i've got 3 questions:
1) EK deals pfys damage, but you taking spell damage nodes, so EK deals phys damage, but increased by spell damage nodes?
2) if EK deals phys damage, may be nodes as "+50% phys damage with wands" will increase it?
3)a) there are node Mind Drinker(+2%mana leech) why not to take it if EK deals phys damage??
b) i've got life and mana leech on the belt and it doesn't work - is it ok?)

It is a "physical" spell. The damage dealt is physical (as opposed to fire or chaos), so resists don't work- but armor does.

Mind Drinker works on "Physical attack damage" not "spell damage", so it does nothing for EK because it is not an "attack".

The keywords are "Projectile, Spell", so passives that impact either of those will impact EK.

Here is the wiki entry: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Ethereal_Knives

p.s. A mana leech support gem would work.

Aye, thx for the post. :) Mana leech does work with EK. EK is pretty confusing but unique in a way as it is a physical damage spell. Even though it deals physical damage it sell behaves similar to all the other spells. Anything spell damage, cast speed, spell crit(global crit as well) will buff it. Increased wand phys damage will not buff it as it is the damage on the wand itself. Other items with %increased phys damage can buff it though, such as the implicit mod buff on a rustic sash.
I am thinking of trying out this Scion (tree done out to level 67) variant of your build. Running as a Scion lets me take VP to deal with phys reflect; however I am wondering if I am wasting my time with a build that probably won't have much in the way of armor. I've never taken a phys damage character to maps so I'm not sure what to expect for phys reflect.

I'd run EK + faster proj + PCoC + mana leech + life leech. Disipline for an aura and on phys reflect maps I could switch to Determination.

Any thoughts?

Hey there. This Scion build looks really good. Since the 1.0 update to the passive tree this is a very solid build picking up VP and offensive + defensive nodes. Thanks for posting. As for phys reflect, unless you got high armor critting a phys reflect will always be a killer. You could out leech it with possibly with VP + ghost reaver as long as it doesn't instantly kill you with the reflect it may counteract each other. Please don't take my word for this as I have never personally test it out though. I usually just use a spark link to kill the phys reflect monster or map. Freezing pulse is another good alternative to use. For the build it would be best to avoid phys reflect maps though. Armor flasks buffed with % increase armor help with the reflected damage too but those are only temporarily.
Here a bit of a tweak to the Scion and a variant. Elemental dominon is elemental damage so not useful for EK (force of habit to grab it for a caster). And with all the str nodes on the way to VP Iron Grip is a lot of extra damage for the cost of 1 node (enough that you could roll back some spell damage and grab more ES if needed). Also Blood Drinker is only 2 nodes away from Unwavering Stance and for the 2% leech this seems worthwhile.

The variant rolls back the Intense Zeal critical cluster, saving on a bunch of int nodes. Instead it grabs the rest of the crit nodes in the shadow tree. You lose the crit multi but gain 5% crit chance and 20% mana regen and 3 nodes (seems like a worthwhile trade). With those 3 extra nodes you could grab more ES (either by Shadow or Scion), the crit chance nodes in the Witch starting area, or the aura cluster by Bloodthirst. I also grabbed Coordination; the build is going to need at least 1 +30 dex node unless you've got godly gear so +20 dex &) 3% cast speed seemed like a good idea.

Ahh, I don't think Iron Grip works with EK as it is for projectile based attacks and EK is a phys projectile spell. The same thing applies for blood drinker, this is for physical attacks. Other then that these builds are very nice. In my opinion Scion has the best and most efficient build with Vaal Pact + Ghost Reaver in it.

Hi, could you post your stats for 1.0? As well as current gear. Thanks!

I got my current gear on page one aside from missing a ring. I just use 2x Andvarius rings. As for stats,

This is with Hatred + Purity on. I need Purity for the res because of 2x Andvarius. Could be using Discipline if the res wasn't needed.

15135 displayed DPS without frenzy charges.

EK + Faster Proj + Faster Cast(PCOC imo is better) + Added Fire + Mana Leech

I can maybe work on one throughout the day / next couple of days but I am not too sure right now about a life build similar.
