Name: Instantkill
Class: Ranger
Level: 59
Build: Claw physical
After the wipe of stats in the 0.9.10 patch, i've decided
to go with an unusual build, that means claw phys dmg with flicker strike. Looked good on paper. Now it's impossible to kill cruel as a 59 ranger. So go and have some fun :)

HAHAHAHA, you aren't the only one that the skill reset gave htem a character that doesn't work.

I left my ranger with none of my points used since I don't want to screw her up, waiting for another patch.

But have friends that ruined their builds, and took some time to fix or they quit.

My builds usually start on paper, as I level figure out what needs changing, and do so as I go, utlize quest respecs. And then I get something similar to what I planned yet is still fun and useable. Sucks when you just burn all your points into something to realize it doesn't work.

I wonder if the devs will try it so they can feel your pain?

Please submit the name of any character on your account that you'd like to see featured. A quick explanation of what makes its build special would be appreciated. We'll pick from them pretty arbitrarily (looking for really interesting builds that do things in unusual ways). Depending on the number of submissions, there's no guarantee that you'll be featured but thanks very much for the time spent submitting it.

I think my Proliferated Poison Arrow templar might be fun to show.

He raises buffing mobs as spectres, 5 zombies and a handful of skeletons. All these are improved with Hatered and Wrath auras.

Yet he doesn't actually need the summons to do well, as he has the tank nodes from the mara tree, along with Iron Grip to do decent damage with his bow. Molten Shell provides additional armor (used only as a constant defensive buff), while Vulnerability adds to the Poison DoT damage, which is just another bonus to dps when the minions tank everything on the screen. Phase run is used for movement.

Total of nine skills, so the auras need to be alternated. He's really a jack of all trades, as he has no specializations.

I'd suggest running him through Old Fields/Crossroads in merciless, to make gorilla spectres create uber-minions with their frenzy charges. It's quite a spectacular light-show. :)

Notice:
I just re-specced his skill nodes, as I had not done this after last reset. So he might not be skilled on the current backup. Here is the build:

All of my good characters are on alpha...

My newest favorite (WF_Sparky) is a shadow grenadier that relies on Fire Trap - Added Cold Damage - Chance to Ignite - Increased Critical Strikes with a lot of crit chance and spell/elemental damage passives. On a crit, the enemies are either shattered or frozen/chilled in a field of fire.

I've been playing around with using Critical Weakness and then overwriting that with Vulnerability right after the initial hit, so the fire does more damage. Elemental Weakness just doesn't seem as fun.

He does well offensively in MoC, but his defense is lacking somewhat. Whirling Blades helps with that.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!

Save us from this masquerade of lies-hows.

Path of Inspiration?

Exile of Originality?

Ouch. My best is not much better I guess.
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)

How about 'Champions of the Maelström'?

Might as well chip in for the good cause!

Name: astroTemplar
class:^
level:63
league: Default

features:
-Summoner build w/ skellies, zombies, spectres (the usual!);
-Eldritch Battery (its a beta, so might as well try it ^_^)
-7! auras running at the same time
-leadership passive (aura radius)
-over 110 mp/sec regen

The build allows constant, uninterrupted casting (no need for mana pots); safety of the minions; one-screen wide auras, perfect for team play.
The only problem is buffing up my hp to not get one-shotted in chaos, but so far I'm circumventing the problem by stocking on granite flasks in my belt (current setup: 1 animation life flask, 3 iron skin granites, 1 heat sapphire).

PS: Before experimenting with eldritch battery, I wouldn't have considered my build anything special but running so many auras now is hilarious, especially when teaming up with new people!

Isn't that implying that only Maelstrom-level characters are worthy of this video series? Given that Maelstrom is a placeholder end-game designed to be insanely hard (if you can even say it's all that designed compared to the rest of the game) and not really an indication of how the game will be, I think this would be a tragedy of great proportions.

+1 for "Paths of the Exiled".
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
