I do have to disagree with the folks who insist that the new auras fit more in line with PoE's spartan visuals. From a technical standpoint, sure, that's true - they're hardly as flashy as the old ones. To me, however, Wraeclast isn't just a dark and gritty continent - it was, and still is, a land of fantastic magics. It didn't jar my immersion in the slightest when the old auras were in effect; I could believe that such extravagant spells existed, especially seeing how beautiful Wraeclast must have been before the Cataclysm. Some auras, like Discipline, Clarity, and Vitality, seemed quite fitting for their effects and didn't strike me as particularly out of line with the game's aesthetic - 7 aura discos aside.
Graphical options or even microtransactions would be perfectly fine, but I wonder if there can't be some sort of middle ground between the new simple auras and the older fancier ones. Perhaps using the new aura graphics as a base, while building a little more detail on top of those. If more auras are activated by the player, the ones previously casted could have those details fade away into the baseline we have now - no more discos, but 1-2 aura users can still enjoy their awesome glyphs and whatnot. Just my two cents, for what it's worth. |

shouldn't even fucking matter to anyone.
The Graphics Option would have been client side.... wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference to anyone, except to the tons of players that have been asking for it. No one else would see it or even know except for the throngs of players that want a graphics option to turn it on client side. but apparently we've already been given our answer in another thread... NO Option! to hell with what the players want! it's just tough shit for anyone who doesn't like the new auras... but don't worry... they said they "may" give us an option to Pay for decent looking aura's in the future. Mighty white of them. I gotta say I'm really disappointed in GGG they don't care enough about their players to give them a purely client side option to change the look of their auras... on their own computers... that won't change the new 'default' look... that no one else can see... that a shit load of players have asked for what a shame. +1 Graphics Option
Simply and fast. IMO actually auras like a puke, and repuked. Warning: I don't compare the games, only the auras. Bring back the old aura's this absolutely ridic that you remove cool graphics from the game... what next remove summoners, and lower spell graphics? THe day that I see that I have to pay money to get cool aura's back is when I quit the game.
