0.10.8 Information and Race Updates

So basically you are saying that you would like everybody around you, including doctors like orthopaedists, but also nurses, hairdressers and janitors to just jump in all together and collectively try to conduct a surgery over your broken leg? Man, those devs, they are not all the programmers who know how to work on desync. They are artists and guys that specialize with other stuff too. So they are doing their job. And the team who is supposed to be working on desync and who actually knows what to do, is working on desync, I bet my hat on that.

Having Merciless Act Three pitched at higher levels does make it harder to progress through it in one sitting. You do have to repeat areas. It is an intentional part of the design that there comes a point (in the higher difficulties) where the game is too hard for your character and you have to improve it by gaining new items before you can progress.

This bit really worries me and makes me feel that this is just a cheap way of "extending" the life of the game by forcing people to have to grind out the same zone over and over again just to advance to the next zone and then grind that over and over again before advancing to the next zone.

Might as well just put a lock on the exit of each zone until it has been run x amount of times, as least you would know when you're supposed to be able to progress.

I bet the people who spend time trading are loving this need for people to have to acquire even better gear to advance now.

What ever happened to playing a game and being able to progress without being forced to repeat the same area over and over again, not because of your build, but because the game devs seem to think it's fun and enjoyable to force players to grind the same area repeatedly just to proceed.

Yes a lot of people run the same areas over and over again, but that is by choice, not forced design.

Getting through Act 3 merciless can be more than hard enough depending on your build as it at the moment.

I wonder how many players will quit their char (or the game) part way through act 3 merciless because they think it's a bad build stopping them progressing without realizing that the game is now designed to stop progression.

Yes the higher levels at the end does not sound too bad, it's the built in "you shall not pass...go back and grind again and again" that puts me off.

If GGG has a desync team, which I sincerly doubt, then I must congratulate them, that is, for making even the D3 devs look competent in comparison.

No and No, I'm 46 and been playing argps probably since they first existed on computers (hell there were no home pcs, or internet when I was a kid and computer games consisted of tennis and squash on a console. If you wanted to play a rpg you got your dice, paper and pencils out along with the D&D manual)

I'm commenting about this argp appearing to change to become more grinding and less fun.

Turn all new 66 and 67 maps into 68+. 66 67 maps don't need to exist. Turn the mob level up in them.

+1.
Especially, if certain levels of areas in Act Three Merciless become 66+ (which is a good idea I think).

Posting as a very frequent Lightning Warp user here so please hear my plea.

Lightning Warp needs:

* No minimum distance (this is just annoying, add a minimum 0.3 second delay instead)
* Able to go through objects, like the carts in arsenal. Why cant i teleport behind them? This whould be a great use for the skill!
* Able to click anywhere even ON objects and teleport as close as possible. Sometimes when i frantically want to teleport away i cant because i keep hitting a little stalagmite or whatnot with my cursor.
* Fix the bug which sometimes cancels the telport just as it is about to resolve. Happens about 1/50 teleports.

If you fix this i and all Lighting Warp users in the game will be forever grateful!

Cheers!
Being able to still make some progress even if you have no maps left, would be really nice.
