how much worth a aegis aurora sheild?it seem pretty rare....even on poe,xyz there is none at all on anarchy...lol


p.s:currently lvl 44,work really well so far.nice survavibility,dps isnt bad at all especialy since i got a new weapon that litteraly doubled my dps lol.dps tooltips might be a little low but since infernal blow corpse explosion effect hit everyone around and make everything blow,the dps is actualy higther with that.im starting act3 cruel and only died once due to my own fault....pool of stream act2 cruel again like 10 magic chaos spitter mobs+few other normal+other mobs,i should have run but tried to kill them.it was going fine but they like all shoot at once and i didnt block any of just burn my hp in like 1 sec...i didnt have US this time also,was stun/dsync pretty dadly lol

currently running my infernal blow (20%) with 4L blood magic/melee splash and life gain on hit using hatred/vitality/tempest sheild with reduce mana so i have some mana left to cast curse.work great so far.the only thing i hate about this build so far is the need of stats on gear (dex/int) to be able to use some gear/lvl skill....make it REALLY REALLY difficult to gear up since you cant change anything unless it also have X stats etc...its the big draw back of this build imo...

I think it is like 3-6 exalted on Hardcore. I can't afford it yet, and I'm trying to Chance it (champion kite shield ilvl 62+) but with no success so far (that's my dream actually :p)

Infernal Blow (q13) -> Multistrike -> Melee Splash -> Blood Magic

Tempest Shield, Vitality, Hatred (which I replace by Purity in elemental res lacking places) + Reduced Mana

Grace on Blood Magic + Reduced Mana

Warlord's Mark / Enfeeble


I also play using Frenzy to boost my atk speed / dps.
56% block chance, 28% spell block chance.

So far I have like 94 dex thanks to dex passives leading to Iron Reflexes.
I had only 34 int before. Couldn't level tempest run past lv 4, no purity/enfeeble. So I decided to go higher in the tree before getting the templar area passives, and grab a few +10 int, before coming to the point where I need a lot of hp.

Not sure how much AA goes for on the new leagues. If you are having trouble getting dex/int on your gear while leveling you can always spend some passive points to get what you need until endgame, then respec out of it when you have the proper gear.

yea i took a +30 dex nods that il respect later when i can.im currently going for iron reflexe that should help a lot since my current dmg reduction is ridiculously low.with IR,the evasion on perangus sheild will finaly be usefull and i might grab reduce mana/BM/Grace to help before i can afford a convenant unique armor.

What is your opinion on getting the 5% less mana reservation nodes and specing out of them later? Right now I run grace, disc, and wrath on life and on mana I have purity, vit, and hatred. The bad thing is that leaves nothing left over for anything I'd like to use including tempest shield.

I'm kind of having trouble deciding what to get next as far as passives go. I'm short on resistances so thought I would go with the 10% res shield passives. I was also thinking the mana reserve passives were extremely tempting.

My current gear isn't anything fancy right now. It's odd at times I feel immortal but at others it seems I'm squishy. If I do stuff my level it really seems slow going. I started using molten shell to increase clear speed but now that I have leveled it up it seems to be a wash since it takes to much time to cast over and over and use infernal.

I bought the crazy stat ring the other day to make up for some dex and int so I'm not nearly as int or dex starved as before. Do you guys think the 30% quanity is worth using the boots for or should I just find some resist boots. Although the unique I'm using does have a considerable amount of fire resist.


Any way was just posting to get some of your opinions. Been wanting to do a block build and actually tried with ice nova (seems like a perfect match to me at the time but ice nova is one of those skills that just get worse as you level). Gear and build are looking good man. The times you feel squishy... could that be vs ele dmg dealers? Are you not resist capped? If not then I suggest you follow your instincts and get the shield resist passives. If you are capped, then I suggest getting the 1% regen node near templar start in addition to the 10% hp and max life node.

You can do anything you want and respec later. The beauty of regret orbs is, they arent that expensive. You will need a lvl 20 reduced mana gem in order to run all the auras, so its not a terrible idea to grab a few of those passives until you get 1.

Looking good though! You might try ditching the life leech gem in favor of WED and see if you can survive without it. I rarely use LL these days. My rings and passive physical leech is enough to sustain me vs all but 2 map bosses.

No worries if you need to keep the LL gem, but WED will skyrocket your dps if you can afford it.

I'm not capped right now. I speced into one of the 5% reserve nodes to try it out and while it's not a ton of saved mana it is enough to let me run tempest shield with 13 mana left over (which btw isn't enough for my enduring cry lol). No big deal about enduring though going to take out reduce mana after tempest is cast then throw in a blood gem and back to normal.

I think your right though I will probably end up taking the shield resist ones next. I'm not entirely sure how much of a difference 20% more resists makes but I'm thinking a good bit. Right now lightning is the only one maxed.

Not being capped is a HUGE danger. 20% is absolutely huge. I think this is why you feel squishy at times. Top priority, at all times, is capped resists. Ele dmg will destroy you otherwise. Cap your resists and I bet you will be able to drop your LL gem for WED and a huge dps boost.

I did exactly what Dragon is suggesting today, capped out on all resists besides cold(for now) by replacing my chest, and since that chest also upgraded me from 4l to 5l I was able to add WED and my dps jumped from 3.3k to 5.3k :O
I actually have a bit more resists than I need right now which is making me think I won't need rainbowstrides any time soon, especially with 2 10% resist w/ shield nodes within my reach.

Just wanna thank you again for this guide Dragon, I assumed my char would burn out by the time I reached the real end game but I'm 73 now and absolutely facerolling through everything I see besides the lightning boss in Overgrown Ruins. Can't wait to get into some higher lvl maps so I can chew em up.

just like that,why using a dispel frozen/chill mod on one of your flask if,you use purity+max res nods+5% max cold resist from aegis aurora sheild.that make you cold res crazy hight+decent hp so overall,you should never get freeze.wouldnt it be more usefull a dispel shock or bleed?
