Here is a rough draft of how a Scion build can look now.

It seems the templar can still be effective discharger, or is it better to level up scion for this? Who is more effective discharger, Scion or Templar? Any thoughts?

I am sitting at over 950 life but I still had to grab 1 mana reduction node (clarity is at 420 so just barely over). This leaves me with like 20 life left after reservation. Grabbed Arcane Vision and I'm loving it, no more low life vision bullcrap. DPS with full charges at about 42k. Gear: I am 7% cold res short of all maxed resists (maxed with endurance charges) and sitting at 3.5k ES (cheap MF gear). With crit weakness I crit 85% of the time. Only noob thing is I forgot the endurance charge on the templar side, this increases damage a lot. Will get it next level. Also, use a topaz flask whenever I spot reflect, I die to reflect very very rarely. Cast on damage taken on decoy totem, cold snap, frost wall, and molten shell/life leech for hilarious faceroll play. Soon as I get hit it all procs. When they nerf malachai I will run purity/discipline on blood magic and a lower level clarity off mana. Or just forget lowlife and go CI, do maps finally. when you level you can level as a regular spell caster (freezing pulse lmp) because the nodes are in your favor. Or you can go elemental cleave and grab the elemental damage stuff, but it's nerfed so it won't be nearly as good as it once was for speed leveling. You take about 10 or so life nodes in the templar start area and that should be good enough for when you get to merciless, farm city of sarn until you can get into docks (get good cold/fire res by now) and then do docks until 70-72. If you have the gear at this point you transition over to discharge. Farm zones for leveling are ledge, coves, fellshrine, city of sarn, docks.
End game farm is yet to be determined. Dominus has a FRICKIN CHAOS MOB in there so if you want to farm him prepare to dump a lot of portal scrolls or some decoy totem tactics. Library/Archives has a ton of mobs that cast cold, so that's annoying...and good ole Lunaris got level nerfed to 67. The mobs in upper scepter of god have a shield mechanic that don't allow you to one shot them consistently. My guess is library/archive is the new spot but with the zones being level 67 and no boss, I have a preference to grinding Piety for the extra rarity now. Sucks that level 67 to 68 is a big deal for item drops. |

" It's simply too inefficient to grab VP and US as a templar now. I trade a tiny bit of AoE and spell damage for lots of +% mana and the ability to run 2 auras safely, which is all this build needs. If I'm lucky I'll even be able to still run clarity level10 and be off just as well as before, minus the very good gear I have on standard. :] Hello darkness my old friend..

mylsen..with so little life how are u going to deal with chaos damage which is all over the game now...not just in maps but nearly all of the new zones

You may want to read the first post carefully. This build is not meant to be run on maps. It was made for piety runs and after the first round of Dominus I can safely say this build should be unbeatable when farming him.
Unlimited trash mobs and a few bosses against discharge? lol. Hello darkness my old friend..
