Post aura rage here. I will lock any other aura thread I see.

Anyway, just because this is a rage topic it doesn't mean that it's a jerk-off circle. Forums are here to discuss stuff and that's what I'm trying to do.

The majority of us here are asking nicely to add a graphical option to change the aura visuals, no jerk off festival as you said, and the problem is that you argue with anyone here that tries to explain why they prefer the old visuals, always criticizing their opinions, it's rather annoying.

Actually all I'm trying to do is explain why giving options for this particular change makes little sense - I do agree however that there should be low-high options, in this case the graphical change did not consist of making the same textures of lower quality but a completely different design altogether, that's why the new auras cannot be put on a high-low continuum with the old ones.

And I find it rather funny - this whole thing - this community rambling on about how D3 was all pony-land candy-ass shit, but when a change is made here to go a little darker and less candy suddenly everyone likes pony-lands.

There is and was a difference in aesthetic between D3 and PoE both now and before the change to auras.

''this community rambling on about how D3 was all pony-land candy-ass shit'' As far as I know, I'm being part of this community and I never said such thing. D3 and PoE are 2 different games so stop comparing them. Yes the old auras looked flashy but also dark-ish. Having the vitality aura gave that awesome red bloodlike vampire glow beneath your character. And now its a weird red.. thing.. spinning around my character, that's not what I want.

Well then comparing to D2 shouldn't happen either. And yet people seem to use it as an argument that flashy auras are good although D2 is over a decade old.

Here, you are doing it again. Why are you bringing D2 up? It's yet again a different game. So stop comparing. The flashy aura's looked fine and nobody actually asked for the new aura design. GGG Puts the new design up and people start to rage, that's what happened.

To stop the rage, you either put up an option to let people decide what aura they want. Or get the old visuals back and let the new ones rot.

And if you want to say something about the ''nobody actually asked for it'' part. Yes there might be some people who are playing on a crappy desktop/laptop that couldn't handle the old visuals. A simple solution to that could have been something like a smaller and less flashy texture under the medium texture quality option. and not changing the entire design, which really disappointed the majority of the community

It desappointed me so much that I've lost the will to play, because now my ultra cool archer seems a 12 year old girl with stupid ugly rings swirling around.

It's like a hula hoop repeatedly falling to the floor from a lack of maintained momentum.

I know how you feel. I feel the same each time I turn on an aura :(
Kind of sucks the enjoyment of the game out of me. It's soo... disappointing... and sad.
When I look at them now, I rather just have an option to disable the visuals completely.
I'm serious.
