Yeah that's exactly how it is, once maxblock reached, massive amount of armour and expecting that you have Aegis Aurora, it's very very rare that you ever see yourself going to HP pool, chaos damage only does that and when you cast stuff with blood magic, rest of the time you'll just see ES jumping up and down :p

I almost want to go low life because I barely take any damage to my HP. I just don't have the sockets for it (I'm using BoR). Maybe you could use a 20% quality bloodrage for the IAS or if you could support the cost with enough HP regen, maybe a high quality blood magic gem too. Just not a whole lot of options I guess for low life melee.

My new gem links for the patch in case it helps anyone. I had to drop tempest shield and am now using a level 14 grace instead of level 20 but I was able to use 7 of the 8 auras and still have room for leap slam + decoy + ele weakness and enduring cry all supported with blood magic. I reserve 752 life and all my mana which sucks (use soul taker for mana issues) but I prefer it to dropping more auras. Also there's the option to drop purity and/or determination and run 1-2 less auras from life which I may try.

OK, so I gave in and tried out Dominating Blow. I never used it, and before when I've seen other people use it, it seemed rather underwhelming. I think Masshypnosis1 is on to something here because Dominating Blow is another excellent skill to use with this set up.

I'm still using the exact same gear and stuff I posted before (using Aegis Aurora now), but instead of weapon elemental damage, I used increased duration. Also for those bosses where minions die instantly You could swap out Dominating Blow with Infernal Blow/Heavy Strike and Increased Duration with Weapon Elemental/Added Fire.

The great thing too with using a Dominating Blow set up is you can also do any map mod you wanted, unlike with infernal Blow you'd usually want to avoid at least elemental reflect maps. Thanks for your post on the Dominating Blow version, Masshypnosis1!

I went with this for the time being, But i was considering dropping wrath or anger and putting grace on life, and adding tempest shield or something.. Maybe drop vitality for tempest...

I tried a low life build using q20 blood rage. I did some lunaris runs with piety and found it no problem at all. I wll try some rare 70+ maps tonight.

I reserved purity, hatred, determination and discipline in mana. Tempest shield, grace and anger in life.

For hard hitting boss, you could just deactivate anger and swap the discipline and tempest shield gems/ Or even just deactivate tempest shield if you find 71% block rate is enough.

my setup after patch:

gear
Spoiler

discipline + grace w blood magic + reduced mana
purity + determination + hatred w reduced mana
tempest shield w reduced mana

i drop anger and wrath, dps still good (near 16k) and 69/60 block w tempest shield up,build still work well w soul taker.

2900 life/1600 es at moment w auras up.

u can add anger/wrath w blood magic if u dont care about life.

My setup at the moment:

Dominating Blow .... Awesome Oo, every map, every mod no problem. That patch didn´t hurt me at all the only "hit" was 200 more life reserved OMG.. That 200 Life doenst matte with 2200 ES and 4000 Life :)

But nice Idea for Heavy Strike. Will think about that and switch for Piety (the only boss minion will die on maps below 74.
Hey guys, can somebody please post me a link with the video of how the Covenant trick works please?

They 'fixed' it in the last patch. If you were to still do it, you'd have to do it every time you zoned in somewhere. If you're still wanting to do it, there's lots of videos out there, just use the search function or Google it.
