Ok, thx. I'll be patient then :)
Anyway, it's gonna get easy to gain some level since the new patch has been implemented.
I'm not going to pollute this thread by continuing to argue, so I'll stop.

Anyway, as to what I posted about earlier:

Also, am I correct in stating that map quantity % only affects the NUMBER of maps that drops, and not the level of the map? For example, if run a level 72 map with 100% map quantity and have 5x 66 maps that drop, should I think to myself, ok those chisels and chaoses did their job; they caused 5 maps to drop. I just had bad luck in the level rolling. Does each map level from 66 to the current map level +2 have an EQUAL chance to roll? Or is there some weighting toward progression i.e. higher levels, and does map quantity improve this distribution in favor of higher level maps? From what I've seen, there is actually weighting toward lower level maps. The number of 66 maps that has dropped in 70+ maps is unbelievable.

We don't know. This information is not disclosed to us. Statistically speaking, total map drops are weighted in favour of lower maps because only magic monsters can yield a +1 and rares a +2.

If you are inquiring about distribution of odds on a single monster, I can give you no solid answer because we don't have a large enough sample size nor theory to prove that maps have equal or biased weightage on a single monster. My current assumption is that the distribution occurs over a bell curve.

A 77 map can show this with little bias as all maps can drop from any monster; results suggest that most maps will drop within the median range of maps, the least common being 66 and 77 maps (lower and upper percentiles) but again, the empirical evidence is inconclusive thus far.

Shipyard can't roll massive can it? I've only seen labyrinthe appear on the ones I've done.
Thank you for your response Lyralei. It is an interesting idea that the map level distribution is a bell curve for the available levels, rather than skewed toward one direction or level across the playing field.

The only thing that directly influences the drop rate of maps within a map is the IIQ of the map

Atfer running maps now about for 2 weeks, mostly together with some friends, i begin to feel that this is not really working as intended. (Or our RNG is extremely badly)
All of us bought a dozend 66 maps so we could start with them. Taking my pool as example, we started 2-3 being grey maps, and then went over to blue ones.
It went fine in the begining, and after 2 days i had a nice pool of roughly 40 maps, most 66-67 but also 4-5 of each level higher up to 70.
Again, we did not run any yellow maps or so. Most where around 4-15 IIQ.
It happened rarely that no map did drop. Most times 2, and sometimes 3.

But since patch its just weird or we got cursed or something.
4 People, all had a nice pool of maps up to 70.

About when the last patch hit, we changed over to running yellow 69/70 maps with IIQ of at least 50+.
And today, no one of us has any map left higher then 67...

We had runs of 20 !!! Maps with not a single map drop. Runs of dozend maps with only 66/67 dropping.

And what really makes me really doubt that the map IIQ increases map drops is, in these 2 weeks we had seen a single map that dropped more then 3 maps. And this was a grey 66.

Since running yellow maps we`ve seen about three times more uniques then map drops :(

Id really understand and like the "idea" that running maps should be challenging, cost intensive and so on...
But its just frustrating when your forced to run non challenging low level maps over and over again just to "maybe" get one more higher level map that you run and end up again with no maps left...

This needs a change so urgently...
Why even make the map drops random ? People want to run challenging maps over and over. It would be so much more if, for example, the boss would have a guaranted map drop of equal or higher level and no other mob in there could drop a map. If you fail the map, you need to start over and know its your fault. If you can do it, you get at least a map of equal level so can continue.
Me and a bud recently started mapping, following this guide (very nice guide, btw...thanks!). Started out great, until quite recently (basically until after the patch...coincidence?). We pounded out all our 66-68's for a couple weeks, saving the higher one's for this weekend.

Yesterday, we did our last 8 lvl 69's and a lvl 70, all rare, pretty good rolls...and got 2 lvl 66 maps and a 1 lvl 67 map. No biggie, I figured, we finally got bit by the rng gods. Pissed, but oh well.

Today, we did TWELVE 70 maps. Paid close attention to the mods, got a nice pool, no underground sea's, and 7 were Pier or Graveyard that we chiseled up. Alc'd and chaos'd them all until they were all pretty nice. The 'worst' map was a Q 58% Pier Map that had Massive and Magic Monsters (i.e. hardly a 'bad' map). All of them had at least one 'good' massive/magic monsters/pack size mod, 8 of the maps were over 90%, one was even 118%.

We got 1 lvl 66, 1 lvl 68, and 1 lvl 69 map. This included a slick streak of doing a 94, 95, 95, and 118% in a row and getting NO map drops.

RNG? Hell, I don't know, but that was by far the most frustrating weekend of gaming I've ever had. My friend doesn't wanna play anymore, and frankly, I don't either. Certainly taking a break.

fwiw, all that horribad luck is post-patch this weekend, and I run 101% IIQ and 166% IIR full time. bleh...

..and this is not the place to suggest changes. Personal IIQ/IIR has no effect on map yield. There is no correlation between the patch and the lack of maps.
Ya, aware nothing has an effect on map drops but the quantity of the map itself, was just including my numbers because others had mentioned it.

Was more just wanting feedback on bad RNG. Cuz that was one shittastic weekend that I'm having a hard time putting the RNG label on.

In terms of map drops is alt-regal mazing going to have better returns for the cost than chaosing for something nice like pack size or bandits?
