PoE Performance Issues still present. Need a word harsher than abysmal.

Also 30% + of optimization went tin the game for 0.11.4, not like they are slacking.

they said 40% ... and NOONE can see any difference what so ever

Apart from those that could barley play the game on 32 bit systems...I was hoping that it would have"fixed" the massive dip in fps i had even when solo on ice shot...for the most part it did until i pulled multiple monsters which fired it and the fired it together.
But i know there are further performance fixes coming...on possibly before the 0.11.5 patch and stuff in 0.11.5 as well...and very likely more as it creeps closer to full release

Lightning Arrow+Chain+LMP on groups is also a huge Peerformance Killer. My GTX460 Card usualy handles every game pretty well, even heaviest Fights in Diablo 3 but in PoE I get 50% frame drops easily even when I play solo. (over 4 attacks/s with LA seems to be overkill for most gfx cards) Guess there is alot room for performance improvements when it comes to spell effects.
YOu can work around this issue a little bit if you can manage to have your attacks mostly offscreen. So I shoot really big groups from far away when they are outside of the visible screen area. You still hit them (Ranger) and your FPS are pretty constant. It's not an elegant solution of course and useless for close combat situations but better than nothing at the moment.
I'm having this issue too. Sometimes you can handle it just by walking away from the fray when the FPS starts dropping like crazy but sometimes the screen just freezes and... you die on Onslaught Docks.

I don't understand why this happens A LOT only on act 3 for me. In the other acts this is less frequent. I play the game in a very low configuration by editing the ini file and have the AMD HD 4830 video card and it handles other games just fine.

Oh well, I still love the game and let's remember this is the open beta but god, it's frustrating when you die like this. I'm trying to complete the level 60's challenge and just lost some good items. Well, back to the start...
I too have experienced an issue of lag spikes almost freezing the screen when monsters appear at the egde of the screen. This was an major issue for me before the update that reduced the size of grafical objects. Now the problem is back and greater in a sense that the game is next to impossible to play since the 1.0.5 patch. Also for some reason, I cant turn shadows on at all.
They aim to have a release quality code "six weeks from now" or so. Release quality code out of definition includes as many optimizations as possible, so this leaves a question - are many more performance tweaks on the way in next weeks, or is this it, FPS lags forever?

I still hope for performance issues to be fixed and the ingame resource manager to become new and shiny.

Just a side-note. I changed my internet provider recently to much better one, the FPS stuttering is still strong and healthy, so the connection itself will not be the main factor in this. I am still very baffled that they said they were not able to reproduce this 75 FPS => 5 FPS problem in their office. From my 5 friends playing PoE only one of them actually did never die due to some insane FPS stutter.
