[1.1] Davos Seaworth's Elemental Split Arrow Build - Solo every map with ease!

Hey Davos,

after reading your guide and checking the final tree one question came to my mind:
You suggest to use the BM gem after getting at elast on 1% life regen node. But in your tree, you took none. There is one right at the templer starting area which is just 1 point away so this might be the one. But after reading, I got the impression there are more, as you seid one should be taken. Am I missing something?

Also as others said already, an updated leveling section would be nice as it is always a good guideline and helps a lot. Also I suppose it won't take that long for you, as you got quite some experience with this build.

Finally: thanks for the guide, this will be my next roll, it sounds fun! I'm really curious how this will work out.

Cheers

Hey Davos

How would the build work with a Voltraic Rift spine bow. WOuld one still run LA or go for split arrow? Also how would the passive tree look like. IM debating whether to sell my lions and get a voltraic only if the build still works
Instead of Berserk, what about going up from the Ballistic Mastery area and getting Haste? It has 15% attack speed and some dex. Also, just above that are a +20 life node and two +12% life nodes. Also, two 8% projectile damage nodes will get you to 3 10% elemental damage nodes.

Heart of Oak gives 1% regen. This build also used to take the 1.5% below duelist. It's not too far out of the way though, so if you really need the regen and the 12% resists below it, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to take it as a strictly temporary thing, as well as the 28% life above it.

Sorry I haven't updated the progression yet. I'm lazy. Someone else made their own version of it, if you'd like to use that. I think it's on the previous page of replies. It's pretty similar to what I'd use. And as long as you're not playing in Invasion, it shouldn't matter too terribly much.

Where do you plan to make room for all these projectile damage and elemental damage nodes? I never plan a build past 105 points, because I never expect to surpass level 90. In order to get the life nodes above Haste, you'd need to drop other life nodes. Nothing else in this build is optional. Berserking gives 18% IAS, Haste gives 15%. If you wanted to get that and the three life nodes above it, you'd want to drop three of the 6% scion life nodes. So the end result would be -3% IAS, +6% life and +20 life. You know what? That's a pretty good idea. Losing 3% IAS for that amount of life is a good tradeoff in my view. I'll probably change the passives in the guide. Some people are all about the dps I know. Though anyone using this build in Invasion is going to want the life, for sure.

VR is definitely the best bow you can use for this build. The only thing that could possibly be better is a thicket bow with 100% perfect elemental and IAS rolls and two other really good suffixes. Even then, they'd be very close. You can use LA if you want, but SA would work really well too. The ultimate form of this build is played with a VR. You'll be shocking for days.

Is anyone else having trouble with getting enough Dex with this build? I'm level 56 with only 123 Dex and can't use decent bows or level up my green gems. At the final build I'll only have 183 Dex, and the bow shown in the gear section requires 212. Having to dedicate gear to make up for the extra 40 missing Dex points seems problematic while keeping all the resists, life, and defenses up as well.

How will you only have 183 dex? This build has 213 dex and the revision I'm considering making adds another 40 dex. You can get another 16-24 from the implicit on your amulet, depending on which type of amulet you use.

Thanks for your repliy. As i'm currently starting this build in invasion, are there any major changes to the build I should consider? I thought it would be fine the way it is?

If you're making this build in invasion, I'd recommend this version instead. It has slightly more life at the cost of a small amount of attack speed. I'm actually going to replace the current build with this one. It's not very different. All it does is drops Berserking (18% IAS) as well as three of the 6% life nodes in the scion tree, and instead goes up into the shadow tree for Haste (15% IAS) and the 3 life nodes above it. So you get an extra 6% increased life as well as a flat +20 life. When you're in your endgame gear, the change should result in roughly another 150 life after all is said and done (if you follow my gearing recommendations and only wear gear with high life).

Actually, I'm making another change as well for those who don't need all the intelligence this build comes with. You only need 151 for the lvl 20 blue gems this build uses and that is easily attainable if you use a helmet and amulet with intelligence. So I'm changing the pathing slightly in the templar tree. The build will lose 22 int and 12% elemental damage but will gain 2 skill points to spend on life nodes. I think I'm gonna go with the hybrid EV/life nodes in the ranger tree, as I think 6% evasion over 2% life will probably give more bang for your buck. But if you don't want the extra evasion, use the scion life nodes. Or if you want the intelligence, use this version:
