Permanent Solo League?

"

This is just a small sampling of how I roll my maps. I've got 69/70s as well. A pretty good sized pool. I do however group, so we've got 5-6 player with near as many as I do. Soloing though is incredibly expensive and hard to maintain over a longer period of time, especially as you get into 74+ maps. In a solo league, there is no cause for concern over inflation, since it's essentially a single player game. As such, since we will be 100% solo, the map rate should allow a player to run maps without ever needing to go back to Docks as a level 85+ player. This of course is as long as they are making active attempts @ good maps, and not running whites.

Do please remember this league and what we currently experience cannot be compared as one in the same.

Spoiler

I've been doing maps solo for a long time now, and this is what i have. I'm able to sustain the map drops, and currently have a large pool of high level maps. Nothing needs changing. If you have to go back to farming docks, it's entirely your fault. You shouldn't leave docks until you have 5-10 maps anyway. Alch all of them and you should be able to do atleast half of them, and from there, it is going to snowball in a positive direction.

$ 100 for a solo league

And just let vendors sell maps, we can leave that "i have enough maps" bullshit for all the party facerollers.
I would love this. :)

If you put on your full plate mail, and I throw hundreds of toothpicks at you, you'll basically not feel it.

If someone catapults a whole tree at you, don't expect the Armour to prevent as much of the damage.

Could we have a solo league please? That is a permanent league with:

-- No partying and no trading (like the solo races).
-- More generous drop rates on Orbs to allow realistic crafting without trading.
-- A solo appropriate approach to map drops.

Basically I like to play PoE solo but suspect that this would be a lot more fun if many of the mechanics that exist to make the multiplayer game and economy work were removed or tweaked slightly.

Hopefully this would remove the grind for ages here to get on spec drops aspect and allow solo players to try more diverse builds (e.g. gear dependent builds). It might also allow some semblence of competitive play between solo players.

I have no idea if this is technically possible or how much work would be involved. Or indeed how much interest there would be in such a league (Maybe it's just me who plays like this?)

Thanks.

can we try to search the forums for the same threads before posting the same dam thing over and over again time after time.

it gets so disheartening to keep seeing gamers now a days not want to put in the time to achieve the rewards and just want stuff now, now, now!! i think that too many gamers to day are to used to pay-to-win games and forgot how to work hard for their rewards.

I apologise for not searching for other threads on the issue. It's sometimes difficult to follow the forums with everything so clogged up with people having the same arguments over and over again so everything drops off the front page so fast.

FWIW I have never paid to win in any game and find the idea risible. I also don't think the game should be any easier just that in a solo league GGG can tweak the rules to make the solo game more enjoyable without endangering the main economy. However, I would, and indeed have, paid to support GGG in making a game I enjoy. And because they seem like the good guys :)

The idea that the game would be better if we had to work hard is interesting. Maybe we could have a league where the game is connected to a heart rate monitor and you can only leave town if it's above 90bpm? The Treadmill League would surely become the place where the truly dedicated play knowing they literally sweated for every item their character wears.

I like this idea too

You're wrong.
You're just lucky at the rng machine but others are not.
This is the system: one player's luck means other players bad luck.
Looks kinda broken to me and thus needs changing.
And regarding mapp rolling its easy: larger area, pack size, more magic monsters assorted with some hard mods that add map quantity.
ps maze is included in larger area.
+1 Great idea, I would love to play in such a league.
