Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)
" Nice one, I love how you can just stand there and take it, pressing fire resi flasks from time to time. But boy, does your IIQ/IIR suck ;P Mine sucks probably much more - a sad thing I noticed with this build (does it apply to most melee builds in general?) With so much specific gear stats needed there is very little room for IIQ/IIR. It didn't bother me until I started doing some maps with a friend of mine and now we are trying to make it so that he always lands the finishing blow on a boss / rare. If we do, we have a yellow explosion, if I do - a blue-whiteish one... Shavronne wrapped Kaom's waist,

" Yeah i know exactly what you mean.. Can't get much worse IIQ / IIR than i have currently, both zero, 0, none and it really sucks to solo maps now, which i've stopped totally as the experience gained isn't the main thing anymore, as i've taken all the crucial nodes what i wanted to take.. I geared my old Ranger 2 weeks ago with some of the equipment from this Marauder (belt, chest, soul taker and aegis in switch) and the rest stuff were totally IIQ / IIR items, found Lioneye's bow and 5 linked it really easily, so i went for Split Arrow / Culling / IIR / IIQ / Faster attacks. I had 88 IIQ / 315 IIR behind Split arrow and damn the yellow explosion from bosses. But i got so bored of it, maybe because this marauder is so strong compared to a weakling mf-character and like you said, standing on the firestorm in example, that ranger needed an ambulance when even seeing that firestorm one screen away :( First it really didn't matter having IIQ or IIR at all and never even asked on public games if somebody has it, nowdays on publics i always ask if somebody has any MF stuff on their char, if not, i propably quit the game, some exceptions can be made, if the map is like 77 shipyard and fee is like 4-5 chaos or free, then the XP is welcome, but otherwise no thanks :p Last edited by Juhazzz#5503 on Aug 2, 2013, 8:15:29 AM

I was wondering what your thoughts were on moving down and picking up Inner Force in the late-game. I know the talent was nerfed, but 18% boost to both flasks plus the eight auras you're running could be significant.
I am currently running Anger, Wrath, Hatred, Discipline, Determination, Purity, Grace, and Haste as my 8, and just specced down to it when I hit 82 to give it a shot. So far it seems promising, but figured I would look to see if others had any experience with it. ALSO, question regarding armor selection - I am stuck deciding between straight Armor, and Armor + Energy Shield for things like glove slots and the like. Any opinions here? " I don't find the gains from picking up Inner Force to be worthy of 5 points. I can see picking it up if I ever reach 100, but until then there are better passives to grab. It's not that IF isn't great, because it is, it is more that it is not really a wise choice of 5 points for this build. For your question about armor or hybrid gear, I would suggest that you focus on the items stats instead. In a perfect world you would want high armor/es gear WITH all the bis stats, but that will get incredibly expensive in a hurry. So look for gear with the stats you need first, then when your rich try to find the same stats but on ar/es gear. You can be pretty successful with just 2 items having es on them, but ofc more is better so long as your not sacrificing other important stats. DISCLAIMER!

Oh, stats definitely come first - I just mean from the perspective of crafting. I was trying to decide what base items to use when working on rolling up new gear to try and hit as close to BIS as I could. Armor items have twice as much defense as Armor/ES items, though the ES items act as additional health in most situations.
It would come down to things like Titan's Gauntlets vs Murder Mitts/Crusader Gloves, for example (seeing as how MM and CG are the same thing thanks to Iron Reflexes). I agree that 5 points is a lot to spend for IF, though the reasons I am looking at it are that two of the points - the int nodes - are useful in helping hit requirements for equipping gems. All and all, for those 5 points you're looking at (using the auras I do): + 8 to 14 fire damage (Anger) + 1 to 26 lightning damage (Wrath) + 7% added cold damage based on physical (Hatred) + 9% armor (Determination) + 241 Armor (Grace) + 2% Attack Speed (Haste) + 1% Movement Speed (Haste) + 5% all resists (Purity) + 20 Int + Flask benefits to Run Speed, armor, etc. Those are decent benefits for the 5 points, though I wonder if it is actually more beneficial to save those 5 points plus the 1 point from being able to drop the +30 dex node near blood magic and go up the Ranger side of the tree towards Thick Skin for the extra 28% health, for example. This is for the extreme long-run plan, as eventually this game will reach a stage where it is easier to hit 100. Thanks for your input! Last edited by Halciet#6436 on Aug 3, 2013, 11:58:18 AM

I once regretted some points to see out how much that Inner Force boosts stats with all the auras on. It was 2000 in Armour (28k->30k), 1000 in DPS (12.3k -> 13.x) and 100 in ES, some of ES from those 2x 10 Int nodes on the way there. So for me it's not worth to pick that up, dps is not needed anymore, and i gained 4000 armour by taking the 3 armour nodes on the bottom left (10+10+30%) and there's still to take those 3x armour nodes on the Marauder start, currently sitting on 33k armor with auras, 60k+ granited.
I decided instead to take all the extra endurance charge nodes and use Immortal Call linked with Increased Duration, so that 13 seconds Immortal Call is really neat against Vaal smash, tested it today, took Ruby flask just before the smash, and well, the smash took 600 of my ES, so that's a really good choice if you like not to worry about dying if standing beside Vaal. Also getting new chest in 1-2 weeks, once the crafting is completed, noticed earlier this week that i've stacked lightning resistance way too much, but instead fire resistance is not capped on ele weakness map, eventho i have 12% all resist and 10% all resist when using shield passive nodes taken. So once that chest is crafted ready i will mirror it and regret those 2 nodes, which is quite nice now at 92 lvl to get 2 "free" passive nodes :P edit. and not to forget when they fix this blood magic aura swapping, well i'm atleast not going to use anything but defensive auras then Last edited by Juhazzz#5503 on Aug 3, 2013, 2:05:34 PM
