[Camera] It's too close!
I have to say, I tried to enjoy this game for about 10 minutes, I really did. But the reason why I couldn't is because of the camera distance. It's seriously just too zoomed in, the character takes up like 35% of of the entire screen, and that's not functional for a top-down game like this.
I've read that there would be problems for the game if it did indeed zoom out more, but that they planned on addressing it later. I seriously hope they have this as one of their highest priorities, because this camera distance is making the game entirely unplayable to me, and by the looks of it many others. |

a year have passed from last update by GGG on this issue(which is WAY TOO GENERAL to be ignored like it is),pls give us an update on progress.bump

I saw someone say this game was like 1999, which is funny. If you look at first generation games in this genre like Diablo 1, the range at which characters can see their surroundings is about 8 times farther than this game. So things have actually gotten much worse over time instead of better on the visual distance issue.

Please GGG, camera angle is too FAR OUT. Make it zoomed in more and show less! Make the game so easy mode with letting us see things so far away. Tighten things up and bring some skill into the game so players can't just lolspam the screen herping and a derping all day long. stop over moderating that makes the official forums useless

I absolutely am. It's already showing too much. Zooming out even more would require an entire re balance of the game and is something I strongly urge GGG to not do. One thing they need to do is reduce the range of ranged attacks and not allow skills to propagate 'off screen'. Projectiles should 'drop off' when exiting screen.
Not only would this prevent off screen deaths from reflect mobs the player can't see, but it doesn't allow players to just stand and clear mobs that are further then the edge of the screen in almost complete safety. Projectile attacks/spells need a range reduction very badly for balance. The distance between a ranged player and mobs they are targeting needs to be brought DOWN, not raised by allowing even more zooming out. This reduces the disparity between ranged and melee players. This also would prevent totem users from being so 'safe' and casting totems and standing almost 2 screens away with no risk. stop over moderating that makes the official forums useless

I experienced the same.
As a Ranger you have a larger range than your PoV which means that you'll have to get closer to the enemies you want to kill or you'll just guess where they are and snipe them, but that's not the point of being a Ranger, is it? I'd also suggest an opportunity to unlock the camera so you can move it away from your character to see what comes next. |
