Map Management Resource

just ran a courtyard. had 41% larger area and yes it was huge, but there was mostly dead space and barely any mobs. i think magic+rare monster is the way to go on this one.

the boss room is quite big, you can even split them up. leap slam fire shooting melee guy hurts a lot. also keeping the cyclone dude at distance is a good idea.
personally, I think this is the best thread on this forum that I've seen yet. Thanks so much for this!
FYI these supposed map Drop Buff , i didnt notice any better Maps dropping , i did 69-72 Maps and its the same lackluster Map Drops as always.

boss loot has been considerably boosted. I got 2 uniques and tons of rares from bosses in 2 out of 3 trash blue maps Ive ran with 0% rarity. looks pretty comparable with what content bosses drop.

What level maps?Group or solo?
I'm running some 73's now solo and the difference isn't as great as you describe.

low level maps for testing , 68-69s. solo. it was a very very small sample size though.

Just a small correction for the Torture Chamber boss: the mobs spawn in the 4 little "pools" around the room, rather than on the player(s).
What's an acceptable quantity to run a level 67 map at??? Is 30 sufficient?

any quantity, really. just trans/aug and run if you can do the mods. alch and run if you're very rich

as you go up tiers of maps, lower level maps (66-67) will rain down. I would aim to try to maximize quantity of the highest tier you have to get into higher tier, but you also have to look at price of maps. 67 maps usually are 1 alc in permanent league and maybe 2 alcs in new leagues. if you use more than 1-2 alcs worth to roll it, not really efficient.

I read in this thread that for a few maps it's almost mandatory to have certain affixes, ie. Sewer having the Labrynthe affixe. So are you saying not to run my lower maps until i run out of higher maps??? If so i've been going about this all wrong. However I have been building a good 67,68,69 stock. I had run all my 66's till i ran out and had a stock of about 35 or so 67's. Now i've been running 67's collecting more 67's and 68s and 69s. Should i start running the 69s right away???

There is no right or wrong way. Generally, it is best to invest your currency in your highest tier maps, as these represent the greatest scope for progression. As you have 69 maps, you'll get more focusing your currency here and running these.

After you have a significant pool of 68+ maps (about 20), you'll find that you don't need to optimally roll your 66's and 67's anymore. The "mandatory" element really comes into play when you've just reached a particular tier, and have a small map pool at that tier or beyond.
Opinions on Twinned mod?
After the change to map boss drop rate I believe that it's actually a pretty decent mod (most of the time); if not for map drops then at least for rare drops.
Of course, this mod is not meant for certain maps (Piety, Dominus, etc).
