i didnt read through the whole post here so i might have missed something already.
i have a 2h flicker build (marauder)that will soon reach 90k dps. and i can just survive reflect with a few es points left after the hardest crits, without flasking.
i was wondering how my build compares to some of the shadow builds overhere that can actually leech through reflect when flickering. i imagine having a shield yields a much higher es cushion. but then again, how would u get enough leech when wearing a chayula?

Hmm i dont quite understand what you mean by "leech through reflect".If u mean vaal pact, yeah you can leech instantly. However it works like that(i apologise if i am talking about things you already know): You hit,you leech, then take the reflected damage. That means that if you r damage is enough to one shot you,no amount of leech will save.If you dont one shot your self, then on your next hit you will leech back the lost amount of ES,if your life leech is sufficient. Now as far as life leech goes, blood rage gives you 10% life leech, and you can get more from your rings( i use death rush for 4% leech),possibly a life leech gem and warlord's mark.
Now as to how it can be compared to a 2-handed marauder, yeah as a dagger shadow you have the benefit of using a shield for higher overall ES.On the other hand you can potentially deal way more damage,so i don't really know. The only real-permanent solution to reflect is to nerf your damage.Otherwise there always gonna be some gambling involved. As long as you dont one shot your self, when hitting accidentally a reflect, everythings fine.Thats not the case always though. There is alot written on the topic through the tread, but also in the original build description. You can take a look if you want, for more detailed information.

I looked through this whole thread pretty quickly and didn't see anyone mention The Blood Dance Sharkskin Boots. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/The_Blood_Dance. I'm not sure how to post the images and stats of items, apologies. But I have been using these boots instead of Blood Rage for now until I get a 5L or 6L chest. Great build and info btw. Thanx for posting. This is my 4th character and I am very entertained by the carnage. ;)

yeah im familiar with the mechanics but thanks for the clear explanation.
im just wondering if there are builds here that survive reflect on every possible crit roll and deal more than 90k dps? 90k is more or less the max dps for a ci marauder that wants to flicker through reflect. i suppose a non crit build might reach higher since the max dmg is lower but not utilising gem quality, atleast for me, feels like a waste.

Should be easy to figure your max damage with respect to 1 hit suicide via reflect. And if you can survive 1 hit, as long as you have 18% leech you should be fine. Ignoring any damage reduction from the enemy's or your armor:

Max Damage Per Hit * Critical Multiplier * .18 = Energy Shield

So if you have a max hit of 3500 with a 1000% multiplier, you need 6300+ energy shield to survive 1 hit without considering armor. Can easily rearrange the equation for a fixed es pool and solving for damage if need be.

Thank you for your kind words. Now about the blood dance, you have me abit confused.Blood Dance provide life regeneration, but they donr work with CI,unless you pick zealot's oath. However they can work on a life based variation of this build

Pretty much this for single target. However the use of melee splash compicates things mch further.

im able to survive reflect with 16% leech and 16k armour unflasked. but what about you guys?
how much dps are you able to deal without having to switch to LS or other skills?
(and if possible anti stun and freeze incorporated)
ty for feedback

While wearing chayula(for antistun),on a 5L.without the use of lightning strike, meaning without power charges,i deal 132K single target and 81K with melee splash. On a 4L,without increase crit damage, and again without power charges i deal 103K single target.I never wear an anti freeze, except mervel boss in graveyard, and sometimes not even there.

edit:My dps on the build description is honest.I am posting it with the setup i run,not wearing other euipment to make it look better :D.That includes chayula obviously. Also my DPS on the firt page is how it would be on a 6L with power charge on crit as the 6th gem.But i prefer to gain power charges from disttance with LS anyway

For those of us that use abyssus, you need to multiply the end result by 1.4-1.5. Overall, living through reflect becomes really difficult with this build.

There are two requirements:
Survive the first hit
Leech a sufficient percentage of health.

The latter is easy. The minimum leech is 18%, or 26% if you use abyssus. 18% is easy-ish, while 26% requires lots of sacrifices.

Re the first hit ... glutton was correct, but the abyssus needs to be included (1.4-1.5 multi). Basically, as long as you have less than 2.5k top end damage and an 850 multi, you'll survive with 5.5k ES or so. I'd be curious though, could you post a screenshot of your flicker? Haven't seen a 2h variant yet.

im not doubting your dps. it´s a great accomplishment for a 5l.
im just wondering how much would remain of it when taking off abyssus and adding sufficient leech or working your way around reflect some other way without changing skills.
