[1.1] Davos Seaworth's Elemental Split Arrow Build - Solo every map with ease!
I'm level 46 and while I do amazing damage with this build, it sucks my mana like crazy. I have 1k life and LoH and LLeech for frenzy. I didn't get mana leech because I intend to go Blood magic. But at this point I'm forced to downgrade/remove supports to keep my mana sucking down.
On a related note, I have been leveling LA (and Ice Shot) as well. Both seem useful in their own ways and with LMP they are more mana efficient than SA/chain. Is there some point where the latter pulls ahead in terms of overall power? Is it when you get Static blows? It is pretty awesome right now, but I can only get off 5-6 shots before I'm chugging pots. |

" Those bosses are tricky for a build like this. You didn't link your chest, so I'm not sure if you're using decoy totem or not, but it is pretty crucial for distracting them. My armor is less than that and I'm at lvl85 now, so that's not the problem. If you're using US, then you won't get any benefit from the Smoke Mine blind. I just quicksilver/granite out of there when I get hit by a big melee boss. Maintain a good range and keep decoy totems up 100% of the time. |

I guess Decoy is really helpfull with that kind of boss, gonna level it and see how it goes. Thanks for reply ! ps : Smoke mine is useless I know, but it's still pretty fun to use ;) Last edited by fromspaace#5112 on Oct 6, 2013, 2:34:37 PM

" Chain is demanding on mana, I had several "mana on hit" otherwise non great items to help me in leveling, other route is to use fork instead, lot less mana intense. Not that good but on low lvl will get job done. Worry not about SA, it's good skill but SA/chain combo is badass too. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath

Well m8, I tried to equip split arrow on my lvl 82 LA duelist. Bought a lvl 20 (non-quality, true) split arrow, got LMP out, and went to docks to find how its working compared to LA+LMP. The result, unfortunately, was disappointing for some reason tho. My build is almost as yours with some more HP and stuff, but the main idea is there. This is the build atm:

Altho I wished to add some more punch replacing the LMP with FA 20/20 it still dealt way less dmg than LA. Good work tho, I'm 100% sure at lower lvls, the SA build is way better and easier to build. Cheers! Last edited by iluvathar#2305 on Oct 7, 2013, 2:50:58 PM

" Well, you play with phys bow right? (iron grip) Ele split build requires triele bow and lot of ele dmg on gear / passives. No iron grip.. I found out, at least in HC, this ele split build is srsly GOOD! With 18lvl 20% lgoh (50life on hit), chain, 20lvl 10% split etc it works very nicely! IGN: Wanderiin

This build works and scales very well almost thru entire game (not in very early start) and up to endgame for most ppl (lvl 70-71 maps)
Thing is you cannot "half do" build, either you go all the way or it won't be good. High att speed, tri ele thicket bow and lots of "added ele damage" / flat or percentage on gear. Now past lvl 70 maps (solo)I do feel like it lacks some punch, I've tested several lvl 71 maps and although it was doable I had a feeling that I'm pushing it and that this is as far as this char can go. Mind you, I'm level 74, which is not really that high, I'm still lacking inner force, few life nodes and such. My stats
Spoiler
8600 Frenzy /2825 SA dps (fully buffed)
3542 Life 3075 Armor (28% red.) All resi 75 /chaos -13 And my frenzy /SA gems are at level 17/18 (yea... low)but Q20 too Maps past lvl 70 are too expensive and to rare for most ppl anyway, and even in this state you can stroll thru endgame merc and below 70 maps with incredible ease. Enemies are melting away before they come in screen often, and usual playgrounds like docks and lunaris are just joke to play, too easy and boring. Hey guys, sorry for my lack of responses lately. I've been taking a break from PoE since GTA 5 came out. I'll be back in a few weeks, after patch 1.0! And, of course, I will keep this guide updated to keep the build running at its maximum potential.
I'm glad people have been enjoying it :) IGN: EmpathicAmoeba

" Sorry to hear that man. My experience with the build has been very different. I can tear up lvl 77 maps no problem with my SA duelist. I made a Cleave Ranger a couple months ago with pretty stellar gear, yet I still do much better on my mediocre-geared SA duelist. Here is my cleave gear:
Spoiler
And you can see my not-so-great archer gear on the original post :p Some of the pieces are the same, but the bow I use is nowhere near the quality of the Soul Taker and 381 dps sword I use on my cleave ranger. Not to mention the ranger has a 6L where my duelist only has 5L :p IGN: EmpathicAmoeba

" There is nothing to be sorry about, and our experiences are probably not eve that different (for lvl 74). This build is thoroughly effective (I would easily recommend it to anyone) but to take that final jump it needs little bit more kick, I've lacking 10 levels or so and some more passives investment. And 2-3 levels on my gems more. Our stats comparing; 8600/2825 Damage vs 10108/3127 3542 Life vs 4725 3075 Armor vs 6390 And if you (guys) think that SA difference from 2,8 to 3,1 K Dps from SA is small, guess again, that's HUGE mark on SA, because that damage multiplies many times. But we also must be honest and say that your gear is ... well pretty awesome, although this build is completely playable on much worse gear (like few chaos per piece, except maybe bow) endgame results as usually require some investment, same as with other builds (even less) but it's worth of mentioning. My gear:
