Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)

I just want to say thanks for the build, I have having quite a bit of fun :D I am currently doing 66-69 pug maps and almost never die if I am careful(Exile's in Anarchy/Boss's are the main things that can kill me) even with crappy gear (As I cannot afford 6 link/Aegis). The main thing I am currently lacking atm is DPS lol, sometimes with a full group I feel as I am doing almost no damage to mobs sometimes. My inferno strike currently says I do about 3600~ damage.

Yeah Im about on the same as you LvL69 1/2 atm, mine Inferal Blow does 3,7k with a 5L, can´t afford a 6L yet, with it it would go up to 6,5k, cause i could use my WED Gem ;). For bosses I just swap the Splash gem vs Life Leech and with a bit of kitting I nearly never die (only die to desync which is annoying)
Can do easly 66-68 Maps with some mods solo. Also got Crest of Perandus, cant afford a Aegis yet either, sucks a bit to be so Gear dependent, but facetanking mobs and bosses is really cool at the end:D.

The only 2mods I don´t do atm are -resistance and +ele refelct maps, those things kill me fast :D

@Dragon, really cool and fun Build, thanks man, got me to play again POE after a longer pause :)

Hey Dragon, do you think it would be possible to run this build while adding some IIQ/IIR viability ? (Ex.: Swap for Reaper's Pursuit with a skill gem linked with IIQ/IIR)

Or would it be too deadly for the build to try such things ?

Given that the build is centered around blocking with Aegis Aurora, I would think that removing the possibility of blocking entirely in favor of a 2 handed Reaper's would be quite dangerous.

Of course, I suck at theory crafting, so this is based on a rudimentary understanding. There may be ways to make such a swap workable, but I would just think areas other than weapon/shield slots would be where you'd want to do it.

So I've been able to snipe an aegis for just over an exalt and I am currently level 77 with 3.7k life, roughly 500 energy shield. I run 6 auras and am at 64% chance to block attacks. I can run into any pack of mobs and face tank them, as they end up healing me more than hurting me atm :P absolutely amazing build. Thanks Dragon! :)

I used to do this with Piety shortly after GGG made lunaris 3 a 68 zone. I had a Reaper on weapon swap linked to a lvl 1 lightning strike and iiq/iir gems. I also had about 40iiq and 80iir on gear. Even this small amount made me very scared at times. Not vs mobs, but vs Piety herself. Even dropping a decoy totem and running a few paces away to swap to reapers for the killing blow proved to be a very dangerous ordeal. And this was before the HP reduction patch.

So, I guess the TL;DR version is, yes you can do it but it is VERY dangerous at times. It may not seem like it for 30 or so runs, but the first time Piety catches you with a 2h and no shield while she is in her Cold form... you better believe you are no longer immortal :P

Hey dragon what do you think about adding these 2 new uniques to the build?

The axe fits the build perfectly i think.

Considering the high hp regen from the build, with a good amount of chaos resist how do you feel about the chest?

Not sure what the "cant fail" interpretation is yet on the axe if it means you gain acuracy depending on the mana cost of abilities or if you can cast with not enough mana which would be pretty op since we wouldnt need to run BM on infernal blow freeing up a new slot for a new support gem. The second option seems too OP though so i doubt it is that one.

The axe is PERFECT... get your hands on one asap. The chest I don't really think would work well with this build.

And while your at it... get one for me too plz. Methinks I will never be able to afford this axe =(

Quick update on it! the axe is actually the 2nd description!!!! so no more need for BM freeing up a support gem on infernal blow!! Increased fire damage anyone? :o
