Map Management Resource

If it shows then it shows, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Usually double boss is just "oh here's your nice 100+q map and by the way you get more boss loot."

Since the boss drop rate increase, it may be worth just a tad more as bosses can drop +2 level maps, but it's early to tell.

Regarding lower maps: never bothered rolling those super optimally, like maze isn't mandatory. As long as you can buy maps, it's more cost-efficient to do so for level 67/68 maps (trans and run) or 70-71 (alch and run).

Just tried a Residence map and only had the trio of attack speed/cast speed/movement speed for a monster buff and everything else was pretty much neutral. The map boss is indeed Dominus during his first phase and this guy is honestly not worth the effort. Died three times to him and wish I had just skipped him, but being at level 79 it isn't too big a loss, though still stings. Anyway, at the very least I was able to come to the conclusion that at the moment he's really not worth the time or effort and should just be skipped.

1. His 'lightning hose' pretty much will rip you apart even with 75% lightning, and he uses it so much that it's really not worth trying to use Topaz Flasks to tank it. You COULD use Saffell's Frame, but there's another problem...

2. His exploding minions seem to do a combination of physical and I'm going to guess fire damage (correct me if I am wrong) and since SF won't block physical attacks, you're taking the full brunt of the damage and they HURT.

3. "The Light of Divinity" seems to be physical/lightning, but I'm pretty sure it's a massive physical attack and with the added attack/cast speed, it's all but undodgable if you're melee like I was (IB/HS sword and board style Scion). Well, it does appear to be able to be evaded, or blocked (going to guess blocked), but again, if you're using SF then you won't be blocking it.

4. Oh yes, forgot...he uses that LOVELY (/sarcasm) shock floor, so it's very easy to take even more damage!

I'm sure I got some stuff wrong, but again, from what I have seen he's rather overtuned at the moment IMHO and should just be avoided right now.

Residence is possibly the worst 74 map.

Maze adds 2 small rooms in the first floor, and i think nothing to the rest floors. Not 100% for this though, have to run more.In the bright side, some huge packs spawn,so the +pack size is the way to go imo for this map.

Dominus as Tanakeah mentioned is extremelly overtuned for melee chars.

With some affixes the boss is almost impossible and do it for the lol's only if you just leveled up.

Opinions on Twinned mod?
After the change to map boss drop rate I believe that it's actually a pretty decent mod (most of the time); if not for map drops then at least for rare drops.
Of course, this mod is not meant for certain maps (Piety, Dominus, etc).

Its exponentially better with a dedicated magic finder now. I'll have to investigate how efficient it is but I can make no promises especially with the up and coming changes.

I know some of what will change but nothing is set in stone yet. A lot of the mods will undergo review and the entire resource will change then.

Yes, but can you honestly say you're not looking forward to it?

Hey guys, when do you know that you are ready to start maps ?

I just hit 70, never found a map, and i'm just starting act 3 in merciless (which seems a little bit hard)...

Any idea of what stats I should have to start maping ?

Nice resource, thanks a lot!
By 70 I've usually been mapping for almost 10 levels, so I'd say you're a bit behind the curve. Expected for a new player, but still.

lvl 66/67 maps fall somewhere between docks and piety runs, since most of the bosses (cept gardens) are easier than piety.

That's about when you should consider starting maps, and about where you start finding them as well.
Lol I've found that I am on the lower end of the distribution curve when it comes to currency and maps. Now I only recently hit 69 with my duelist, but have been doing a LOT of dock runs and have not seen a single (not 1) chaos orb, divine orb, exalted orb (yeah fuckin right) or any maps at all since I've been there. And by a lot I mean well over 60+ runs. I think the RNG in this game just doesn't like me.
