3.21.2 Patch Notes (part 2 - restart)

S-s-s-s-s-s-studders non-stop. I can't stand still in my hideout without dipping 10-30 fps every few seconds. My performance monitor looks like a volatility graph.

I did all the steps listed in the troubleshooting guide and it did not fix anything.

I'm running old-ish hardware. i7 4790k and an overclocked geforce 1080. The game is installed on a ssd.
what a fucking shitshow update, im re-installing the whole game now.. and hopefully it will fix me even being able to launch the fucking game..

GGG FIX YOUR GAME (quin voice)

it was fine yesterday before update. now my game stutters like crazy. revert patch pls.
Having the same issue, before patch game ran perfectly fine, now I have frame drops into the low 10s when something is going on on my screen. Luckily I got no game crash and luckily I didn't die (hardcore player).

I guess I will just play standard or some other game until it's fixed or someone finds a workaround.

System I'm currently playing on: 5600x - 1080 ti - 32 GB 3200 Mhz. Also gpu temps skyrocket, higher than when doing heaven benchmarks.

I also have a 5800X3D - 2080 ti - 32 GB 3600 Mhz rig, same issue there.
It stutters for me as well. Before patch, it was running quite smoothly with the occasional stutter for more complex maps. But now, it happens most places, like most maps, also in town where it did not stutter that much.
So :( missing the smooth version.

GPU: Quadro M2000, CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F 2.90GHz, 8GB RAM, SSD
On DirectX 11.

Also it takes waaay longer to load into maps/town.

Well, it's time to go back to GrimD...

To anyone else with Linux, this fixes launching the game:

Can't believe this is happening in 2023.

Ok so as someone suggested, I tried bringing all sound levels to 0 (except for loot and messages). This seems to have improved a bit the overall performance in maps, but it's not good as it was before. Also playing with no sound for me is a really bad experience honestly. I love the game sound effects, and some of them are pretty helpful for danger awareness.

Hopefully this issue will be addressed quickly.

EDIT: someone suggested to enable the "triple buffering" option in the graphics menu. After I did this, performance improved DRASTICALLY. I also brought back my sound levels and now the game performs almost like before (at least that's what I feel).

I suggest you guys to give that a try.

Also play a bit in order to let shader cache build up.
