Wouldn't the easiest one be the mode that nets you the most loot while also having fun? I thought that was FFA for some of you out there? So what reason would there be to play anything else if you like FFA and normally get more loot out of it?

By the way, maybe it doesn't happen in your group of friends, but when I played in pubs there was always at least that ONE guy who would just follow and loot. I'm not talking the guy who happens to use towers or is a necro, but just flatout sits there and waits for loot to drop and doing nothing within the group.
Whatever loot system GGG decides, the game would still be fun for me personally.
the competitive aspect of POE is in act2 pvp room and races.
theirs nothing competitive about looting.. unless its a competition to see who can do the least for the team and focus the most on items.

Fighting over loot is only fun when its the only option. For me anyways.
Its like going to a bar to pick up girls.. But it ends up being a sausage party until a really hot girl walks in. Then all the guys will generally start going nuts trying to pick her up.
But, if the option exists to be my own Hugh Hefner, id never go to another bar again.
...lol. If that makes any sense.

FFA enforced competition. Is it a competition everyone enjoys? I suppose not. Hence the thread and all, but it's still an open competition between 2 or more players.

no guarantees.. greater amount of loot or possibly less.. it all depends on how good you are at the loot minigame.
can you people stop acting like FFA is a wash now? if it is then it never should of been in there in the first place.
it gives you the option to play your style.. and if you play it well you can get much more loot then you will get in a public party with 10 second timers.
and if you don't want to deal with playing the loot mini game, and just want to focus on fighting and getting some loot also you can play in a room with a 10 second timer.

its simple options, with no advantage over the other other then playstyle
doesn't surprise me you played diablo 3.
