[Camera] It's too close!
they really should start thinking the ranged combat in this game... so far its all close combat ... while mobs aggroing on player off screen might be exciting for melee/close quarter type character , it is ruined for a tactical approach of a ranged type character! Fix the camera for gods shake, having to stretch our screens ( which btw NOT all screens Support Custom Resolutions ) is unacceptable!

I agree with OP.
I find myself that I quite often want to zoom out just a bit more, especially outdoors where I get a claustrophobic feeling. |
|
I've noticed that too from all the video's I seen. Aside from the camera being a bit too close it seems many cave/dungeon like areas are also way too narrow which doesn't help the camera issue or ranged combat. Should zoom out a little bit, make narrow areas a bit more spacious so ranged classes can kite & be played the way they should be.

I partially agree. Recently I was playing with bow and something occurred. I can't shoot at some monsters in my upper corners (they seem to be too far away, which is completely ok) but I can shoot at some monsters I don't even see, those hidden under and above my display edges.
This wouldn't be a big deal, but certain monsters notice you long before they appear on your screen, so I find myself shooting arrows to these blind spots listening whether I hit any or not. (Sometimes I shoot to real blind spots too, of course, for example in caves, when the wall is blocking view. There is no need of adding more blind spots to the game, hehe.) But honestly, I don't think camera would move farther just like that because some people find their aspect ratio worse than another. ✠ ✠

The game is playable at this max zoom camera but it gets annoying by the minute of gameplay... expecially in dark dungeons like the prison (where I had to turn of shadows so I can see), the camera mainly gives you a tunnel vision effect which is very severe for small monitors like laptops and my 15" CRT xD I'm running the game at 1024x768 btw and played with Ranger class and bow.
A simple fix would be to increase the max zoom. Also, it would be better if we can see monsters before they can see us so we can avoid or go to them. Last edited by THDigi#1804 on Jun 3, 2012, 4:55:55 PM

Can we get a response from the devs please?
I starting to think the suggestion section is pointless. |
|
A bit more zoom would be great - not unlimited, but a little more.
I'd appreciate around +50% - +80% more Zoom-Out. Zoom could also be in link to the surrounding, like: 100% max Zoom-Out in Dungeon (like it is now) and 150% max Zoom-Out in Fields and Open Regions Just an idea ... (visibility bugs me more right now=> no transparency or outlines) |
|
First it seems like they need to make sure that all resolutions get the same viewing area. Then increase the whole zoom by about 20%.
I would like to hear from the DEVS on this too because this is a bug. People should not have a different viewing area based on Resolution. |

" Exactly. Although this is my last post on this forum since not a single dev/representative said anything to this 5 page long thread. Why should I bother if they don't even give two shits. |

Hey save these conclusions. Devs do care about suggestions and feedback, sometimes they just don't response in the thread.
Anyway, how do you mean "make sure that all resolutions get the same viewing area"? Do you want to play with black zones as if you were watching widescreen movie? Extended view on the sides for widescreen monitors seems like better solution to me. ✠ ✠
