[1.1] Davos Seaworth's Elemental Split Arrow Build - Solo every map with ease!

"
thanks a lot!! this is the answer i was looking for!!
and 1 last question:

will we only kite lategame? or are we going to be able to play wiht out kitting too much?

I hardly ever have to kite. It depends on your dps though. Most times I can kill mobs before they even reach me, but with some mobs in the highest level maps sometimes it's not possible. But even in those situations I don't kite. I just tank the damage. Life Gain on Hit should keep you alive if follow my gearing instructions and have plenty of armor and life on your gear.

Why resolute technique on this build? can someone tell me pls, i've 90% chance to hit now and 200% crit multiplier so why not, would I 1 shot myself in a reflect mob pack or would the life gain on hit save meeeee?

What level are you? Chance to hit goes down drastically at higher levels.

This will work the same with LA skill?

Yeah should work fine as long as you have a 6L. You'll just need to replace Faster Attacks with LMP.

SirDavos, what gem level combo would you suggest for CoDT and the gems connected to it after the nerf?

Sorry man, I don't actually use that in this build anymore since the nerf. Instead I put in Immortal Call or an alternate Culling Frenzy with IIR/IIQ. It's up to you though. But not having used CODT since before the nerf, I'm not the best person to offer advice on how to use it.

You need static blows and a lot of elemental dmg (lightning is best) on your bow/gear to be able to do a lot of damage with this build.

I already have SB and 50% of my actual DPS is lightning dmg.

Yeah unfortunately you'll have to get extremely lucky to play this game fully self-found. And you definitely need to get a 5L asap. The devs say they are developing a trading solution that will make trading hassle free without it being an auction house. We will see.

I guess the key thing is now getting a 5L, and in the meantime maybe put WED instead of Faster attack on my 4L Frenzy and put Chain instead of my other Faster attack on Split Arrow..
Anything else to notice from my gear?

And one last question:
What about adding Diamond Flesh and Golem's Blood on this build?

Thanks for the reply! I'm not particularly into Immortal Call, so I will go with the Lightning Warp setup for mobility.

Another question: I have an Alpha's Howl. Does it enable me to drop some reduced mana passives? I can't work out the math :S
I'm currently still in act 2 cruel, RT seems so wasteful when you can't crit and especially cos you won't be able to make use of the "recharge 1 charge on crit" flask affix. But since you say the chance to hit goes does drastically in high levels I do suppose that RT is a necessity haha. Thanks a lot for the reply btw (:

Lvl 67 now, i am playing maps since lvl 63 and i am doing fine so far with this gear, having a lot of fun!

Spoiler

just one question, why is it necessary to stack lightning damage? I thought since we cant crit, the 20% Shock chance is the only way to shock, does it still matter how much lightning damage we have?

Good job on the build, not following it 100% but its really well made!

How would that work? The build doesn't go near there. You'd have to spend 5 points to get either of them.

Alpha's Howl is 8% reduced mana reserved, so if you were using it you'd be able to drop Sovereignty (far left of the tree), which is also 8%. And with Sovereignty you need to spend 3 points in aura effect and aura radius nodes (12% aura radius and 16% aura effect) so all together you'd be able to free up 4 passive points. However, those aura effect nodes are very powerful. I'm not entirely sure I'd drop them. In addition to 8% reduced mana reserved, Sovereignty gives 12% aura effect, which brings the total to 28% aura effect for 4 points spent. That means Wrath Anger and Grace will be 28% stronger. Feel free to compare the change in DPS to that of 3 WED nodes and something else, maybe an armor rating or evasion node. See what it comes out to.
