Low-life EK Marauder - Endgame update

As expected, I was able to break 4k hp by end game, and this is with just grabbing +life gear while leveling. I suspect that with some luck on alterations, breaking 5k hp won't be too expensive. Since the weapons & helm slots are set by the uniques (which themselves provide the majority of the dps) this build is somewhat less orb dependent, as +life and +quantity are really the only two mods you need for end-game gear.

I would like to submit my summoner Witch. So, what makes my summoner witch stand out from the others?

First of all i only use minions, i dont use any other skills like firestorm to rain on the enemies while my minions fight. However, other skills are often considered a must for high lvl summoner builds. But my build has solved this problem.

My witch has Skeletons linked to a Faster Cast Rate gem, and why is that? Well, ppl who play summoner will probally notice how skeletons seem to "go afk" and not attack the enemy monsters. My build solves this problem by simply respamming the skeleton skill with a pretty high cast rate (0,65 secs for 5 skeletons). (Updated for 9,12: more like 0,5 for 2 skeletons, but skeletons have more life due to the new patch.) This means that i can summon my skeleton next to the enemies very fast in order to actually make the skeletons attack the enemies. (Skeletons who are too far away just walk around randomly.)

In order to get this Fcr, i combine mana regen skills with faster cast rate skills in the passive skill tree. (Updated build in 9,12 also uses haste, which also gives fcr, and also makes my minions attack faster at the same time.) I also have mana regen on my gear though. Forexample my amulet gives 60 percent more mana regen.

The most important skill for this build is Clarity, and why is that? Well, mana regen passive skills and mana regen stats stack with clarity, so if i have an amulet with 60 percent mana regen, i also boost clairty by 60 percent. When i dont have clairty on, i only got like 40 mana regen per second, but when i use clairty, it goes up to 119 per second, even though clarity says it only gives me 20 mana more per second.

The few things i havent covered in my build are zombies and curses. Now, i CANNOT summon my zombies so that the mana regens to max every time i use the skill. But this is because i linked more passive skill gems to zombies. However, with 119 mana per second (Updated for 9,12: More like 157 mana per second.) i can still raise the zombies very very fast without using mana pots.

I placed a point in whispers of doom for this build. This allows me to cast 2 curses on the enemies. I use 1 curse linked to a totem, which means that the totem will basically do the casting process for me. Then i haft to use the other curse myself, but with 0,4 cast speed for my my own curse, it doesnt really delay me from spamming minions that much. There are a few other thing in this build that im not going to cover, just because they are not connected to minion and curse spamming.

So how does it stand out from a normal summoner?
1: Faster cast rate for a minion skill, which probally sounds really stupid but it is not stupid.
2: Doesnt use a skill like firestorm or fireball, relies on spamming the skeletons so that the mana regens to max every time the skill is used.
3: Does not attempt to get a high amount of passive skill gems for minions, this is because the mana cost will grow higher. The minions dont need to be that good when they are in never ending numbers.
4: Does not need mana pots or health. Allright im not sure about this one, but i just had to add it.
5: (for updated version). Haste aura in a build that only uses minions.

Does the build have a weakness? Well, its not chaos damage since the build uses CI. Maybe having monsters run past your skeletons to attack you, but when you learn the micro management for the build, there is no real weakness for it. Monsters that run very fast is the only one i will add as a weakness. (Allthough i have a curse called temporial chains that will slow thesse down.)

Keep in mind that the build is very vulnerable by itself, but it makes up for this by having a non stop respam of skeletons to block enemies off. Also zombies make a great defense for the build.

The build is prob. going to suck in PvP, but its defitnetly good for farming since it doesnt need ultra good items, item stats that are important are only Mana Regen, ressits and energy shield, and sockets of course.

Skilltree: (I am missing some fcr nodes, mana nodes, buff nodes and aura nodes. But the intentended goal can be achieved for something like lvl 80 or maybe a bit more.)

I finally hit level 59 with my righteous fire marauder, so i can use my shiny new toy:

-Righteous fire (Increased Area of Effect
-Shock nova ( concentrated effect, life leech, blood magic, Iron will)
- Purity (RMC)
- Vitality (RMC)
-Sheild Charge (Blood magic)
-Enduring Cry (Blood magic)
-Phase run, Elemental Weakness


Basically, run around, burning stuff to death, hopefully before I do. Cast Enduring cry after often as possible.

I use shock nova when i need a few extra dps to take something down. For the low low price of 173 life per cast, I get 1100 extra dps ;) Ok, really I just use it to recharge flasks on the offchance i have to take off righteous fire from running out of flasks. Note: I intend to switch to (spark/FP) if i can get a better 5link armor with different colors because the mana costi s just crazy.

Fully charged, i dont lose much life at all, flasks easily top it off. Not being able to block anything sucks so much however, and physical damage kinda hurts. Need to level a grace and use it with bm or something.

I dont know, its not overly complicated, as the fire damage is more significant than any spell i can throw up atm. Pretty much just run around screaming OMG IM BURNING IM BURNING AAHHHHHHHH.

Anyway, off to try the pyramid.

Explanation

Basically I tried to get to my goals as fast as possible and took a couple of passives i need on the way to it (like for example the mana regeneration passives).

My basic goals were/are:

High Crit-Chance to support King of the Hill
High Mana Regeneration
Keystone Point Blank
Keystone Iron Reflexes
Additional Mana and Life
Increased Evasion Rating to Support Iron Reflexes
Piercing Shots

Due to the fact, that i didnt find all the Items I need and possibly want yet this build is not finished completely. To give you guys an idea of what i need and how i want this build to be finished I created a google spreadsheet:

Playstyle:

This character uses Poison Arrow and Explosive Arrow to provide massive AoE damage. This in combination with the Clarity Aura, a huge amount of mana regeneration and a little bit of mana leech allows the character to constantly spam his abilities without getting out of mana at any time.

The character starts his encounter by using his Poison Arrow to create a large poison area around his enemies. After this he spams his Explosive Arrow to stack it as many times as possibly to finish off his foes.

Raise Zombie and the Rejuvenation Totem are used to provide really tanky zombies and survivability and sustain to the character itself.

The Ice Nova ability will be used by this character in combination with a Totem support gem. That will allow him to slow his enemies in his AoE and to kite smaller groups of tankier foes easier.

Enfeeble explains it use itself pretty much. It is basically a tool to minimize the damage done to the characer and his Zombies.

Phase Run is used to kite single targets and to simply move faster from point A to B.
