Just returned to the game, and found out that my 44 Shadow had a full passive reset, so went on the forums and found this guide, decided to give it a go as the EK skill sounded fun. Am at Act 1 Cruel atm, just faced Merveil for the first time, and it didn't go to well.
Think i got her down to about 75% in her first form. I guess this is because my gear isn't really that good, and if am not mistaken i was more of a physical fighter when i last played. Got about 600hp and around 300 energy shield, doing about 250 damage with EK. Don't suppose anyone got any tips? Guess i probably just have to farm some place before i can continue? |

" I can't recommend it for hardcore. I don't build or play chars around hardcore. If you want to play HC a much safer route would probably be going down to Iron Reflexes and stacking health. This is mostly for a map farmer / crit EK ES build. " Ahhh.. You probably do need a gear complete overhaul to ES/RES and spell damage on your wep / shield if possible. Make sure you have 75 cold res fighting Merveil. 250 dps with Ek at 44 is low unless you mean 244phys damage a hit? do you ahve to use a wand? and es/spell dmg shild? or can u you
d a divi dagger and a nice es/res/block shild? |

has anyone tried using a dagger, and picking up increased physical damage with dagger passives? instead of spell damage?
I'm quite sure it scales with EK physical damage, and it seems like dagger physical/crit passives are more accessible on the tree than spell damage |

" You could use a shield upgrade with more ES and spell damage. That would help a lot, same with on the weapon. Any spell damage helps a ton with EK as it has high base damage. " Replied to your pm. :P You can use a dagger with the spell damage and crit on it along with the shield. Doesn't need to be a wand. " Oh no, the increased physical damage with a dagger passives will only buff a dagger. There are a few passives with "increased %phys damage" that will buff it but they are few. Same with items with that stat, but if the stat is on the weapon buffing it it doesn't apply to EK. Spell crit / spell cast / cast speed buff EK. |

Would a Moonsorrow imbued wand be better than this one?
I currently have 973 dps with EK+ Faster Projectile+Mana Leech+Added fire dmg |

For leveling soul siphon would give you good mana sustain without needing leech gem for 3points you can respec later out of.
