I would honestly prefer one or the other. Either way, the middle ground seems to be timers And the options that seem to be comming are just FFA and options to extend timers. Which really makes no sense.

Totally agree here. While I am excited about the return of pure FFA, I don't see the point in timers at all. Allocate the loot or don't allocate the loot.

Some people I believe liked loot on a timer, though I think those players wouldn't be too upset if it was changed to a choice between instanced and ffa.

As long as they leave the base game alone and add any or all of these options as league options, I'm perfectly fine with that. But Leave the base game alone nothing wrong with it, so GGG don't waste your time, energy, and money on changing it. It's a Damned if you do damned if you don't option here, you will never make everyone happy it's just not possible.
I keep hearing about "The Real World" is that an expansion or something ??

While I'm no dev, and while astrology wisely teaches us that anything can happen, I believe the devs have pretty much stated that separate leagues for separate loot rules isn't the model being planned. So it's actually the "base game", as you term it, that's going to get improved, with loot options.

Are you still fine with that?

The problem with a hard division between instanced and FFA is that it will absolutely break up the community. If you have more gradual changes like FFA, 1 second, 2 seconds, etc. then someone who plays with 2 second timers normally might sometimes play FFA if there don't happen to be any 2-second timer games around at a particular time.
Picking Up Loot issue
when running games with multiple people items are dispersed through players via a timer.
when say, killing a boss with a full group, the loot dropped can be unbearable to even see what dropped for you.

((so to compensate you would click "Z" to only see the loot that drops for you for that time roll period.))

***-- When i try to click this loot, it does NOT click the item and pick it up, i click repeatedly square on the name and it will not pick it up, i have-to press Z, search the whole screen spammed full of items to try to click on it with those all showing for me to even have a chance, this is the same for items and currencies.

-- This method seems to work for others, and they don't have any issues and i've compared my UI settings with theirs.

What seems to happen is either the item does not pick up at all, or it "clicks-through" the item and picks up where the cursor is laying on the UI. i've even tried holding alt but that didn't work either

i play on fullscreen windowed mode.

How about choosing if you want a XP penalty on death in default? A choice about revealing the entire map instead of having to explore it? Why not give us options for everything?

I would indeed assert that FFA does add excitement and added challenge, and that is why it’s there now, the devs know it.

Personally, one my favorite aspects of ‘loot tension’ are when you are with strangers and they DON’T try and take your loot – you can do the same for them. It’s a feeling of bonding and a great way to make friends.

Overall, I think adding options for looting is the worst possible decision GGG could make and I seriously hope they will reconsider. At best it will split the playerbase, and at worse it will be a bad imitation of D3’s system.

Even if I'm the only one using FFA, I will stay FFA. Just so you and others like you can't have what you appear to want.

Incorrect. Wraeclast is meant to be a place where the enemies aren't just monsters, but your fellow players as well.

I don't think this would be any more divisive than what exists right now. Now there are those who enjoy the loot situation and choose to party and those who refuse to party due to the loot situation.

I would posit that 900+ pages of back and forth suggests that both sides would have sufficient support to sustain themselves. I may be wrong, but if what everyone says they prefer is to be believed there should be ample population for folks to find a group that suits them in a binary scenario (i.e. instanced or FFA). Of course, that conclusion hinges on people honestly meaning what they've said in here. Don't know how much one can count on that.
Thank you, everyone -- and I do mean, everyone -- who participated on this thread. It's through your valiant efforts that we've at last reached our ultimate goal. Let the fun begin!
