Character: ArOnin
Class: Glasscannon Fire Ranger Interesting because: Heavy synergy with critical hits Highly fragile This ranger focuses on achieving the highest possible Fire Damage, getting a reliable critical strike chance, and using the Burning effect as both a form of crowd control and AoE damage. The higher the fire damage, as well as the critical strike multiplier and Shocked debuffs, the greater the Burn DoT becomes, which then gets shared through an Elemental Proliferation support gem. Also interesting to note is the bare minimum survivability she has: she only has the most efficient +life passives, and picked up Iron Reflexes, all to make sure that in case she does gets hit, it's only for 90% of her HP, as opposed to 100%. To avoid a second hit, all her flasks have +movement speed mods. If you want to show off this character properly, be sure to use a spare Elemental Proliferation gem in a 5L/6L bow of choice. I've yet to find one :( | |
Tell me what you think about this guy ::- ).
Character: Darkxon. Class: Shadow (Blood Magic, One Handed, Perma-Blood Raged). Qualities: it only *seems* fragile, but isn't. Works wonderfully through large packs of monsters and handles bosses very well. The video shows all my gear and my Passive Skill Tree as well. I'm having fun in Level 45 Ruthless Fellshire with my Level 43 character. YouTube Demo. About: You might say that it's quite a risky build, given the fact that the Shadow is quite frail and I'm using both Blood Magic and Blood Rage. However... you'd be wrong. I'm waltz-ing through any Ruthless area and only if I push myself too hard do I risk dying. This build has awesome destruction power so it could be classified as a "glass cannon". Not featured in the video (but you can see in the gear listing below): I connected my Viper Strike gem with an Increased Duration gem ::- ), using one of the free sockets I have in my shield. General Gameplay Strategy: as long as you're able to keep up with the charges and swoosh from one monster pack to the next, you'll have the dance of your life ::- D. And it's actually quite easy to do so. Of course, every now and then, the charges expire, usually when I get too focused on surviving. I expect this to improve as I get more *into* this build (get used with the skills - I completed their final (for Merciless) selection just a few levels ago). Boss Strategies: At least at the moment, I don't care how many bosses I'm fighting. I don't need to pull them apart or exercise too much care. I just wade in, Viper Strike them, use Cleave a lot to get some of my life back, if that doesn't work, I use potions. Sometimes I'm using Molten Shell. Since my Viper Strike is connected with Increased Duration. Gear:

name:banezilla
class:juggernaut (Marauder) skills:shield charge; leap slam auras: wrath, anger, and haterd support gems:(sheild charge)- added fire damg., added cold damg.,and weapon elemental damg (leap slam)-life gain, and weapon elemental damg. im just at the end of act 1 Cruel and love my shield charge alot it's like playing pinball, he runs and slams into one enemy and turns and runs towards another "bam" bam" "bam". and when i get surrounded i use leap slam and that hits almost all around me and then its back to pinball (LOL). so far so good. what i like most is he is not a sit back and see what happens kind of of build, you have charge forward and meet them head on. im still tweeking out my mana pool so i can get another aura. i know it may sound simple and it is but it's also so much fun i only have hit the keyboard for potions and thats only with boss fights really. so for me its ideal (dont like using the keyboard much for games.) i think once i hit lv. 60 my juggernaut will be on top of the food change. i'll be putting more mana on him in the next 5 lv's then its on to resistance nodes and armor and more damg. Juggernaut p.s. u may be saying "why not use the templar class instead to get the most out of your passives?" well yes i may do that after the wipe but i didn't know i was going this build when i first started until i fell in-love with shield charge and i just kept on going. Hey Chris, check out my lvl 40 flicker templar called 'MeTheGreat'
He uses a double handed axe (unique) which always hits. Flicker does a healthy amount of damage, with a couple of increased damage support gems, such as +30% and +30% on full life etc. He has very good movement speed and pretty good attack speed. Also use bloodrage for some awesome flicker massacres. dps is satisfactory for now. I wanted to make him quick and very hard-hitting. I use discipline to keep myself safe, and at full life for +30% damage, as well as molten shell at times. I use Lightning Strike for crowd control. Firestorm is also available, and is very effective at times. Also use phase run a lot, because it's brilliant. All in all, my char is strong, extremely quick and durable (most of the time), and even though mana often depletes with flicker, using the mana flasks keeps it going, and they refill in a matter of seconds because i'd have killed a dozen by then. Flicker is also great because it keeps you from getting surrounded too much, and with blood-rage, it kills everything. Also, Granite flask is great in the middle of mobs. The movement speed is from item bonuses, including from the axe Still need to fine tune quite a bit. I've got a bunch of different gems i want to try and use, and things i want to change. The skill tree could have been handled better... I would really really love your advice on how exactly i could improve :) , because there is room for so much improvement in so many ways. but I'm still really happy with the char, as he is pretty badass, and can handle any situation considerably, atleast at this lvl and difficulty. The equipment, esp the axe helps a lot, is in many ways, the basis of this build. the char is lots of fun to play Thankyou for making POE so awesome ! It really is something amazing. :) you exist because I allow it, and you will die because I demand it Last edited by MeTheGreat#2168 on Jul 13, 2012, 9:53:38 AM

I'd like to submit my newest character for the build of the week.
First I will show you the spec I have so far. RnG_BurningBlood My plans are to grab Lava lash and Ice bite, for my next set of points after that I will head to Thick Skin. I am using Lightning strike as my main form of damage, with shield charge for getting around. Also important to note I am running two curses with Unavailable which are vulnerability and elemental weakness. For defensive purposes I am running Molten shell and Enduring cry. So far I am Act 2 in Merciless with 0 deaths, and currently sitting at 92.5 something HP regen per second. My plan was to build a Character as tanky as possible using the minimum number of passive nodes for actual damage purposes. Now presenting! Venom ink; malice in the pen, poison on the paper, anger in the mind. Brought to you by Dat LLC, in partnership with Harassment Industries. *Disclaimer* No actual products are being sold, shipped or presented. *End of disclaimer* Last edited by DarkNRG#0841 on Jul 13, 2012, 3:20:40 PM

Fast_Fire Default Ranger (64) Lightning Archer With Chaos Inoculation (CI)
Skills
Main Skill:
* Lightning Arrow ^ Weapon Elemental Damage ^ Lesser Multiple Projectiles / Faster Attacks ^ Increased Critical Damage Secondary Skill: * Poison Arrow ^ Increased Duration Auras: * Clarity * Discipline * Grace * Wrath ^ Reduced Mana Cost
Description
Pros:
Chaos Inoculation gives this ranger the freedom of stocking up on Diamond Flasks rather than Life Flasks. Using lightning arrow is great because it can wipe out single targets as well as groups in a flash. Through the use of gear, Clarity, and two mana flasks, mana cost usually isn't a problem; If a fight gets too long, a few doses of Poison Arrow can help finish the job. Cons: The downside of this build is that this ranger is a glass cannon; she heavily relies on the player's skill to keep a distance from foes. Although the energy shield delay recovery makes her quickly recover from lucky shots, she can't rely on her evasion to stand her ground. In response, she uses fast boots and Phase Run to get in and out of fights quickly; she also carries a Granite Flask just in case. Nemesies: Charging Rhoas Flicker Strike Ghosts Cold Snap Water Elementals Puncturing Monsters

Watched the newest build of the week video, that was interesting. That rare map sounds dangerous. 88% bonus damage as fire damage for monsters. 54% pack size.
The build is very interesting as well, I don't think I would have EVER thought of doing something like that. Although watching that it makes me want to play a fireball witch with firestorm totem or something. The new panel Looks AMAZING. omfg I cannot wait to stare at it for HOURS for new builds. Are there plans to release the new panel on the website before patching the game? That would be cool, I could do a new build before I even play the new patch. Have a good one.
