Any form of Auction House in the future?

Something simple as a Broker house would work quite well.

So for example you could add your item and say your interested in 3 Alchemy Orbs or 10 Chromatic Orbs and then ones who pays that amount buys the item.
Just as simple as that.
Then by seeing the owners name you can contact him to barter the price if you don't want to pay the price.


An Auction House, Broker House, Ingame Store or whatever you wanna call it actually can be a great tool/feature for the game as long as it is designed well.
And if you can access it by a posting board in the towns then it's gonna add to the immersion also.

Not to come off as a jerk but if they even consider an ah I'll drop this game like a bad habit.
The barter system and complete lack of p2w is this games major selling points to me

A trading system is coming, be patient. It won't be AH, but it will work ingame and on the forums, so you can trade even if you are surfing from like your phone or whatever.

That will be a good addition and a good tool for the economy that will add to the immersion by keeping you from logging out of the game.

Again in the other game there are no "Evil" economic tools. There is only bad and greedy game/economy design.

its not viable with the currency system we have ingame.


there is no currency that is standard ingame, there are some items that can be considered currency items, but hardly standardized, and there are a lot of them, overall how do you expect to sell and buy items in an auction setting without a common currency.

I'm not sure if someone has brought this up earlier, I just got home and didn't want to read through every post so sorry if this is redundant.

During a huge unofficial Q&A session Chris had with Normal Global Chat a week ago, Chris mentioned that there will most likely be an implemented Auction House in PoE. The idea is to enhance trade in a way that isn't spammy in Global Chat.

Now before any AH opponents start to freak out, GGG has actually taken the necessary precautions to make sure that the AH doesn't break the feel of the game like it has in other ARPG's. They are making it so that there is no buyout price on the AH so that the feeling of more convenient trade doesn't completely trump the need to go out and search for items yourself, while building bids will increase the profit of trading and simultaneously require a large time investment for both parties.

Personally, I would think of it just as improved trading methods. Chris even said that it wasn't exactly an AH that we've grown to know in other games.

When trading/bartering becomes an automated process, much of what I love about this game is lost. I truely enjoy meeting new people and interacting with them dickering over prices. The ah will just make things an impersonal store, Which helps lead to a community much like wow's or diablo.

Then all I can say to GGG is:

Please make a non AH Normal and Hardcore League. I wouldn't want to play in a league where people have constant access to all kinds of items.

I think having an AH league pair and a non AH league pair would also nicely seperate the community into serious (or "normal") PoE players, and free2play casual gamers. Since they have an AH, they have space in the global chat where they can bitch about not being able to respec or that the combat flow sucks.

I'm a silver supporter, and I would pay half my points for a non AH league.
