new zealand has plenty of random bugs, but nothing really poisonous.... lots of animals exist here because there aren't many predators, and so they do get eaten :p
Things continue to look better. It's always nice to see progress and new things added. It's even nice to see the little things like trees and rocks get touched up and improved (though admittedly they could still use more work to take care of the rough edges and stretched textures). Also the tall grass looks a little weird in such small tufts. It should be in larger patches.

Good work.

nice review!

1000 passive skills
Can't wait to hear something about them. E.g. Can you spent only one point per skill or more, do you get one skill point per character level or more. Are there skills for level 1,5,10 and so on or can you choose between all the skills from the very beginning. And of course i'm very interested on how it will look... Is there any dev diary planned for the passive skills and how they are working? Would be awesome!

Edit: And... Do you get stat points (for strength, dex, int, vitality,...) too? Or is that all handled with the passive skill system?

Not 100% sure, but I believe the passive skills are laid out in a giant branching tree formation with multiple paths. You can only put one point in a skill, which allows you to then move on to the next skill for that branch of the tree.

Putting points into a Str, Dex, Int passive skill puts point into that attribute for your character and how much you get depends on which of the three you choose and what class you are. Chris spoke a bit about that in another thread:

Different classes get different amounts of attribute from the skill. For example, earlier today I was playing on a Marauder and had to choose between one of several strength skills (they'd give me 7 strength each and help me reach the requirements for the Maul I wanted to use). In the end I picked an intelligence skill, which only gave me 3 intelligence because it's off-class. I had to weigh up the benefits of the skills *and* the attributes gained (but eventually picked an early mana regeneration passive skill because I was using a very mana intensive build).

Edit: The whole 1000 passive skills thing is now dawning on me. Did they mean 1000 different passive skills, or 1000 skills in the tree with some of them repeating? 1000 different doesn't seem possible...
I am a poor freezingly cold soul
So far from where
I intended to go
Id say probably some repeating as in >

Str+12 mace mastery 15% > Str+17 mace mastery 14%> Str+25 mace mastery 11% > Str+29 mace mastery 9% > then mace specialization or something along those lines.

100 levels X 5 Skill points maybe=500 Skill Points less than half of all skills if some allow for multiple skill points to be allocated.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

@rhesos the passives are one point per individual passive .

i asked a similar question and a dev answered :

They have one rank per node, but there are sometimes multiple copies of the same skill nearby (or in a group far away if we want to limit the number of consecutive points the player can put in that skill).
It means that there are other motivators for investing multiple points in the same type of passive - certain arcs of the tree require more of an investment to reach.

So far gear doesn't show up with actual passive skills attached to it. Currently, the only way to get the passives is to put the points in the tree. Of course, we have plenty of mods that are similar to skills in the passive tree, like the example you gave.
