[1.1] Davos Seaworth's Elemental Split Arrow Build - Solo every map with ease!

Noob here trying this build out. Seeing as it uses the blood magic passive, I assume auras then reserve life instead of mana?

Isn't that kind of dangerous? Do we look for ES gear as well as life gear then? or just focus on life?

Just life. At max levels, if you link auras with reduced mana gem, they will reserve 383 of your life (less if you use Alpha's Howl helmet). My character has about 4800 life, so it's like what, 7% of my life? It's not dangerous, it just lowers your life a few hundred points. And it's well worth the trade off. The majority of non-spell casting builds do this. Even the ones who don't use the blood magic passive will run their percent-based auras off their mana, and the flat-cost auras off their life pool by linking them with blood magic or using a trick with Malachai's Simula to run their auras off life pool.

No energy shield. It's wasted since it won't leech back when you attack enemies. It's purely a buffer. Once it's gone, it's gone until you can go 6 seconds without taking damage.

This build uses Resolute Technique, which gives you a 100% chance to hit. It can be pretty dangerous not having RT or a Lioneye's Glare unless you invest a lot of points into accuracy. Missing a couple shots while you're tanking means you won't leech any life, which could mean death.

Unless you invest passive points into crit chance (or have Lioneye's Glare, which is not good for an elemental build) there is no point in not taking Resolute Technique. If my crit chance is only 6%, it's not doing much for my dps.

There's also another reason: elemental reflect. With a 350% crit damage multiplier, you can kill yourself pretty easily.

Thx for the reply, any suggest uniques?
I'm leveling this build as an alt now, and following the passive point path/bandit rewards. I had a Death's Harp and a Blackgleam in my stash, and these allowed me to basically faceroll everything to 50 (so far). I am only using a 3L of LA, LoH and Chain (single target Frenzy-LifeLeech-AddedLightning). Adding a WED would be even more ludicrous if I had a low level one I could use. As soon as I can find a decent ele bow, I'll switch over to Split Arrow.

So far, this is much easier and safer than my 2H Infernal Splash Marauder.

Thanks for the build!

Glad I can be of service :)

As it happens, the character I'm playing currently is a 2H Infernal Splash Templar! I love it, but elemental reflect is kind of a problem. I'm only level 61 so far, so we'll see. But I'm really enjoying blowing up huge packs of mobs simultaneously. If it's effective in high level maps, I'll make a guide for it!

I'm using this bad boy right now

Almost no matter what you do, ele reflect will be a problem with infernal blow/melee splash builds. The best you can do in my opinion is switch to glacial hammer or some other skill to kill the reflect pack/boss. The problem is when 10 guys explode, that all reflects back to you and it's excruciatingly painful, even with a lvl 20 purity and the extra 2% resists keystone.
Cant decide lighting arrow or split arrow.

And btw if i have only 4 links, what would be better to use for split arrow?
Split Arrow - Life on hit - weapon element damage - chain or faster attacks?

Chain is 100% mandatory.
