Chain is very costly on a link. They both work very similar though. Fork much cheaper will still spread your AoE damage just as good or better depending on how well the enemies are clumped up together. With decent positioning Fork has proven to be much deadlier. This is all from personal experience. :)

came up with a LIFE version of EK - u can start either as shadow or ranger -

since the new leagues are up and gettin -no frozen- uniques would be kinda hard ,plus the life buff ... it might be better this way

terrex, I've recently gotten back into the game and I'm looking to use your build. I have a lvl 47 shadow and I was wondering how you would assign passives if you were in my shoes. The problem was I was going a much different route and just don't have the gear. Is this build still viable even with subpar gear I can trade with my other stuff?

I currently have 239 tooltip dps with EK+fork+fire dmg+faster projectiles

I took advantage of the skill tree reset to follow this build, but as you can see, my equip is not the best.
I already have a 5L for higher lvl but what else can i get to improve my dps?

Hey there. Checking out your build it looks good so far. Gear wise you could use a shield upgrade for possibly a great ES upgrade and more spell damage / spell crit / res. For the rest of the pieces, pretty soon you might want to lean towards more ES gear to start scaling with the passives / INT unless you want to stick with some HP. Other then that, you are getting close to some nice crit chance and multiplier nodes which will help out a lot with EK. Are you surviving currently okay? A spell damage amulet might help but that has some nice RES + ES on it.. Cast speed / regen / res rings but your rings currently are giving stats you may need. To be honest the fastest DPS upgrade would be a more spell damage shield. You have a pretty nice wand.

Hello. EK is a strong spell and scales well with decent offensive gear. I cannot say for sure how effective you will be with your current gear or some gear you may get. As for your passives.. If you are able to post your tree I could take a look but depending on what you have it might be best to restart if I am understanding correctly. Early levels you can power through with a solid setup and a few decent leveling items.

Ahoy, thanks for this post. This is quite the unique and neat build. It is very cool to see this being made with a Ranger start + using HP. You picked up some nice essential defensive nodes and move up to some great crit near Shadow. While this might not be the best spell damage or spell crit buffing build it is still very solid. I really like the fact you pick up IR and are stacking armor, that will help greatly with phys reflect monsters. The one downfall is that some passives do give wasted stats but that can easily be overlooked for this build. They are far and few at that. Loving all the block passives taken.

Since EK scales really well you don't need to dedicate very many offensive passives to keep your DPS on par and a good pace. This is a nice defensive build while still picking up good passives along the way to buff EK.

I find myself relying on clarity a lot even with mana leech on my EK, I have a feeling that I should have a lot more ES at this point, but I haven't had a problem with most things despite no actual sustain, I usually toss down the skeleton totem + zombies and can do anything I need to in that time.

Hey there, checking out your gear now.. You really could use some ES upgrades. :O By your level now, around 51 I am assuming from the gem requirement, you should try to get almost all ES pieces equipped. Definitely could use a ring + amulet upgrade. If you are need resistances, try to get one with RES + Energy Shield. More spell damage on a wand will always be great, cast speed and spell crit. ES scales amazing with the passives and INT. An EVA/ES chest is best if you are going to try for a 5link as it is tougher to get green sockets on a pure ES chest. But if you are focusing on just a 4L, you can probably get a higher ES chest for cheaper.
