Post aura rage here. I will lock any other aura thread I see.
I feel like adding auras to the cash shop after removing them sets a bad precedent for f2p devs. It sounds like something EA would do. If adding an option for the old ones is so much trouble, I'd honestly settle for having an option to completely turn them off. At least then the people who don't like the new Microsoft Paint auras can choose to not look at them.

I actually think some auras look better this way. Obviously those like Purity and the other floaty colorful ones are lacking, but those simplistic rings on the new Clarity and Discipline look really polished to me. Which leaves me torn between the old one's that make you look like a complete badass, and the new which are much more clean.

Personally, I prefer minimalist graphics, instead of the super flashy ones. But that is me, and definitely not everyone else's opinion on the matter.
Ultimately, whether these are good or bad, they are cosmetic changes. And, with that noted, I think cosmetic changes to graphics can be done with REAL OPTIONS in the Video Options menu, instead of just flat changes to allow people with more outdated computers to play the game. But, if I were to choose efficient auras over inefficient auras (efficiency in terms of FPS/Latency issues), I would much rather the efficient minimalist. Either keep them the way they are, or add an option for the fancier models to show up when people choose/are able to run them with their computer. And on that note, I'd like to see a reduction in particle effects, with an additional option to add more in the options as well. |

Hi,
I am posting my opinion on this matter, as well as the opinion of my friend (who is not the type to post on forums): Since the patch that changed the look of the aura to greatly simplified ones, we are both GREATLY disappointed by the look of our auras. My friend has stated many times now how disappointed he is now of the new look, and how awesome his auras used to look. Although he understands the need for simplified aura graphics for low-end computers, he believes there should be an option to display the awesome looking ones for those of us who have high-end gaming computers and have no problem displaying them. As for me, I am very disappointed by all the auras I use, which I feel all lack the feel of "power" the other versions used to give us, and I am immensely disappointed by the drastic diminution of awesomeness of the Determination aura, which I think was the best looking aura out there. We both STRONGLY believe that there should be a simple option in the menus to select which type of auras we want displayed on our computer: the old awesome looking ones, or the new simple but computer friendly auras. Thank you. Last edited by Dreamer000#3253 on Apr 25, 2013, 9:44:40 AM

" I didn't notice AH or RMAH to be mandatory. Your opinion on the matter does not make it a fact. You pay for the game and besides that you don't have to pay a dime to get stuff, you just need patience and work, as it should be. Just because you are too lazy to farm for drops does not make the game P2W. |

"I never said it was required to pay to win, I merely stated that that is the only way to progress without playing for more then a year. You can probably reach the end game (Ability to farm Act 4 Inferno) in under a year if you dedicate an insane amount of time to the game, sure. Anyways without any bias from me I can definitely state that the game was funner when it first launched as loot didn't revolve entirely around champions, rares, goblins and bosses. You could find decent loot in vases, weapon racks and dead corpses etc. giving players alternatives if they were under geared for the monsters. I don't think those 3 things drop gold anymore either, or it was extremely nerfed and all 3 of those either don't give decent loot anymore or it is super duper rare. " The statement we are discussing goes like this: " And I can't agree with that cause there is no obligation to buy anything in D3. Getting decent stuff should be hard and will always require a shitload of effort in a decent game. Unless this is a symptom of people wanting everything served on a silver platter nowadays. Did getting best stuff in D2 not require hundreds of hours? of course if did. Why do people feel that D3 is unfair because you don't get best uniques as soon as you hit 60, I don't understand. |

By decent gear I don't mean perfect gear, I mean gear that allows progression/opens up new ways/areas to farm. Perfect gear should indeed be extremely hard to achieve.

" I got decent gear from drop, and got to paragon lvl 30 on it. so I don't understand what people mean when they say they can't get it. You just need to put in some effort and grind. |
