[Retracted] WASD Movement

umm so what your saying that you could move with WASD and still attack with mouse or are you thinking some alternative attack?

I don't agree with the implementation of WASD. Classic Diablo 1 style controls are just fine.

Just don't delay release time on stuff like this, PnC is miles better than WASD on an isometric game

i think WASD + mouse is an epic combination for pve and better for PVE, because you can move while attacking, i think it is a nice idea so...

Funny story. All the people saying that WASD movement works super well for WoW and etc. aren't really correct. I mean, yes, you can use WASD movement for WoW but it is far inferior to the mouse movement.

Targeting issues can be fixed via hotkey, i.e T for Target Hostile, H for Select Previous Target, Tab for Target Nearest Hostile etc. That way the mouse is free for pure movement and hotkeys provide the proper targeting and skill use.

I know in D2 I never pointed and clicked to where i wanted to go. I just held the mouse button down and ran. Imo, if you're pointing, clicking, waiting until your character gets there, and then repeating, you're doing it wrong.

But, then again, I'm more of a PvP style person, and the necessity for quick twitch movement and control has always been really important. Perhaps mouse targeting is more ideal for PvE.

An option would make some happy, although personally i find it hard to use in other games.

In wow i found a combination of WASD and programmed hotkeys etc., in addition to mouse use was the best way. I could outright destroy people. Multi tasking of your left hand to handle movement and hotkeys when mastered along with viewing with mouse and clicking twitch on a 5200 dpi mouse, is the best. Pre programmed uber button mouse in there as well ust ends the day for anyone with hardware that is inferior.

In conclusion WASD can work when mastered for a game where it is implemented properly.

But my understanding is that this is like against the whole concept of these types, arpg, games.

i'm against it

wsad movement definitely not,
just mouse like in diablo + some shortcuts for picking things up, using things , interacting etc

if wsad only for camera view change and the rest for the mouse

not that i hate wsad or something but its a way to easy for bots to drive character trough dungeons etc.
