of hit&run for chaos-heavy areas.

If you don't feel good with copying the build, than just take the general idea and modify it for your need.
Isn't it always better to use pure strenght gear instead of dextery/strenght hybrid gear when playing as a Marauder and trying to obtain as much armor as possible??

I think it should be!

BTW the link above does not work...

Depends? I have a 1k armor chest piece on but was getting more overall armor from a str / dex piece I had (and rerolled into trash) that had 800 armor and 800 evasion (all my evasion translates to armor)
