Z's **0.9.12** LS CI GR! Spec

Good morning! First time posting here.
I took Tyranthals spec as a guide when I first started playing.
It was slow at first, but around 30-35 when I got some mana leech on my gear it really started to shine!
I'm lvl 52 now and still going strong. Some areas I even switch out my shield for another dagger for speed :P

I was making some changes to the spec and then checked this thread. Noticed Bretout did the exact same thing to the Bloodthirst path.

What I have now is this.

Shock/Freeze/Blaze when you link a Firetrap to added cold and lightning dmg. I use it on every large pack, and it's glorious!

Small tip for starting out using this spec.

* Go for Adder's Touch first.

* Use Dual Strike or something until you have enough mana leech and some +str. Lightning Strike is kinda heavy on both mana and str.

* Firetrap. Firetrap. Firetrap!

Thanks Tyranthal and everyone else helping in this thread!

Dornal i changed your tree a bit - same number of points spent but +10% critical dmg multiplier.

1.Got some questions what is best for escapes - whirling blades or shield charge?

2.Should i aim for Evasion/ES gear or pure ES?

3.Does LS benefit some how from dual wielding ? except for IAS(dual wield bonus) - do you have higher crit chance while having 2 daggers?

4.Since all these builds use CI is "melee dmg on full life" any good ? or is Added Fire Dmg/ Culling Strike just better - i don't have any option to compare those on high lvl.
Heya Zhaal,
I'm also trying out your spec with small changes that I feel fit me/my shadow Necator atm. lvl 24.

I must stay it's a very powerful spec, but even with Life gain on hit gem I have to be careful now and then :) as I don't have enough with energy shield (only 82 so far, hard to get right/good gear at low lvl)

Hasn't eighter got any good dagger so I go with claw until I find one.

Anyway thanks for the tips and the upload of your gear with gems so one get an idea of a sexy shadow.

Dual Wielding daggers, especially 80% crit daggers would give you 160% increased crit just from the daggers implicit mods. I personally have been using shield charge for the entire life of my Shadow because I love shield charge. The fact that it multiplies damage over range and stuns makes it a really potent kill tool vs bosses. Anyone else have some feedback on Whirling Blades and why they like it better?

For anyone with strength issues, this is how I solved it:
Unavailable
This made the early game really easy from all the added damage and made it so I haven't had to grab a strength node yet.

Dornal/Bret I like what you switched around. If we get another passive tree reset Im going to try that & skip bloodthirst.

Its great to hear from ppl that are leveling with this spec. You guys are the first to do so with the 0.9.11 version. It takes time to get a feel for incoming attacks & manually evading them. Before you get CI & need to regain HP try linking life gain on hit to whirling blades.

From all the great feedback, I've tweaked the build for lvl 75. It looks optimized & balanced. Makes me want to actually level instead of farming endgame dangerously lol.

Actually I have my Own build for a Dagger, as a Witch.
But I'm Also going to use:
Unavailable

Because i have That I need my Mana regeneration increase.

It will Provide me a additional 250% increase Crit chance from 5 Power charges. I have 305% from Passives & 40% from a Single Dagger.
that would give me about 595% Increase in Crit Chance.

This is what I'm looking for.

This is were i'm at.

Hey was just wondering on suggestions for The bandit reward for this build, choosing between mana, resist all, or the passive point, and if your preference would change for HC.

Also, I really like this build, trying to get it to work in HC, anyone have any suggestions/tips on how I could increase survivability without losing too much dps?
Another one here.
I started a new Shadow yesterday, because I kinda derped my first one where I tried too much and spent all my respecs, so I tried a build I came up with myself. Turns out it's basically the same as yours, with a few changes.
Since I DW Daggers I went for the Speed, Block, and +DMG modifiers at the beginning below Repartee.

I went for Adder's Touch first and move north now towards CI, grabbing crits,dmg,ev/es, and when I feel ready CI. Are there any numbers (EV,DEX,INT,Mana) or ratios (ev:es) one wants to have before grabbing CI?

I'm at lvl 33 and I basically use Critical Weakness, Fire Trap, Detonate Dead on packs
Viper Strike on Elites/Bosses
Dual/Double Strike and Flicker Strike to take out isolated mobs.

Haven't quite decided yet on my Aura: I switch between Grace and Discipline, but at my low levels of both Evasion and ES, I can't really tell a big difference.

I go solely for EV/ES armor and when I play it smart and stick to my tried and true mechanics I never die. When I'm distracted or want to go head-to-head in big packs I won't survive, though.

I leveled Lightning Strike but don't use it yet. It uses way too much Mana and the +STR requirement is too steep to see any benefits over Flickering/Viper/Double/Dual Strike and Traps while being low level.

Now to my questions:
- On my last run I found Elemental Proliferation and Hatred which both seem kinda nice, but I couldn't really find a use to it. Maybe someone can describe in detail what Elemental Proliferation does exactly? Is it something a Shadow would want to use?

- When is Adder's Touch applied? Only from normal attacks with daggers or also from skills, like Dual Strike, Flickering Strike?

Just a few opinions from an unexperienced PoE player. Great Class, great passives, great fun. Seeing that my chosen path will be viable even on higher levels (well, we'll see about DW vs. Shield), I'm kinda relieved.

If you go Chaos Innoc you'll never want the HP. CI will only allow you to have 1 HP.

They say that you'll have 70%+ Resist on all things at lv 60+ so you won't need the Resist.

Generally Speaking int based Classes will Never need the mana, However the OP stated that he constantly uses his mana potions. With CI you also get to use 5 Mana potions.

Imo Get the skill point.

Critical Strikes with Daggers poison the enemy

I only know a few things.
1: You need to inflict a Critical strike with a Weapon skill that uses your Dagger to get the Poison dmg.
2: Poison = Chaos.

I do not know how much dmg it will deal as a DoT. It is definetly not much. probably no more then 30% of the criticals dmg. we do not know how long the DoT Last.
