Gameplanet coverage of Path of Exile
" I LOLed - what are the tensions NZ vs AUS anyway? "By launch, the developer intends to make approximately 1,000 passive skills available to players." I would appreciate we players having influence on at least few of them. "I am The Banisher, the ill will that snuffs the final candle." - Seal of Doom (MTG)

I won't contribute with more ideas until GGG mentions at least one we forum users suggested and debated already will be implemented in PoE, or until they ask us about - and guarantee implementation - for some aspect of the game.

Nobody has really asked to implement anything. Someone will bring something up then everyone will argue the shit out of it and draw no conclusion : /.
But I guess what you say is fair enough. Hard to get excited with suggestions when nothing happens with them. Cheaper than free... Speedtree

" I actually did expect more in the developer discussion section or whatever. All they have is a death penalties thread. They should have had a town portal thread, a loot thread, and probably some skill discussion threads. As for guaranteed implementation...that's kind of asking a lot. I would simply be happy with them asking for discussion on specific things and replying to the feedback, etc. The final implementation would be up to their choice. But if they consistently chose something that the players didn't want then I guess they'd run into disappointed players |

Personnally, I can make up suggestions and stuff, but I keep in mind I didnt touch the game yet.
So each time I make up a suggestion I can wonder about its accuracy. If developper suggestions is not yet a place where there are a lot of discussions and stuff it might be because we user didnt even try the game. I think that every player has ton of suggestions for any rpg that they are playin, im not sucker "wow this game is better than D3". But I think for that part, GGG did something really great. They didnt ask us about whatever suggestion we would like to implement in the game, because they know they will just not be able to insert every ideas in the game. I know a game which is Elemental War of Magic, this game is in beta stage and the developpers ask the players to write up all their ideas and suggestion, and you know what? They dont even read those. At first I even wanted to avoid the suggestion part on the forum, usually those sections are among the most active ones, and in another hands the most useless one. But here, there was just one thread, and this thread has been initiated by a developper. This is way different from what I am accustomed? |

from article "Grinding Gear points out that they’re doing their internal play testing on the US servers (from Titirangi) and that the game is quite literally being optimised at -international traffic speeds-" excellent planning . --- .

" i would be more interested in knowing how many passive skills they have at the moment than naming random boosts in a thread at this stage guaranteed is never going to happen, would prefer a list of some which are set in stone and then we can have a discussion about them and what MIGHT be appropriate to add to them. personally i would wait until the beta starts before having people discuss them in regards to adding to the number. easy to say this and that but until we play it who knows " yea i agree, although they are fairly active on the forum explaining things, to anyone who has not been around since last year it may look a bit empty |

" I think it's fine if they keep us in the dark a little about stuff we suggest/debate about on these forums. The more we talk about them, the more ideas and pros/cons get posted, which is good info for them to have. It's probably hard for them to chime in and say, "this is how it's gonna be" because they're still in alpha. Also, they do answer a lot of questions on these forums, while obviously being quite busy. I am a poor freezingly cold soul
So far from where I intended to go |

I think they read the suggestions, but ultimately it's their baby and they decide what they want. We don't know what they have in store for us, so we can't judge the game with the same information they have. I am actually very impressed with how they handle things in the forums, if you compare it with 'that certain developer' at least :)
